Great thanks for that:T
Think I will give that a blast tomorrow night and see how I get on. Will make it with half and half boiled rice and slimming world chips. Hopefully it will be yum.
Can I take a poll here about who eats syns? Do you or don't you ? If so how many? I'm really confused about how they could help you lose weight! I've googled this and whilst everybody has different opinions on the matter no one seems to have a definitive answer!
I usually average about 8 synns a day. Our consultant says that if you don't have some synns it's easy to feel deprived and that synns is short for synnergy, meaning the combination of free foods, healthy extras and sins. I find evening time is the time I crave something sweet and am very glad of the synns.0 -
I always have all my syns.
This week hasent been good & i have given up even trying to keep track
Great losses.
Good to see you CH27

Lol at Macpep's bendy veg!
Re. Syns - I usually have 8-12 but often up to 15 at weekends. I measure pretty much everything but if I do guesstimate I tend to overestimate so don't try and keep them too low. I use a few through the day and some for a sweet treat at night.
As promised, I did a dvd when i got in, one of the other ones in the set with 30DS, no more trouble zones I think it was called. Debated whether to do one as quads have stiffened up through the day but I did the leg bits gently to try and stretch them out a bit. The abs bit was hit and miss- don't have a mat yet so couldn't so some parts as floor too hard but some parts were just too difficult! Did what I could though and afterwards did 20 mins on Just Dance 3 that we bought last week. Had the leftover lasagne from last night (whilst constantly elbowing the cat away- she'll eat anything!) and felt a bit peckish so had some berries, yogurt and honey to save the freddo for later on- if so (if the cat lets me out from under her!) I'll be finishing on 12 synslooking forward to a red day tomorrow- fry up brunch and burgers for tea, yum!

Weight loss - Apr '12 -Sept '13: 95lb0 -
I've been having at least 10 syns a day sonetimes up to 15. Like maman quite a few of mine are from alcohol! Maybe I should find a less synful tipple than wine.
I weighed myself today and I don't think I've lost anything. In anycase I'm taking this as my starting weight and will weigh in on Saturdays.
I want to lose a stone and thus will put me in the middle of healthy BMI.
So today is food will be:
B: boiled eggs, coffee, fruit
L: lamb kebabs, salad, VLF Yogurt with fruitout to neighbours - we'll see!
So lots of synning possibilities depending on the food at the neighbours - it will be Indian and vegetarian.
I feel better for eating so well but I know it's going to be relatively slow as I don't have much to lose but Maman has inspired me to aim for my pre 3rd child weight.Seriously money saving0 -
Morning all,
Not sure if I'm asking for advice really, or just sounding off...
...I think I may be eating too much. It's difficult to say if things are not working as I'm not hopping on the scales. They knock me off my stride so I've decided to just go with how my clothes feel. And they actually feel quite tight
So a typical day would be as follows ~
6am Breakfast ~ whole tin of baked beans on 1 whole meal roll (HEB) on a bed of watercress and spinach with mushrooms and 2 poached eggs and 30g cheese on top (HEA)
8.30 banana
10.30 mixed veg pot (radish, celery, carrots, onions, beetroot, cherry toms) small pot houmous (HEB)
12.30 rice and spicy bean chilli with loads of veg (onions, toms, celery. mushrooms)
3pm apple and satsuma
6pm jacket pot, cheese (HEA) stir fry veggies (fry light)
ff yog
8pm apple and orange
Now I've written it down it looks like LOADSbut it's all free food. I've had no sins. I have 2 HEA's and HEB's everyday as I'm green and I stick to portion size, ie. weigh out cheese etc.
When I have carbs like rice and pasta I measure out 50g which is considered a portion. If I counted up the calories here there would be over 600 just for breakfast I think.
I have lost 7st with SW so far so I know it works. However, as I say I'm not looking at the scales so I know its hard to say, but I feel quite fat at the moment and my trousers are tight. I eat LOTS of beans, but as a veggie I love them and they are free?
What do you think? I'd be interested to hear, I'm stunned at how much food that is to be honest, I'm a bit embarrassed and I can invisage lots of you being alarmedMaybe I need to realise that it's too much food, and I'll not lose anymore unless I cut back?

Blodwin thank you so much for the mushy pea curry link. I am just thinking about what to make to dinner, so going to try it this evening
. I don't have any chicken in, but will substitute quorn chicken style pieces. I have all the other ingredients. OH has been a vegetarian for years but is now eating fish. I am introducing wee bits of chicken too, so if the recipe is good I might manage to talk him into a chicken one next time.
Frogga the advice about eating on here is fantastic. I ate too little earlier in the week (tiny portions) and came on here for some advice. I increased the portions and have still lost weigth this week. Beanie's weightloss is incredible so I would go with the advice.
Hello everyone
I am loving all the different recipes. I have just had a lovely lunch of coronation chicken from a sw recipe I found online and served it with watercress, red onion, cucumber and cherry tomatoes. Very yummy! Followed with a banana and a rare cup of coffee (usually a tea drinker).0 -
frogga I just noticed your comment about the scales. I don't find them that helpful either as if I have lost I feel complacent and cheat a little and if I have gained I feel fed up and comfort eat :rotfl:
I am sticking with the once a week weigh in. Thankfully the biggest difference I am seeing is in my work trousers. I had to hitch them up a few times this week, but that is a nice problem to have so I am not complaining. My jeans for some reason are a bit more comfortable i.e. no longer digging in, but are not lose yet.0 -

Thank you that is a great idea. I chatted to some of my colleagues yesterday. The biking enthusiasts told me I couldn't get away with a bike under £300, but really should spend £500 plus
Another colleague who lives very near me was much more at my level. She buys her family bikes from a recycling schem which is about 8 miles away. She has very kindly offered me and initial loan of an extra bike that she has (which is great as we are roughly the same height and build) and has offered for her and hubby to come with me and speak to the people at the recycle centre about my needs. She has a lovely bike of her own that cost just £18.0
