    Morning all,

TIE - hope things get sorted for your son and the stress eases, can't be easy dealing with all of that.

Beanie - I know the post-binge guilt all too well but it's done, you can't change it so try and put it behind you and make the rest of the week really count.

Mel - well done, fab loss! :D

MedMum - good luck at the docs and let us know how you get on.

Prudent - thanks for the tip about farmfoods- have one just down the road so will have a look.

Frogga - I have to agree with MedMum - if your family are supportive they will be fine if you just ask them to either not have naughty stuff in the house or keep them hidden away. I had a bit of a go at OH the other day and called him unsupportive for sulking about me not letting him have pizza that day and I feel a bit mean, but when I explained that sometimes I feel it will tempt me off track he was fine and just said he'd have it when I wasn't there, problem solved. You need to start putting yourself first, and you family are all adults so if they want a certain thing that you'd rather not have in the house they can go out and get it themselves! I know what you mean about eating anything whilst in binge mode though, I have eaten sugar form the bowl as well :o
As I said yesterday I really think it's you mindset rather than your eating that needs to change - yes you are planning to cut back on fruit a bit but you won't be starving, so why do you see it that way? Have you seen anyone about changing the way you see things, a counsellor or therapist? Just a thought as you seem so friendly and polite towards others yet so negative and almost nasty towards yourself, maybe talking to a professional will help? You're far from being the only one- most people who have been very overweight or very underweight (often both - I've been to both extremes) have very black and white thinking, and the grey areas are the key, i.e. being able to have a treat without feeling guilty, and being able to have a little of something in moderation without triggering a binge. Good luck, and we're all here to support you :)

Made the cauliflower pizza last night and have to say, even though it was a bit faffy to make it was fab, much better than I imagined it would be. I tweaked the recipe a bit and reduced the amount of mozzarella and parmesan to make 1 HEA between the two, and added a bit of mashed potato powder to thicken it, but I was able to cut it into slices and pick them up without it all falling apart :D When OH wants pizza now I'll be able to have it with him!

    EE today:
B: Berries, yogurt, weetabix (half B), syrup (2), milk (A)
L: Thai chicken salad, mayo (1), plum, hifi light
T: Chicken wrapped in bacon, chips, broccoli, carrots, gravy (2)
S: Apple, pineapple, yogurt, Freddo (5)

Have a good day all :)

  • Arghhh am not a happy monkee toady. Got a phone call from Renault garage (who have had my car for almost 2 weeks now) .... They Still haven't got the handbrake part in & apparently they can't even source one in flipping FRANCE where they make the beaverdamn cars!!!!! God knows when I will get the car back but it is a total !!!!!! up ref my shifts! It's ok getting there when I'm on lates because I can walk to bus station and get bus ... but (& so far this hasn't happened YET) if I can't get hubby to give me a lift home (he works in nearby town BUT he sometimes has to do sleep ins & this is when he wouldn't be able to pick me up ...). Any way if he couldn't pick me up then I am !!!!!!ed because my shift finishes 23.45-00.00 & last bus to KL leaves Wiz at 23.47 & I'd still have the 35 min walk once I get off the bus at KL at gone midnight.
But even better is the weekend shifts that start at 08.15 ..... if it just an early that's probably do able - painful, lol, but doable. But If a long day like Sunday (when the buses are less frequent anyway!!) 08.15 - 23.45!!! Gah!!!
    flipping cars!!!

oh but plus side! I weighed myself yesterday & appear to have lost 6lbs. I say appeared to because of wearing different clothes, different time of day, etc & they were domestic scales & I'm not sure of their accuracy blah de blah blah blah. But anyways, it is going down which is better than up :)
when life gives you lemons, stick them in your top & pretend you have pointy boobs.
When life gives you melons, stick them in your top & say you've had a boob job :)

Total is crazily expensive but Asda do their own fat free greek yog for £1 for 500g. Don't know if any of the other supermarkets do a fat free one as my mum has looked in Tesco and Morrisons, and I've looked in Sains and haven't seen anything. I'm also addicted to frozen berries and yogurt - got some (well I say some- was the last 4 punnets!) from Aldi on Saturday, which I think you told us about Maman, so thanks for the tip - save £2 on the same amount from Asda :):money:
I also get the Aldi berries, but they have run out of the summer fruit ones & only have black forest or raspberries which I am not keen on, I am not a lover of greek yoghurt, too thick for me, I get the Aldi FF natural one at 55p for 500g, never noticed if they do a greek one, worth a look next time, not a lover of the farmfoods berries either as they have cherries in them.

Frogga - I eat a ton of fruit, mostly melon so I am cutting back a bit to see how it works for next week. I too feel bloated but no idea until I weigh in if I have STS/lost etc. It is going to be hard for me to cut back, even before SW I ate loads of fruit.
I couldn't weigh myself this morning, battery in scales is dead & I didn't want to take one out of the smoke alarm in case I woke the full house up, will need to weigh in tomorrow morning instead & remember to get a battery!!

