It's hard to say Stef, but I don't feel any worse :)
Are you still in the mindest that you can't eat more because then you wont be 'dieting'? But by eating just that little bit more you are staving off hunger pangs?

    Yes Stef, spot on.

I really don't feel as if I can lose weight unless I suffer the hunger :o

Had our family party. The kids had garlic bread but I resisted. Was quite content with the spicy sweet potato wedgies. Didn't get too many though as my wife and kids took a like to them as well. They were the best wedgies I've tasted.

Still drinking diet lemonade until wine time

So time to re-educate you then, this is not a diet it is a lifestyle change with just a few limitations. Try telling yourself that you are not dieting just making healthier wiser choices and you can eat within those limits endlessly. Make everything from tomorrow all SW for you and the whole family knowing because it is a lifestyle change you are all eating healthier so everyone else is having a plate full eat the same volume instead of feeling deprived. We will get you there with or without the bullying :D

My son's head still hasn't caught up with his body. He has gone from over 17 stone to just over 13stone and his clothing has shrunk from 42" waist to a 34" but he will still insist on wearing his bigger clothes with t-shirts hanging off him like tents that have had the poles pinched and his jeans have the belt pulled so tight on them that he actually snapped the buckle of one set this week. He is wearing 36" jeans however because his thighs feel too tight in the smaller ones.

  • Thanks so much for the welcome everyone!
I really find this way of eating suits me down to the ground. My fruit and veg intake has went through the roof so if nothing else that has to be a great thing!

    My meals today were
b:nothing as slept in until 1pm...oops
L: 2x slices wholemeal bread from 400g loaf (hex b)
    3 bacon medallions (0)
    Baked beans and mushrooms (0)
    2x satsuma, apple, grapes
D: pork loin chops in reggae reggae marinade (3)
SW chips (0) which were delicious
    Mushy peas (0)
    Asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower
Hex a is milk in tea

How is this looking? I have syns left over for a wee kit kat later on which will take my total to 8.5.
I know breakfast has been missed out but this never usually happens ha. A lie in is a luxury so I took full advantage of it!

    Thanks!

Looks spot on. If you have made a drastic change to your intake of fruit and fibre you may want to upper your drink intake other than the cups of tea, so water or sugar free squashes or diet sodas purely to help you not become constipated.

  • Thanks very much! I have been making sure I get in at least seven glasses of water a day. Been trying to cut down on my fizzy juice for now so trying to keep to plain old water and tea :D

    Evening all

Hope everyone is ok :)..having a clear out this evening & have found last years SW pack that I got at group. Just wondered if anyone who was doing the plan at home would like the pack?

It's still in great condition - just has my group sticker on the front of the pack & also in the actual book it has a few weigh in's logged,so if that's not a problem then please get in touch.
First come first served :) .. I don't want any money for it :)

I had SW potato wedgies tonight too but mine were free. Did you use oil for yours?

Thanks Stef. Yes, I keep telling myself and others that I am on a diet. But as you say, it's more of a lifestyle change.
Your Son has done fantastically well. you must be very proud - and quite rightly so.

Hi maman. My SW chips and wedgies with ordinary potatoes have been free using frylight. But I followed the SW online recipe for spicy sweet potatoes and it used oil. I would have just used frylight as I do for normal potatoes - but thought the recipe must use oil for a reason. I take it they are fine with frylight?

I'm up early and need to leave soon, to take DD for her first LAMDA exam. I don't know who is most nervous:o

    Catch you all later :)
  • Hi all

Hope there's room for another newbie on this fantastic thread!

I have started following SW plan this week after losing 6st 4lb on my own in the last 12 months using myfitnesspal and doing lots of walking! I am very proud of my achievement so far but hit a plateau in December. Calories are all very well but I felt I needed something that would encourage me to eat a healthier range of food - after all there's nothing to stop you having your day's calories in chocolate if you so wish:) but not exactly healthy! I found I had virtually stopped cooking and was just reheating ready meals. Already feeling better for making proper meals this week and eating lots of fruit & veg - not having to count a banana is heaven!

I'm going shopping later & wondered if any of you lovely lot know how many syns a Spud U Like baked potato with Chilli con carne would be? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
Start by doing what's necessary, then what's possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.
