  • Scales - get one of your kids to hide them away in their room and then just don't go there! You have grown up kids like me so you don't need to wander in there (and probably don't want to either :rotfl:)

Breakfast - I also like a big breakfast and I've tried a couple of different things on SW.

Current breakfast is two slices of toast with two cheese triangles and a huge chopped salad on top. Sometime I make a two-egg omelette in place of the cheese.

I used to make a vegetable frittata every single morning - tons of vegetables (I buy the frozen mix), stir-fried with lots of onion and sometimes a grated courgette too. Then pour over a couple of beaten eggs and sprinkle over that 45g grated mozzarella (lower fat so you get 45g instead of 30g of other cheese). Let is set on the bottom then transfer to the grill section of the oven and let it set on top. Delicious and really filling.

Frogga I have porridge oats stirred into a mullerlight with a banana & it keeps me full from 7am til 1pm.
Mix the oats into the yogurt the night before & leave in the fridge overnight.
It sounds vile but it's lovely.

    I've got WI this morning.

I think its one of those weeks for every body! I swear the Freddo's in my fridge were calling out my name last night - and I've haven't even got a sweet tooth.

I ended up having 2 but still within my daily syns so not too bad I suppose. I'm tired this week and a bit cranky with work pressures and that always leads to me craving junk / comfort food.

I can't believe tomorrow is Friday at all! Really looking forward to my Mexican meal tomorrow night - really hoping for a stay the same on Monday as it is also my birthday and I don't really want the bad mood that a gain will put me into on it.

Frogga - I love a boiled egg with a slice of nimble for brekkie with laughing cow triangles sometimes and also a muller with some branflakes. I also make up a Quiche and have that from time to time with Cherry tomatoes. I go through phases with Breakfast at the minute its Muller.

Good to see all the returnees and the newbies :)

    Morning,

Good to see you back Psycho and G&B, welcome back on the wagon!

Well done one your loss Gettingthere :D

Frogga - Well done on getting through the day, it will definitely get easier now. Re. scales - you say "I know if I said I was throwing them, they wouldn't care", so your 'weirdness' as you put it WOULDN'T be affecting them - they don't care! There's nothing wrong with putting yourself first. Maybe say to your OH (and maybe kids as blokes don't tend to pick up on hints very well!) "some people on MSE were saying it'd really help me to get rid of the scales and I agree, but I wouldn't let my issues affect you lot as I know you use them" - you'll probably find they tell you not to be silly or else just remove them themselves!

Re. breakfasts - I know you're cutting down on fruit but maybe try and alter the type of fruit and go for something more water based like melon. Personally I can't stand the stuff but when we did the 'change your breakfast' week in class I started having frozen berries, and they only have something like 150-200 cals for the entire punnet. At first, having berries, yogurt and 1 weetabix meant I was peckish mid-morning but this wore off after a few days.

I too got through last night without a binge, which was difficult but feel much better now and like I've avoided the slippery slope. Had a different tea to what I'd planned and used syns for cheese sauce, so even though I did still have enough syns for a Freddo I just had berries and yogurt in the evening as chocolate probably would have set me off. It's crazy how things change so quickly; last week I was going great guns and nothing could throw me off track, this week is more of a struggle. I blame hormones! ;)

    EE today:
    B: Berries, yogurt, honey (2), 1 weetabix (half B), milk (A)
L: Lentil, bacon and veg soup, plum
T: Chilli and rice (that we didn't have last night), half a pitta (half B + 0.5)
S: Apple, Freddo if I can be trusted to have just one! (5)

Have a good day folks :)

    Morning All

Fab loss gettingthere :j. My loss this week has spurred me on even more for next week, my DH said I deserved it as I had been very disciplined :D

I had no hot choc in the house last night  so had diet juice instead with a kit kat, so total syns for yesterday were 9.

I was all organised & prepped all my lunch today & forgot the pepper for my salad at lunch, so todays salad will consist off lettuce & cucumber :rotfl:

Blodwen - I know you & I still count the pitta as our HEB, I see you have it at +0.5? I have it at +1? :rotfl: I am still using the Asda ones

    Todays EE Plan

B - Berries, FF Nat yoghurt
L - Toasted WM Pitta (HEB+1), 1/2 tin salmon with tomato sauce (1), salad (0.5), melon, strawberries, pineapple
D - Lemon Cod, Actifry herby potatoes, salad
    S - Banana, toffee muller

Syns 2 for milk, total so far today 4.5
HEA -30g cubed cheese to have with with pickles tonight

:wave:gunsandbanjos, good to see you back and I'm sure you'll soon lose those pounds now you've taken yourself in hand.:)

Frogga, I go for variety when it comes to breakfast. I tend to have cereal just once a week (twice if you count porage) and I choose to have that on my WI morning as it's the lightest breakfast I have IYSWIM. I think the most generous cereal is Puffed Wheat as it's very light and you get a decent bowlful. It doesn't have a great deal of taste (a bit like popcorn without any flavouring) but I enjoy it with some fruit on top. So my choices would be:
    • cereal with banana or berries
    • porage with banana
    • kippers with slice of toast
    • half tin of beans on toast
    • boiled eggs with slice of toast
    • scrambled eggs on toast
    • variations on full English (sausages, bacon, fried egg, mushrooms, tomatoes)
I have my toast dry as I find nibbling on dry toast takes longer than gobbling down a piece of bread and butter or buttered toast. If I want to avoid using my HEA for breakfast, it's a good idea to fry LO potatoes to go with your eggs and beans. Some of those breakfasts don't have SFs. I balance my SFs across the day so may have a banana/satsumas mid morning if I haven't had any for breakfast or just have plenty with lunch/supper. I choose these as they're easy to eat/carry in my bag. If I want to make more of a 'meal' of fruit I'll either chop an apple into a small bowl of cottage cheese or defrost some berries and eat with a dollop of Total 0%. Sitting down and eating it with a spoon seems to make it feel more substantial.

Supper with friends was fine last night but then we went to theatre and came back to nibbles! and loads of drinks:eek: I feel really stuffed and lethargic this morning. Plenty of veg for me today and definitely no wine syns.

I still count the Asda ones as 1 but am just going to have half a one (if I can persuade OH to share) to use the other half of my HEB from breakfast, so counting the half as an extra 0.5 syns :)

Any recommendations for a yummy comfort food type SW Dinner ?

What I would like is Chippy Chips, gravy and cheese or curry and chips! Obviously not going to have this but feel the need for something comforting and tasty!

Any suggestions ? I am going to Mr T on the way home so will be able to buy whatever if I don't already have it in....

No reason you can't have that, SW chips, make up a curry sauce using the mushy pea recipe (or the chip shop one) & cover with cheese if you have your HEA left or you can syn the cheese?
