Lost half a pound this week. Gained 1.5 pounds the week before.

I mustn't lose sight of the fact that I am 2 and a half stone lighter than I was 5 years ago (just found an old notebook) otherwise I get disheartened. That includes the weight below which I've lost in the last year.

A loss is a loss congrats:eek: When it comes off slowly you have more chace of keeping it off.

    Your doing great :T
  • Ive just had a look at the 7 day sample menu on the slimming world website

Its waaaayyyy more than I usually ever eat

Surely I cant eat more than I do now and still lose weight?

Typically for me at the moment I eat:

Breakfast: Porridge made with semi skimmed milk, plus a banana, Cup of tea
Snack: Grapes or satsuma or fat free yoghurt
Lunch: Either brown bread sandwich with chicken and salad or a salad with some meat in there, maybe a bit of cheese and some pickle
Dinner: Normally meat and veg, no potatoes or chips
    Drinks: Water throughout the day

There seems to be tons of food in the sample menu. Surely Id be putting on weight if I increased my food intake??

years ago when I did weight watchers & I hit a ss week after week they said it was because I wasn't eating enough & my body was going into survival mode

I've just made the lentil dahl from mr harriatt... anyone got any tips for making it a bit more interesting? I've added chilli powder and cumin.

ETA Lost 3.5 this week but that was partly due to having gains the previous two weeks as I drank a lot of alcohol which i find gives me a 'false' gain if that makes sense. Want to get my 2 stone before OHs birthday on 21 June so I've got 5 weeks.

I made a lovely SW curry last night. I used a bag of Quorn "chicken" pieces, tinned tomatoes, curry powder, red, yellow & orange peppers, onions, coriander powder, S & P and a few raisins. I swirled through some 0% Greek Yoghourt just before serving and we had it with boiled rice.

Frogga I have porridge oats stirred into a mullerlight with a banana & it keeps me full from 7am til 1pm.
Mix the oats into the yogurt the night before & leave in the fridge overnight.
It sounds vile but it's lovely.

It makes great sense to me. Alcohol is an all too easy way to bump up the syns count but having alcohol free days makes it very easy to eat syn free IYSWIM.

I adore Turkey. We go most years for a break, next one in the middle of June. If you're in a hotel Turkish breakfasts can be brilliant for SW. I always have plenty of tomatoes and cucumber and my hotel does boiled eggs to order. The trouble is the bread is absolutely moreish and to be avoided. I used to take Pagen crisprolls but they seem to have disappeared from the HEB list so any listed crispbread to have with your breakfast is a good idea or take your own cereal. Unfortunately, the resort we use doesn't seem to do diet mixers at all but I always manage to drink loads of water. If you're S/C there's an abundance of wonderful SFs like peppers and aubergines and all sorts of salad bits in the markets.

I've been out to lunch today. Garstropub type place so small portions but definitely not specially SW friendly. I won't tempt you with what I had.;) This weekend is eating up bits and pieces from the fridge/freezer as I don't want to shop as we're away next week. I'm working on the what goes on quickly comes off quickly plan for next week's holiday.:D

we are SC this time, going to Gumbet which is a first.. Sure it will be nice, plenty of things to go and explore by the looks of it :)

agree on the bread and love those 'pretzel' shaped ones you get in all the shops.. will have to refrain from one a day :D

Am going to take a few things, mug shots etc but never go mad eating or drinking when away.. actually lost weight on holiday last year! :p

    Morning People :j

I'm still managing not to binge so pleased about that :D

I am missing the fruit though. My friend said that Melon was ok so I'm asking the question to the experts...

I used to eat stacks and stacks of pineapple and red grapes which I was told from one of you are FULL of sugar so not such a great choice. Also I eat punnets of nectarines and peaches which I expect are the same.

So are melons any better? I had a big wedge of watermelon this morning and I could cope with that, it was ok. What about blue berries and raspberries? Are thay very heavy on the sugar? Because I really love them too?

    Have a good weekend people.
