    Hello again.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for the spice sweet potato wedges? They sound lovely and I don't start my group until Wednesday.

Also this is what I ate yesterday, trying to have a go at the diet (so I don't put more on - 7lb on already this year!!).
I made the SW leek and potato soup on the website, using low fat natural youghurt instead of fromage frais as I couldn't get it locally, tasted a little 'sour', managed to get fromage frais since!!!
You'll see it mentioned several times, I actually had it all barr two bowls i gave the kids!

    02/03/13

    Breakfast
1 rasher bacon (grilled, fat not eaten), 1 egg (poached inmicrowave), 1/3 time of spaghetti (out of beans!!)
    Lunch
SW homemade leek and potato soup

    Hard boiled egg
    Tea
SW homemade leek and potato soup
    2 x Satsuma
    1 x apple
    Hard boiled egg
Small piece of quiche, inside only no pasty, query had some cheese in.
    Supper
SW homemade leek and potato soup

any tip gratefully received, not eaten that much friut in along time!!

Well after yesterdays rather naughty day Eatingcake.gif I have done my weigh in this morning....

I am very happy to report a 2.5lb loss :) I probabally don't deserve it but I am rather chuffed with that, so am going to allow myself a little dance dancingcow.gif

I will say though I have this week done a couple more EE days so I wonder if this is what has made the difference. I normally stick to Red/Green as could never quite get to grips with the EE but you guys have really helped me with this so Thank You!! x

    Hello,

I hope you can help me please. I need to lose weight, and want to lose weight so am thinking about joining Slimming World. I am allergic to milk and to artificial sweeteners, do you think I will struggle to find manage with these restrictions?

    Thank you in advance.

First tip i would personally give anyone embarking on SW is not to start changing your eating habits before sign up if the readings on the scales are going to be important to you, If you start prior to registration you will see lower loses on your first week than others who sign up at the same time.
Secondly if you want to get a good idea of the volume of food you should be eating then look on the website at the sample menu. Looking at your menu you are trying to go down the healthy menu route blind folded. The volume of fruit and veg you have will possibly pale in comparison to what you should be eating. As many members on here will say if you start eating the same things over and over your body adapts to those and loses will be slower so variation is also key.

Where does the allergy to milk come in, is it the protein in the milk, the lactose or a general intolerance? Can/do you have other milk subsitutes? What about cheese?
Artificial sweetners can be avoided, you dont for example have to have muller light yogurts you can just have fat free natural yogurt. Meals wouldn't usually have sweetners in i think they would only enter the equation when it came to snacking if you chose the 'diet' versions. If you needed to have sugar in something then this can be classed as a syn.
So as you can see there are ways around it.

    Hi all

Hope there's room for another newbie on this fantastic thread!

I have started following SW plan this week after losing 6st 4lb on my own in the last 12 months using myfitnesspal and doing lots of walking! I am very proud of my achievement so far but hit a plateau in December. Calories are all very well but I felt I needed something that would encourage me to eat a healthier range of food - after all there's nothing to stop you having your day's calories in chocolate if you so wish:) but not exactly healthy! I found I had virtually stopped cooking and was just reheating ready meals. Already feeling better for making proper meals this week and eating lots of fruit & veg - not having to count a banana is heaven!

I'm going shopping later & wondered if any of you lovely lot know how many syns a Spud U Like baked potato with Chilli con carne would be? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
Your jacket would be free without butter, the chilli side of things is more difficult, unless you know what brand they use as canned chilli can vary vastly between 1.5syns and 10.5syns.
If this is the only thing that takes you fancy you maybe best to flexi syn and get back on track with your next meal.

    Hi Stef

Thanks for your speedy reply. I have a general intolerance, but can have a little bit of hard cheese without a problem. I use alternatives such as Alpro 'yoghurts' and soya milk but I didn't know if these would be really heavy on syns. x
