I've resisted the temptation (so far) to pig out and comfort eat because of my disappointment.
I just had 2 coffees for breakfast before WI.
Have heated up some leftover veg - broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower. Sprinkled some Worcestershire sauce on top and had with some lean gammon for lunch. Driving back home, the plan was to have bacon in a bagel
Bought the SW Little Book of Sauces for some ideas. I'm stuck in a rut of chicken and plain veg/salad at the moment. I've started clucking.0 -
In the fridge are 4 slices of Finest Belgian Chocolate cheesecake. For the kids and my wife. Hmmmm 2kids +1wife = 3
22 syns per slice LOL I'm still clucking.0 -
:wave:BR, good to see you back.:)
frogga, the menu you posted looks fine to me. Well done for having the pineapple in with your fruit as that's SS and really good for weightloss. Why no syns. are you saving them?
barney, good on you getting a loss but do take the advice and eat plenty. I have sympathy and empathy with your situation. Before I started SW I had to cut down on wine as it had become a daily habit. I know my DH felt guilty drinking in front of me, he used to offer me a glass every night or say 'I suppose you're being good'. I simply told him that he knew what I was doing was a good idea (units, money etc) but it was his choice whether he joined in or not. Over time he has cut down but he's always been better at knowing when to stop than me.;) With SW he's happy to eat whatever I cook but he has stuck to different/more bread and cereal and he has non-SW snacks but for main meals we eat the same. Occasionally he'll say he wants to lose weight and I say much the same as I did about the wine. You just need to hang on in there barney, it's her choice whether she joins you.
millymouse, I have hot NAS Ribena to keep my drinks up as a change from tea/coffee in cold weather.
sharalee, why not put your scales somewhere really inaccessible like a high cupboard, garden shed or in the car? It's really not good to weight between classes.
:T on your STS lush and good luck wit the interviews.
mum2one, I'd add that SW is definitely not boring and repetitive. You can do a meal plan and have a huge range of recipes depending on how willing you are to cook.
FE, as far as I know you can have a mixture of red and green days in a week but what's the difference (other than the extra HEXs) in a mix and match day and EE? On EE your Batchelors noodle pot shot (depending on flavour) could be free or few syns.
My first WI since 14th December today. I'd lost another 2lbs so now 3lbs out of my range. I'm quite pleased as everyone's been telling me how thin I'd got when I was poorly. I was wearing my walking boots so probably a bit lighter than that. I'll try to introduce a few extras but I think it's going to take a few weeks. I had emailed consultant and she was able to over-ride all missed weeks due to illness so only cost me one week's money.0 -

I'm still clucking.
That's tough. Let the children share the last slice, anythig but give it to you!
Do you like gammon or sausages? They'd make a very easy change from the chicken then you could oink instead of cluck?:)0 -
Some great posts, lots to think about.
menu today:
ff yoghurt banana and blueberries
baked beans, smash and brussel sprouts and mixed veg (needed something quick)
potato mashed with sauerkraut and Sainsbury's l/f sausages (1 1/2 syn)
HEX A: 3 babybell light HEB: 3 chili Ryvita, cucumber
syns: not sure yet, keep them for evenings.
I find evenings quite hard. I can mindlessly eat lots of food. I need to change this habit and maybe start using syns during the day and not keep them for evening nibbling. I am going to do my crocheting to keep my hands busy.
Hope you are having a good day! :j0 -
I need a damn good kick up the bum. Any volunteers?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Hi All
My the thread has moved on fast!!!
Frogga - you have had loads of great advice here, don't give up now, as someone said, I would say meal plan, I do it on a weekly basis & batch cook on a spreadsheet that also tallies my syns, i print it off & add to it if i need to, I also make up a treat box but if i overuse syns on something else ie sauce or gravy then I take a treat out the box, PM me if you want a copy of my sheet, its basid but would save you a lot of work
Banjo - I have the opposite in my DH, when I started making meals for SW that served 4, I ate one & froze 3, had quite a stash in the Freezer but DH doesn't do SW but eats the meals, he loves them, he was hovering over me like a bad smell last saturday as I was making SW pakora, I told him he wouldnt like it as it wasnt proper batter.....how wrong I was, and he was miffed on the Sunday when I only gave him 2 pieces (only had 5 left) :rotfl:It doesn't stop him eating a pizza or drinking a beer in front of me although he will ask if I want a bit of pizza  cue me shouting "DONT ASK ME!!!!! "