I forgot to add EE Menu

    B - Roast Veg Fritatta (a) pineapple
L - 1/2 tin Salmon (1) for tomato sauce, salad, (1) toasted WM Pitta (HEB +1), strawberries, pineapple
    D - Potatoes, ham, cabbage
    S - Banana & toffee muller

2 syns for 200ml skimmed milk for coffee
2 syns for hot choc later

    Total syns = 7

DO NOT say sorry, I love a good discussion :j

They are all very healthy, they eat all the good things, and the naughties. They just eat in moderation. To be fair, they are all really supportive, and it's me that won't ban food, I just don't think that's the way to go?

I don't buy anything that I really like, I buy swiss roll etc because I could take it or leave it normally, just if I'm in the m,ood to binge, well, I'd eat sugar straight out of the bowl!

If I was an ex smoker I wouldn't expect to say to Mr Frog he couldn't smoke anymore? It's my problem, not any of theirs, and I just don't think it's right to say because I may fall off the wagon, they can't have nice things around if they are able to control themselves. It's almost like treating me like a child that can't be trusted?

They are 3 smashing people, I wouldn't want you to think they weren't, and they eat their yummies sometimes and say "oh that was horrible" just for my benefit

Will be interested to hear what doc says this moring

Hopping off to work now, have a good day ....

Frogga I hope you didn't think I was saying that your family are anything but nice - I'm sure they're lovely and I'm sure if you asked them and explained to them they'd be really supportive.

Well the doc appointment didn't produce anything enlightening. He said that I have to give it time - my yoyo dieting over many many years has played havoc with my system. He talking a bit about WLS and said that I should start the process and do the barrage of tests etc that need to be done. I don't have to make a final decision about it until all of that has been done. He is obviously in favour of me doing it and says that he believes I would stay at goal when I got there as I've gone through the process of educating myself on how to eat and how to exercise and he knows I'd continue with it.

He looked back on previous test results and said that my thyroid is absolutely fine.

    So no further forward really.

Just as an aside mm, I had to Google WLS as wasn't familiar. It came up as Weight Loss Surgery, followed immediately by West London Synagogue. I thought that somewhat apt!;):)

The plus is that he's ruling out any nasty health issues and giving you the go ahead to try and control your weight. I suppose it's good that he would be supportive of WLS if you chose to go down that road but I'm sure you (and he) would see that as a last resort. I have to admit to knowing little about it but I've heard that you're expected to lose some weight on your own first so help with that might be forthcoming if you explored further. Meanwhile, stick with the healthy eating route and the moderate exercise that's got to be good for you.

Frogga, I'm like you and enjoy a good discussion (although I respect those that like macpep prefer the 'if it works...' route). I understand that you'd want to keep a few treats in the house for the family. I do the same for my DH but try to buy things in that don't really appeal (like flavoured crisps when I like plain). Strangely, only yesterday I bought him a cake from Greggs as a treat as he was a bit under the weather. I also bought some teacakes and they were calling me yesterday evening!:o:rotfl:
    Fortunately, like you, I resisted.

Not sure about my food today. I've had eggs on toast and have a SW Bolognese planned for supper. In between I'm not sure. I don't really fancy much. I'm a bit bored with the bubble & squeak and stir-fry I've been having. Maybe I'll just graze on a bit of fruit. Not perfect but it'll balance things across the day.

    That is funny Maman.

He certainly knows from my regular visits (I have to have a check up every 3 months) together with the bucket load of tears I shed this morning that I'm serious and have made a really serious attempt at this. The fact that I've stayed the same weight for four months at least shows him that I've not resorted to the old pattern of losing 10 and then gaining it all and more as soon as I stop losing!!

Awwh don't depair - you will get there and have done amazingly well keeping it off!! Someone said the other day keeping it off is harder than losing it in the first place. So right!

Why don't you take a break for a little while ( a week of so) to take the pressure off a bit and just try to maintain whilst you look at new recipes / meals etc to start again afresh. You are putting yourself under a lot of pressure and it might help just to try to forget all about it for even a few days.

I suspect your a bit like me and its either all or nothing with you which is how we put on our weight in the first place and now we've decided that its coming off nothing else will do and we don't have the patience to wait, have stay the same weeks and feel like a failure when there is a 1lb or 2 lb on!

Thanks Lantanna. I know if I take a week or two off I won't get back on. That's what I did last year and it then took me almost six months to get back on in which time I put everything I'd lost back on. Can't do that again.

I'm going to continue doing my own thing which is now a mixture of SW and calorie counting at least until I see if that helps. I really want to lose some weight before I go to the UK in the middle of June so let's see if the limiting of calories (don't read this new people!!!!) helps at all.
