    Hi all,

Been working so not been around much, hope everyone is well x

WI tonight, was stunned with 4 1/2 lb off and slimmer of the week.. Amazing how a good result on the scales can give a boost.. Was getting a little fed up with just the 1lb loss in 5 weeks.. Went back to basics, writing down food diary, did a couple of days SE and started to do some exercise now I have a treadmill.. :)

Thanks for that minestrone soup recipe med mum, going to make that tomorrow, have just the right veg that needs using up!
  • Just back from my night out!
So I had 16 syns from wine in the restaurant
Difficult to judge for the food - I ate my HEA with cheese and a HEB with bread (not under estimating as it was a tapas bar with really tiny servings) we had a few meaty things but as each was about 50g and we divided by 5 I really don't think I over ate. Actually, we were very restrained.

But, on arriving home, I just ate a packet of pom bears, 120 calories, 6 syns - oh dear!

All in all, not too bad for a night out.

I even find it helps to hear about people having weeks where they gain as I then enjoy hearing how they manage to bounce back.

Fantastic mich, you just proved prudent's point!:T

Glad you enjoyed your night out mountain girl, doesn't sound like too much damage at all.

I've got my meal plan and shopping list all sorted for the coming week. It never fails to amaze me what you can have with SW. My plan for suppers goes like this:

    fish, new potatoes, cauliflower/broccoli cheese
gammon, wedges, tomatoes, mushrooms and mushy peas
roast beef, roasties, parsnips, cabbage, carrots
sausage and mash, peas, carrots, onions
    burgers, chips, mushrooms, tomatoes, peas
    spaghetti Bolognese.......

    and there's MORE!!:D

Had a bad week again this week. Put on 2lb as I just kept eating whatever junk DH bought in, eg biscuits with cups of tea, crisps because he was "peckish". Have had to put up with this for the last 2 weeks while he's been off following a minor operation.

Thankfully he's gone back to work today so hoping I can get back on plan properly from today and have a good loss at next Thursday's WI.

I have a sore head this morning, which is a bit annoying as I didn't think I drank too much last night - I'm just a lightweight I guess.

    So, today the plan is:-
B: slice bread (HEB), babybel light (HEA), half a teaspoon Latta LF marg (10 cals, so 0.5 syns) strawberries.
L: smoked mackerel, lentil dahl and veg (3 Syns), fruit salad
D: steak, potatoes and veg. Rest of bread and cheese

I'm just planning out the weekend and next week's food now and will go and pick up anything I need this afternoon.

I'm going to do my weigh in tomorrow morning. I'm not too sure what to take as my starting weight as I didn't write it down and now I've forgotten but I'll see where I am tomorrow

    Sadly gained a pound.:(

I have cycled about 25 miles the last few days so it is very unfair. I also get anoyed when people say "ah but it's muscle." How the heck can muscle develop in 3 days.

That's a shame - have you spoken to your consultant about it as this seems to have been the case for a while hasn't it? Are you eating enough to sustain your exercise?

Oh what a shame. That is a bit rubbish. I was speaking to a colleague who cycle to work this morning. He keeps very fit and healthy by doing it. I have been thinking about getting a bike for a while, but haven't been able to afford one yet. I did look at the cycle to work scheme when it was open last month. I couldn't actually cycle to work though as it is too far and wasn't sure if I could just use the bike for general use. I work in a special needs school and we have a workshop that repairs bikes. I know they also recycle (excuse the pun!) children's bikes, so I am thinking of asking them to look out for a bike for me.

That sounds like a good idea. If you aren't able to get a recycled one the cycle to work scheme (at least the one I'm doing) specifies that you use the bike for commuting sometimes but doesn't have to be every day, and it can be used for leisure too. If the commute is too far can you get a train half way with your bike? Some people even cycle half way, park their bike up and get a train or bus the rest of the way, then do the opposite on the return journey. Sounds like a bit of a faff but there are often ways around these things :)

Well done Mich, fab loss :D

DD - lol! He is right though!

I'm feeling the effects of the shred a little more today - fronts of thighs are sore which makes walking down stairs a little difficult! Did some stretches and gentle weights and squats yesterday and will today to try and loosen things up a little, but will have another go with the DVD tonight, probably taking the leg work easy and concentrating on arms and abs. Don't want to go too mad as by this timing, anything I do tonight will hurt on Sun which is went we're going to try our 8 mile round trip bike ride, although atm cycling would probably be more comfortable than walking! :rotfl:

EE again today- think I'm keeping Asda in business with the amount of frozen berries I'm buying each week!
B: Berries, FF Greek yog, syrup (3), weetabix (B)
L: Gammon and egg salad, mayo (1), apple
T: Lasagne (2 - got my calculations wrong yesterday!)
S: Banana, yogurt, might treat myself to a Freddo (5)

    Happy Friday folks :D
