    Morning all,

Hi and welcome to the new faces :)

Stef - well done on the loss but I can see it is frustrating for you. I know other people have said well it's a loss and plateaus happen but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have been just a phase for you. I really hope the clinic are able to help, as you obviously work so hard at it (there's no way I could have eaten veg and rice at a buffet, in fact I would have had a major strop at having to go there at all whilst on a diet!) and it seems really unfair that you're disappointed week after week *hugs*

Miss I - ooh, that is a shocker! Although having seen in a magazine the number of calories in supposedly 'healthy' coffee shop cakes like lemon and poppyseed muffins, it appears to be the norm for places like that. I find the iPhone app invaluable when eating out; it has saved me from something I thought would be low syn but wasn't on more than one occasion!

Inazuma - hope the urge to binge has settled down. I've felt like eating everything this week too - have managed to resist in part but still haven't saved any syns for the wine night tomorrow. The only saving grace is, like you, that we don't have anything too naughty in the house so have only been able to snack on the odd Freddo, cereal bars and bran flakes with the few raisins that were left in the bag! (oh and a spoonful of sugar - haven't had sugar in months!). Am a little worried about Sunday - hangover time is the worst for wanting rubbish and if my resolved is weakened at all I may well just say s*d it... :( Will try not to get too drunk and avoid it!

    Green day today:
B: Scrambled egg sandwich (B), banana, milk (A)
    L: Mugshot, WW yogurt, satsuma
T: Not sure yet, possibly soya mince moussaka as got 2 whoopsied aubergines in the fridge - if so then A or B for cheese
S: Freddo (5) - will try and stick to one :o

Have a good Friday everyone :)

    Is a banana superfree?

    Yep, it is :)

  • I'm gutted, was in Starbucks today after an appointment with my specialist and (being a coeliac and not being able to have gluten) I had a wheat free chocolate brownie (which was small). Got home and looked up the value 18 and 1/2 syns! Everything else today has been free.

That's my first mistake of SW!

Don't worry about it too much. It's a big syn hit in one go, but you're only just over your daily allowance so it shouldn't have too much effect. Having said that, brownies are generally pretty shocking syn wise because they're mostly butter and chocolate which really ramps up the calories. But at least you now know for next time! :)

So, I am attempting to get back on the wagon after a very tough week emotionally. Have been managing to keep up my running so hopefully that will keep the damage down a bit, but won't be surprised with a gain.

    Today's plan...
Breakfast - Porridge (HEB, water) with banana and blueberries, black coffee
Lunch - Undecided but will be something free, most likely chicken and salad
Dinner - Lightly dusted sole (5) and vegetables
Snacks - Apple, lactofree cheese (HEA), ff yogurt

Debating saving my treat syns since we're out for lunch tomorrow but I may just flexi-syn that since I've had a peak at the menu and looks like they don't do low syn.

Just realised I rarely mention drinks, it's because I only drink water almost all of the time. In case anyone else noticed and was curious!

While bananas are superfree, some consultants advise to go easy on them and grapes. So by all means eat them but have a range of fruits especially the SS ones like melon, grapefruit and pineapples and most berries. Personally I prefer to fill up on veg. Going to do my meal plan/shopping list in a moment. Apparently lots of SF veg on SuperSix at Aldi this week..

Banjo, you have to stay on te naughty step for a minute of every year of your age so you've probably done your stint!!:rotfl:However, if we see any more yogurt-only breakfasts you'll have to go back on PDQ! Sounds like you're in a good mindset as 1lb a week is almost 4st in a year.

Good morning all. Thank you all for the encouragement to persevere, but which one of you stole the chocolate stash last night that meant no post WI binge?? (Was going to look at banjo but he says he is behaving from now on ;))

So last night was a major drag at group one thing after another was wrong due to laptop having to be sent for repair in week and then the new one not being paired with the PDA meant a lot of people getting funny about having to wait around. Consultant gave me a nod and a wink to try and hold it all together for her while on phone to head office to get support. So managed to run group for her only leaving the losses, gains and awards for her to do once scales up and running :D Will see what feedback she has now to see whether i were any good. Spoke with hubby again over the consultancy position after the info we had from job centre and its not worth it as any earning would go onto the rent so i shall remain a voluntary stand in for our group for now.

So with renewed vigour todays meals are EE.
B, porridge made with water, apple and banana
L, ham and egg salad, grapes.
T, moroccan mushrooms with cous cous and green beans.
HEA milk, syns unknown at present.

Hope everyone else is ok today, remembering its a new day so whatever gremlins got into the works yesterday can be shown the door and started a fresh now.

    Hello All

After a small gain I'm trying to have a good week now so that I have a nice loss next week.

Yesterday didn't go too well. I had an all day meeting sprung on me where lunch was provided. Lunch consisted of sandwiches, crisps and fruit. I had the equivalent of one sandwich and then some fruit. Avoided the crisps and the lovely looking chocolate biscuits that were sat on the table the whole time. I'm pleased that I managed to avoid the biscuits :D

I'm trying to sort out my menu for today. I'm having gammon, egg and SW chips for dinner so no superfree foods. I'm thinking where I can bulk up on SF's for the rest of the day to even it out. Also trying to convince myself that I shouldn't really have bacon and egg for lunch (considering I'll be having gammon and egg for dinner). But it's sooo yummy ;)

Stef, you seem in a much better place this morning :).

It is a shame you can't go for the consultant's position as you would be brilliant - you are always so helpful to all on this thread and I don't know what we would all do without your advice. Hope you get on well at your appointment next week.

Banjo, I think your goal of 1lb per week is great - as it has been said many times on here 'slow & steady wins the race'.

    EE for me today:

B: 2 x Weetabix (HE 'B'), semi-skimmed milk (HE 'A') with sliced banana + bowl of fresh fruit salad
L: Couscous salad with prawns (lots of SF in the salad), Muller FF Greek yogurt (1/2 syn)
T: SW chicken curry with basmati rice (some SF in curry (not one third) but have had quite a lot separately during the day)
S & D: Small fruit juice (2 syns), banana, satsuma, apple, green tea & small (125ml) glass of wine (5 syns)

Total of syns for the day 7 1/2

Have a good day everyone

You did sound quite restrained with that buffet yesterday.Could have been sooo much worse.:T

When I'm having gammon I tend to put mushrooms and tomatoes in the oven with the chips to guarantee some SFs. Then perhaps a banana or other fruit snack before/after. I know we're not supposed to 'save' SFs but I'd also salve my conscience by planning a big stir-fry or loads of veg with a roast over the weekend.
