Thanks Stef, I'll look out for those! I haven't noticed them anywhere yet. They are a bit dear too aren't they - I can get a 6 pack of velvet crunch in Poundland for £1 - which are 4.5 syns and much nicer so I might just stick to them.

Thanks for the encouragement Maman - seems going near the scales and buying new clothes (numbers and sizes ) makes us all feel like crap!!

    Hi MedMum,

I think I must have a very heavy brain, because I don't look like the weight that I am, everyone tells me that (not that I go around telling people how much I weigh!).

I'm only 5ft 5 & a half inches, but at 14 st I'm a curvy size 12. I have a very big bum and hips but a tiny waist which means that my trousers are tight on the top of the leg, but they gape at the back. I'm also a size 12/14 top, but my arms are HUGE with spare skin and fat so I often can't get tops over my arms, especially something that doesn't give like a blouse :o

I'm sounding really attractive am I not? :o

You must have a heavy brain lol. I'm 5.4 and when I was 14 stone I was an 18 !!! I need to be 13 stone or less to get into a 16, 12 stone gets me into a 14 and I've never been smaller than that.

I'm the opposite to you in that I've a big belly and slim arms and legs (well they used to be slim) the legs aren't so slim now once I got over the 15stone mark!

I read somewhere that if you are going on a diet or starting something new it should never be a Monday - people who started on a Tuesday or Wednesday stuck with it longer

Don't beat yourself up - if you are obese at 4st overweight - i'd hate to think what i am! at 9st overweight (i.e. 50% of me is fat!)

The numbers on the scales are not the be all & end all - it's how you feel in yourself and how comfortable you are at the size you are

Get back on it today & chin up xxx
i started on a monday and my wiegh ins a monday ... oops lol

Ive just had a look at the 7 day sample menu on the slimming world website

Its waaaayyyy more than I usually ever eat

Surely I cant eat more than I do now and still lose weight?

Typically for me at the moment I eat:

Breakfast: Porridge made with semi skimmed milk, plus a banana, Cup of tea
Snack: Grapes or satsuma or fat free yoghurt
Lunch: Either brown bread sandwich with chicken and salad or a salad with some meat in there, maybe a bit of cheese and some pickle
Dinner: Normally meat and veg, no potatoes or chips
    Drinks: Water throughout the day

There seems to be tons of food in the sample menu. Surely Id be putting on weight if I increased my food intake??

Dreadful couple of days for me as I had a big breakfast meeting on Tuesday morning. It was in a hotel and I made the most of it  Actually I did have a huge plate of salads but also had some stuff that I shouldn't have had. I did however keep away from the breads, jams and cakes - must look on the positive side.

On Tuesday evening we were at friends for dinner and I really thought I would be able to have a good meal as my friend is also struggling with her weight. We sat down to soup to start which she told me I could have as it had nothing in it except celery and apple. OMG the top of it was swimming in oil - even my kids commented to me afterwards!!!

Main course was baked fish, peas and new potatoes (greasy) and salad with an extremely sugar-laden dressing. It's amazing how people forget the "extra" calories that they put in their food.

Dessert was cheesecake - I am absolutely gone when it comes to cheesecake - I simply adore it.

I think I mentioned the other day that it was a holiday here and it's otherwise known as the cheesecake festival. We were invited out also for lunch yesterday and there was more heavily cheese-laden foods and more cheesecake - I was soooooooo bad :eek::eek:

I went for an hour's walk last night to try and attack the damage but a hop on the scales this morning shows that I'm up a couple of pounds this week - totally deserved - WI isn't actually until tomorrow but we're going away this evening until Saturday night (more food!!!!) so official WI will be next Friday. At least I have two possible zumba classes next week to try and work some of it off!!
ooh i agree cheesecake forget anything else :)

Lost half a pound this week. Gained 1.5 pounds the week before.

I mustn't lose sight of the fact that I am 2 and a half stone lighter than I was 5 years ago (just found an old notebook) otherwise I get disheartened. That includes the weight below which I've lost in the last year.
