I'm with Nessie & Rob - when I lost 3.5st in 5 months I did 90% green days & often snacked on carbs (mugshots/savoury rice) aswell as having it for meals. When I do SW I cut out bread completely because I know this stalls my weight loss, but pasta doesn't. Just depends on your body I guess!! :D

i have also said this beofre and i think your consultant is wrong telling you that , take it from someone who is losing weight
    i eat lots of potatoes
    i eat lots of rice
and i also eat lots and lots of pasta and or noodles .. i also lose on avergae 3lb a week ...

what works for one does not necessarily work for another and you have to find what your body type will take

i also think as soon as you start worrying about portion sizes et al your less inclined to stick to any healthy eating plan/diet

also quick question ... do you have your 5-15 syns a day? ...

My syns vary greatly quite a few days in the week I have none or a very low amount and some days I have around 6 - 8. Once in a while I'll save them up and have a blow out.

Your right in that different things work for us all - carbs have always made me bloat and put on weight. As previously stated I do eat them I'm just careful about portion sizes. If you are fortunate enough that you can eat them to your hearts content I would continue to do so lol.:rotfl:

I think eating too much pasta/rice/bread slows my weight loss down , so tend to try & stick to meat/veg & fruit on the whole. I do eat all 3 things though but limit the amount i eat.:D

ETA - as for syns i am trial & error a couple of different ways at the moment. This week i have eaten minimal syns (between 2-6 per day) during the week so i can enjoy my wine & a chocolate bar on Sat night. If it doesnt work for me then will think again.

The curry loaf is lovely isn't it- didn't fancy it at all til I made it and was very pleasantly surprised!

I know the one with savoury rice. That's yummy!

Interesting talk about carbs. I'm a confessed greedy pig who eats huge portions at meals but I'm not really a snacker so I suppose it balances out. I do have loads of potatoes etc at mealtimes but I am very conscious that the more carbs I have the more superfrees I need to balance it. I'm assuming that's why it works for me. What I never understand is how you can just snack on freefood as, for me, that skews the proportion of SFs across the day.

Today I've had egg on toast with bacon for breakfast, lunch I've only fancied a banana and a Satsuma so far. I had a small juice but that stops tomorrow and I'm back on the Ribena. For supper I've taken some HM burgers out of the freezer to have with wedges. Unless I go out to do a food shop then SFs will be a problem. I could stirfy some bits of cabbage, carrot, pepper and beansprouts. At least I have a plan.

I wasn't expecting you to all go getting pregnant (especially not rob :rotfl:)

It goes against joining a sw group seeing the scales going up most weeks :o

I had to pay at my last class when I was pregnant :(

Stupid consultant kept giving me slimmer of the week even though I said I didn't want it due to living on crisps (not exactly on plan!!) during my 'morning' sickness. I would rather have it gone to someone who'd actually tried to lose weight.
