Im religiously using my fitness pal and have been for over a week now. I have to say I find it very good. I actually enjoy playing about with it and seeing combinations of things that I can eat lol.

Off to T tonight to do the weekly shop - the joys and I'm cream krackered today! Looking forward to my Japanese meal out on Saturday and pleased that I've gotten to thursday with no blips!:rotfl:

    So today's menu

B: Muller Light and Slice of Melon

L: Tuna with red onion and sweetcorn in passata with a small amount of pasta

D: Massive Chicken & Ham Salad (Looking forward to this)

Weather is terrible so tonights shopping will have to be the cardio!

Have a good day all! :T

Me too Lantanna and I think it helps make better choices. It certainly makes you more aware of the extras in your daily food choice such as sodium and sugar.

    Morning all,

Interesting discussion about surgery- I don't know anyone who has had it done so can't comment but I imagine it must be really odd to see the rapid changes in someone.

Busy day in work for me and then having to hire a van for a few hours to pick up some sofas at short notice - means tea will be late and may end up just having something quick but I shouldn't complain as we're getting 2 good sofas for nothing! Our house is so big that anyone who is throwing stuff out assumes we'll take it, which we usually do but the house is slowly filling up! Was planning to either do 30DS or cycle to work today but tonight's new plans have scuppered that, hopefully moving the sofas will provide some exercise. Did do 30DS last night and pecs still hurt from the press ups! As soon as I started the jumping jacks though the back of my knee hurt, think I have pulled something slightly so probably best to lay off the shred for a few days anyway; we are planning a nice long (although OH doesn't know it will be long yet ;) ) bike ride on Saturday which should give the legs a decent workout.

    EE today:
    B: All bran (B), milk (A), banana
    L: Thai chicken salad, plum
T: Meant to be Thai red chicken curry (1) and rice but we'll see - either way I need to use up the chicken.
S: Apple, pineapple, yogurt, mini milk (2), Spiral (6)

Have a good day folks :)

beanielou I hope you are feeling a bit better today.

I haven't posted on here for a few days but generally I have stuck to plan. The problem for me is I have cancelled my online membership so can't check things so working from memory. I am still getting the SW magazine for a few months.

Today I have had porridge made with water with milk from allowance (HEA and B)
Plus half a banana and a tomato. I used to have 2 bananas a day but wasn't losing weight so have gone to just one and not every day.
    Lunch is dyno rod soup
Dinner beanie chilli non carne with brown rice
snacks 4ldi low cal hot chocolate drink,

WI today and 3lbs off :j:j:j:j:j:j
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

had an exercise failure today because of my IBS playing up :( still sore :(

was suggested I looked into fibromyalgia. I really wish I hadn't :( Will just revert to most Dr's view instead that losing weight WILL help instead.

    menu:
    B - yog
L - salad (lettuce, cue, toms, peppers, celery & ff dressing), 2 x fried egg (used 1 cal spray thing) & 2 slices of beef. Bowl fruit salad (pineapple, apple, pear, grapes, plums) & ff nat yog
T - smoked haddock & veggies (carrots, leeks, peppers, mushrooms) in nat ff yog with sw wedges.
    S - hot choc (2)

My aunt was diagnosed with Fybromyalgia a few years ago, its a horrible disorder, I hope you don't have it x
Frogga, I would suggest having a look at the site www.myfitnesspal.com and just log in your calories for a couple of days.

I agree that having lost a lot of weight your calorie intake now needs to be a lot less.

It's really made me look at my food in a different way - just because it's "free" doesn't mean that it's not going to have an effect on your body.

It's made me think a bit more about the choices I'm making for my meals every day. I'm still following the principles of SW but the quantities are different. It's WI for me tomorrow but I had a quick peep this morning and I'm down almost 3lb. Hopefully by tomorrow morning it will be the full 3lb!!!

Good luck with WI, I have used my fitness pal since starting SW (well actually used it when I cut down to 1200 cals a day), I mainly use it for logging my weight, as a lot of the food I eat is made from scratch its kinda hard to input calories.

I weighed myself this morning & showed +0.5 lb; I am not taking this as gospel as official WI was yesterday, like a lot of us just now, I feel like I have hit a wall with my weight, interesting CH27, perhaps what you said about frogga also applies to me?? I have not had any decent loss in weeks either +0.5 or -0.5 :(. To be honest, I am getting a bit cheesed off & feel myself going down the route of eating more because its not working, I know when I first started & was getting regular losses that it spurred me on even more, but I just feel so deflated today :(
Beanie - hope you are ok xxx

    EE for me today

B -Toffee Muller, banana, benefit bar (1/2 b)
    L - SW Quiche (a), salad,(1) pineapple
D - SW chicken, veg & rice stir fry with extra veg thrown in
    S - hot choc (2) benefit bar (1/2 b)

    Pooh - great loss!

hubby has agreed (at least for now) that we don't buy bread anymore. We both love it, but usually waste half the loaf & it often leaves me REALLY bloated after :(

You soon get used to it. Hubby and I gave up bread a year ago and we manage fine. :) I can't tell you how much better we both feel (and we've both lost a similar amount of over 1.5 stones.) I used to feel bloated and get awful indigestion and I never do now.

    Thinking of you Beanielou.

MM about 8 years ago one of my close friends had weight loss surgery. I am not sure how many different types there are; my friend had a gastric band fitted. She paid for it privately and went down to London for the operation. She stayed overnight and then I met her at the airport the next evening. She was very wobbly and I was really concerned about her. It was about an hour and a half drive to her house and we had to stop at the services as she needed the toilet urgently and I think that persisted for sometime for her. She had to carefully follow a plan, but like your friend steadily lost weight. Eventually she looked fabulous. She kept it off for 3/4 years then for some reason it all began to pile on again and she was back to the dieting cycle. I don't know how typical this experience is though.

A friend of mine had a gastric bypass and it is truly scary to see her when she eats something wrong and she has what is called "dumping". That's basically terrific pain in your chest where you think you're having a heart attack and you feel light headed and sick. It can happen if she eats a tiny cube of ham and forgets to chew it thoroughly or if she eats too much sweet stuff. As daft as it sounds she knows that she can eat a chocolate bar in a day. If she eats more than that she is very ill. Because the psychological stuff is never sorted with these ops she often chooses to make herself ill rather than just having one bar. How crazy is that?

There is an article in the DM today about gastric bands and bypasses. I'll see if I can link it.
