Miss I, well done:T I am sure you had a happyface:rotfl: never mind the old bag. I am finding that the group can be very clicquey (spelling?) when its a small locality and they all know each other. is yours like that?
Your date sounds exciting, where did you meet him, was it online? I hope it goes well. sewing is easy, just take a seam up each side and dont leave any threads hanging down:)

no diet for me yesterday, I had a big bar choc, small cheese sandwich lunch, and another ham one for dinner, then 2 piecs of cheescake with icecream. then 2 flakes. I need this few days break, will try afresh on monday.
I got some summer trousers from m and s outlet, they have extra 25% off when you spend over £25 on ladies clothes. apart from the basics their ranges werent very inspiring .

Hi Fellow SW'ers - the sun is shiny here today which is great. Menu today:

    B - Wholemeal roll toasted with Philly Cheese & cherry toms (B, 1/2 A)
L - Cheese and Chive SW quiche with leek, onion and tomato (super free, 1/2 A)/ Lentil, Potato and Vegetable Soup (home made) (Free)
D - Beef Canneloni, jacket potato, salad, sour cream (3 syns) and cheese (3 syns)/Pineapple and 0% Fromage Frais (free)

Don't have much fruit in so need to go and get some.

I went to a party last night and ended up having wayyyy too much too drink. I've counted 50 syns for red wine but it's probably more. I resisted the buffet though and just stuck to the peppers, cucumbers, carrot sticks etc so that's a bonus! I'm just going to try and be good for the rest of the week and keep within the 105 syns and hopefully get a loss this week.

I've found the thread debate on portion control really interesting. I lost 5 stones before with SW following a mix of green and red days, however, I feel for me personally I lose more when I follow red days. I don't do EE because I end up eating more carbs than I should and I need to limit carbs due having Polystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). This can lead to insulin resistance and eventually diabetes so I need to keep my blood sugar levels stable. I generally only have a green day once or twice a week and I try to limit the amount of pasta I eat on those days. It's very interesting on the superfree front though and I will definitely be trying to be eating more of these.

    Hi there

I am considering joining slimming world. I am at a point that I need to lose about 4 stone. I have put on 10lbs this year so far and I feel rotten for it.

Could someone tell me why I should SW over calorie counting , WW etc. I have successfully lost weight in the past but turn to food in stressful situations. I know this is a frequent problem for those overweight.

I have high cholesterol sitting at about 7.7 and I know I need to take some steps to sort myself out.
    Thank you :)

I can't specifically say why it's better than simple calorie counting as I've never done that. SW is the only 'diet' I've ever tried. I chose it because it seems the closest to 'normal' healthy eating. When you analyse it, SW advocates lean meat, loads of veg, carbohydrates cooked healthily and limited things we all know should be occasional treats like fats, sugars etc. Why not try the on-line (or in magazine) sample SW menu and see how you get on before committing yourself.

Had quite a good day today if a bit unbalanced. HEB Shreddies and HEA milk for breakfast. Some bits of cold chicken, strawberries and a Satsuma for lunch. For supper I did a 'pretend' roast: sausages, onions, roast pots and parsnips, cauli, broccoli and carrots. Saturday wine syns!:j and a few for the gravy with my dinner.

It is definitely 3500 per week (so a deficit of 500 per day) . 7000 calories would equate to 2lb loss.

    http://www.caloriesperhour.com/tutorial_pound.php

There are several other sites which tell you the same thing :)

Hah now I understand, you mean CUT your intake by 3500 calories a week not Eat 3500 calories aweek:rotfl:I thought it was a bit low:eek:

    Had a terrible day & it's only week 1! :(
Visited some relatives who were having a party & a buffet. Just come home (200+mile round trip) to discover that although I thought I'd been 'good' I've had over 25 syns - mainly due to there being no 'diet' drinks. I avoided the alcohol but had Shloer instead :(
I felt so high & was doing so well until today, gutted I may have sabotaged my good week 1. I'm probably spot on 70 syns for the week if I don't have any more tomorrow (WI on Tues morning). Think going to do a Success Express day tomorrow & see if I can claw back any hope.
On the plus side we had time for breakfast before we left so hubby didn't force me into McD's on the way down! :)
Hope eveyrone has had a good weekend & has had sunshine.
    C xx
