My aunt was diagnosed with Fybromyalgia a few years ago, its a horrible disorder, I hope you don't have it x/QUOTE]

I most probably don't have it & probably losing my Excess 7-10 stones (yes really :( ) will sort a lot of it out. It was just that I looked at the symptoms list (bit of an error)

    What are fibromyalgia symptoms?

Fibromyalgia causes you to ache all over. You may have symptoms of crippling fatigue -- even on arising. Specific trigger points or tender points on the body may be painful to touch. You may experience swelling, disturbances in deep-level or restful sleep, and mood disturbances or depression.

Your muscles may feel like they have been overworked or pulled. They'll feel that way even without exercise or another cause. Sometimes, your muscles twitch, burn, or have deep stabbing pain.

Some patients with FMS have pain and achiness around the joints in the neck, shoulder, back, and hips. This makes it difficult for them to sleep or exercise. Other fibromyalgia symptoms include:

    Abdominal pain
    Anxiety and depression

    Chronic headaches
Difficulty maintaining sleep or light sleep
Dryness in mouth, nose, and eyes
    Fatigue upon arising
    Hypersensitivity to cold and/or heat

Inability to concentrate (called "fibro fog")
    Incontinence
    Irritable bowel syndrome
Numbness or tingling in the fingers and feet
    Painful menstrual cramps
did have BEFORE I started taking the pill
Poor circulation in hands and feet (called Raynaud's phenomenon)
    Restless legs syndrome
    Stiffness

But, as with most things, I'm sure the symptoms I do have can be put down to something else :)

Okay Mum - funnily enough, a guy has just came into our work to go throught the corporate healthcare plan but I am too stingy to pay £28/month for it, I wouldn't mind sports massages & chiropracter but it would work out more expensive, he is trying to sell the dental & optical plan but I go twice a year - scale & polish =£22, opticial am not due an eye test for another 2 years
    btw what is 30ds?

On her bad days, she cannot even lift the kettle if it has water in it, and she sleeps - a LOT! For her birthday this year, I made her a Fibro-hamper with lots of things to ease her symptoms. Good luck with the weight loss journey & everyone here is great :T

Frogga, I would suggest having a look at the site www.myfitnesspal.com and just log in your calories for a couple of days.

I agree that having lost a lot of weight your calorie intake now needs to be a lot less.

It's really made me look at my food in a different way - just because it's "free" doesn't mean that it's not going to have an effect on your body.

It's made me think a bit more about the choices I'm making for my meals every day. I'm still following the principles of SW but the quantities are different. It's WI for me tomorrow but I had a quick peep this morning and I'm down almost 3lb. Hopefully by tomorrow morning it will be the full 3lb!!!

I'm so glad that's helping mm. I'm sure it's a good motivator and if you like that sort of app it serves as a bit of a food/exercise diary as well. And if you lose weight as well!!:D

Thanks for telling us about WLS proposal. It certainly provoked discussion. I think it just demonstrates how this weightloss/gain thing is so tied up with the mind as well as the body.

Glad to hear you're feeling a little brighter beanie.

monkee, that link was REVOLTING! And keep away from Dr Google, it's dangerous!;)

WI for me this morning and I lost just half a pound. I was a bit disappointed as I thought I'd had a fairly good week. It's illogical really (how I feel about it I mean) as I'm now just a pound inside the low end of my target range so couldn't really afford to lose much more. What I want to do is be right at the bottom (or below) before I go on holiday in about 10 days so I can afford to eat out happily. I think there must be a discrepancy between what I plan and what I eat. This week I'm going to do a plan and a food diary. I'm out to eat on Tuesday evening and I've got people coming on Wednesday and staying over but I can be extra good until then. I can! I can!

I know exactly how you feel Maman - I have been hovering between 8st 4lb (bottom of my target) and 8st 7lb (target) for several months but have recently started to creep up by a couple of pounds although I am still in my target range. I have been making a concerted effort over the last week or so, before it gets out of hand, but cannot seem to shift those pesky few pounds

Like Medmum, Macpep & Lantanna I have been using Myfitnesspal to track what I have been consuming in the way of calories and do seem to be over by about 100-150 per day (they recommend 1460 for my height/lifestyle etc.) even though I am eating exactly the same foods as I always have on SW. Sometimes the weight just doesn't seem to want to budge :(

I didn't use the Myfitnesspal when I was losing weight and I am sure I must have been consuming the same amount of calories then, if not more, than I am now.

If someone had told me a year ago I would be weighing in at around the 8st 7lb mark I would have been extremely pleased but now I feel almost disappointed that I can't stay at the bottom end of my target range - weird or what

    Thanks for that, it helps.:)

I put on 3 lbs at Easter and lost 2.5 of it last week by just following the plan. I thought I'd been doing much the same this week. Obviously not!

Well done to the losers :j

God, those articles are both horrendous! I can't understand some of the comments about the NHS on the funnel one though- surely just the headline and photo scream "American!"?!

Macpep - I'd probably avoid the shred if I were you but depending on how bad it is you might be able to do some but leave out the abs stuff so you don't pull on your neck. Weirdly, when I walked to the post office at lunchtime I noticed I was unconsciously pulling my tummy in as I was walking, and have been whilst sitting at my desk as well - maybe the shred is actually doing something for my woefully weak core? :)

Thanks Pennylane, off to read it now.

Maman, 1/2lb is still 1/2lb and at your weight that's a good result. I love reading your posts because you remind me how much we need to stay focused and not just for now but for all time.
