  • STS this week. That'll teach me to blow out the day before weigh in :D
what do people do with their syns, do you generally use them all every day? if you only have 3 one day do you carry them onto the next or disregard them? just curious really! I have days where I'll only have like 0-3 syns but it backfires on me cos on other days I'll think we'll I only had 3 on that day so I can have more today...if you see what I mean.

iv had a craving for a mars bar all week so I gave in yesterday and bought one - they're about 15 syns so basically used them all for the day but I still feel quite guilty! but that's what syns are there for right? obviously I wouldn't be having a mars every day ha.

Generally at group it's a "use them or lose them" daily approach.
However I (and maybe some others) will over syn one day and under the next. -Not how it's supposed to be done as it's a false sense of control and encourages binge eating.

MM Cullottes were in last year so I can see them being the same this year. New Look and H&M both had the longer "maxi" styles .

Now craving french toast with demara sugar on :rotfl:

    Spag bol for tea

Really struggling this week. I've got out of the way of counting my syns and really need to start again. I'm 4 lbs off having 2 stone off so really need to re motivate myself. Any ideas?

    Morning all,

Happy hump day! The weather isn't as nice today, still warm but quite cloudy - hope it brightens up again.

In terms of counting syns, the only thing I can suggest is to start writing everything down so you have to count them. I am doing that this week as I want to save some so need to be a bit stricter than just having a running total in my head. For motivation, think how far you have come and how hard you have worked for it. Compare photos of yourself at your biggest and now, or try on some old clothes and put away any that are too big, and try on some that now fit or are a bit too small, and think how pleased you'll be that you do/when you will fit into them :)

Firey - nothing wrong with spreading your syns unevenly over the week (a few people in my class prefer to start with 105 for the week and count backwards, using them on whichever days they choose) but if you're having more on some days only because you have had fewer on others and feel like you can, rather than specifically wanting them maybe try spreading them a bit more evenly.

Swiperno - well done on STS, no damage done.

We FINALLY did our first cycle commute this morning - perfect weather really as dry but not too hot. I really enjoyed it but unfortunately OH did not - he is doing it under some duress anyway which I appreciate but we had to stop halfway as he was moaning and thought he might be sick. I think the problem was that I was leading and going too fast for him- I'm hardly Bradley Wiggins but he's even more unfit than me and I like to push myself a bit so struggled to keep up. During the second half I got him to lead so we went at his pace which was better, and the hill that made my legs burn during the practice run was fine - thought I was going slowly last time but was probably hammering it a bit. When we got to work I felt great with both the achievement of finally doing it and the fresh air and endorphins, and he seemed a little less grumpy so hopefully we'll do it again. He thinks having breakfast beforehand made him feel ill so I suggested not eating next time and he didn't say there won't be a next time, so there's hope! If he doesn't I'll still do it as the traffic, which was the bit that terrified me, was ok so I wouldn't mind doing it alone. Would love him to carry on though and get fitter.

So all in all I'm in a great mood. Feeling very organised and MSE as well - no petrol or parking to pay for today, wearing one of my new smaller £2 tops (got 5 from 3 different shops in the past few weeks) and the jeans one of the lovely ladies from fat club gave me, made breakfast and packed bag last night, brought homemade soup and tea is already prepared using whoopsied extra lean mince :D:money:

    EE today:
B: Oats (B), yogurt, berries, pineapple, milk (A)
L: Minestrone soup, apple, 2 plums
    T: Spag bol, parmesan (1.5)
S: Mini milk (1.5) or mini Twister (2)

Have a good day folks :)

    morning all

I am a bit meh this morning..probably because its overcast. I am also hungry as well so currently snacking on fruit fill the hole..

I started off ok this morning, but then started thinking about next week (brothers first anniversary of his death) which set me on a downer and i wondered how i am going to cope. I am off home for a few days next week to be with my family.

They are all under strict instructions that they must eat SW food while i am there :rotfl:. I am going to take over a few recipes which wont cause too much grumbling from everyone. I am fortunate that my family are all pretty good about just eating what they are given rather than complaining they dont like such, and such. Although in all honesty i wouldnt use an ingredient that someone didnt like if i could help it. I guess i am lucky that i know what mum, dad & sis are not keen on.

Sorry for waffling :o..i am on EE today :)

B - mushrooms, ham on hex b toast with splodge of ketchup (1)
L - Sweet potato topped pizza with hex a cheese , and a side salad of spinach, shredded carrot, sweetcorn and peppers.
D - melon, then Bacon & Mushroom penne pasta.

snacks - pineapple, an apple, muller light cherry, flump (1.5) and blueberries, skimmed milk (2)

Blodwen - Well done on your cycle this morning. :D. I always feel good after i have been cycling. Its still a tad too warm for me. I can only cope with cycling when the weather is lower than 10 degrees :o
(otherwise my hair turns into a state and i get all sweaty - plus nowhere to shower at work)

I have been meaning to join the gym again, and i still havent been (i am blaming the sunshine..i really dont want to be stuck in a sweaty gym when the sun is out)

Thanks Blowden. I just can't pull myself out of this mood and its been over a week now! Think I will go and look at clothes at lunch time. Doing that and trying them on does generally inspire me to loose weight.

Im going to work out my syns for yest and today and hopefully get back on track.

I guess when you have another 5 stone 5 lbs to go losing 1 stone 8 lbs doesn't seem that great .................................

I wrote a long post to you RFD and it's disappeared, bah! Basically said I hope you feel better when you're with your family and you can support each other, and it's great they are willing to eat SW food but don't beat yourself up if things get in the way a bit, just do your best and look after yourself *hugs*

I :rotfl: at the hair bit as the first thing I did when we got to work was take my helmet off and check my hair was ok! Since I had it cut it's short enough not to get a bump at the bottom but sweatiness could be an issue, and we don't have shower facilities either. Mind you, if we go at OH's pace I don't get too sweaty and I have baby wipes and my makeup in my bag so can sort myself out when I get in!

Try not to think of it like that - you have lost a quarter of what you want to lose, which is a huge achievement! When I look at how much I have lost I can't really believe it but it's just those 1 and 2lb losses adding up over all the weeks - just plod on and you'll suddenly realise, wow I've lost x amount!

    Was/am very bruised Blodwen.
Trikes can be slightly tricky on corners and I misjudged it slightly.
    Only myself to blame.
