    Hope that's not true!:rotfl:
:T on your loss today, a steady average of 2lbs a week is excellent.

Looking at your menu, jue, if you're a veggie (or even choosing a veggie day) you might prefer the Green plan. That way you could have an extra HEA&B. So some bread with your soup perhaps?

Just wanted to comment that some in my group tried SE and took it too literally and gave up because it was too much food.. They read the snacks/desserts as compulsory If you're happy with your three meals a day and single courses then that's fine.

I'm someone who averages my SFs across the day. I rarely have SFs with breakfast but make up for it in my other meals. I'm also wary of too much free food on it's own in snacks as I think it 'dilutes' my daily SF intake. Our consultant has been highlighting the idea of having some SF before a meal to take the edge off appetite. It reminded me that the traditional French way of eating would be to have a starter (maybe syn free soup?) then a lettuce course (clears the palate but also SF) before the main. perhaps that's part of the theory behind the 'French women don't get fat' book.

WI for me today and I'm pleased to say I'm now back in target range so won't have to pay next time!:D

LOL yes that was a bad choice of words by me :D

My Consultant keeps advocating keeping a bucketful of chicken drumsticks in the fridge and to keep snacking on them throughout the day on EE. But I am also uncomfortable to do this. The typical Spanish lunch follows a similar structure. First course is traditionally gazpacho or a plate of salad, or vegetables - all super frees. Then 2nd course is the meat or fish. I was amazed when I first experienced this, as I expected veg with my 2nd course, but was told veg and salad is first course.
  • I think what we all have to remember that a loss is a loss, no matter how small. We all didn't get to be....ahem, curvier, overnight, so as much as we would like it to, it's not gonna come off overnight.
I really wish I could wave a magic wand and all my....ahem, curves, would be gone, but I guess that aint gonna happen.
If I can have great food, adapted a bit, wee treats when I want and still get a loss each week, even if that loss is 1lb, I'll take it thanks.
I think I would rather that than be on some other "plans" which would give quicker results but are unsustainable for life.

    1lb a week for 52 weeks = 3.75 stone. :D

Now I just need to listen to my own advice :rotfl::rotfl:

I think the avocacy of eating more free foods between meals is aimed at the new comers who think they have to have a diet that is solely fruit and veg so arent getting any proteins in to balance it out. I know my consultant does say to a few to do the chicken thing others she will advise to go down the route of making an omlette with plenty of sfs so you are eating something quick and balance with free and superfree foods. As there is no stipulation you have to have just 3 meals a day some find it easier to have smaller more regular meals.

Wow, this thread is moving quickly today! Well done Banjo and Eashby on your losses :) Well done Maman on getting back in target range, whichever direction that was!!
I'm also getting bored of eating the same things all the time so need some inspiration. I'm not sure if I should join a group or just buy a few recipe books. I bought the Food Directory which cost me over £20 off ebay but when I went shopping yesterday I couldn't find most of the stuff I looked for. :o

One of the best things I find about going to class is the syns online (mainly the app but also use it on a computer), and the syns calculator. If you're thinking of joining a group it may just be to get the books but having access to the database is great as everything is up to date and it's easy to find what you want.
It's mainly breakfast & lunch as I never used to eat them so have been having Bacon & egg/Bacon sandwich a lot. I saw you can have Weetabix for your HEB but then i'd have to use my milk allowance up & wouldn't be able to have any tea.

Depending on what type of milk you use you should be able to eke out enough for cereal AND drinks- I used to use the 1% fat (orange lid) which I think was about 300ml. The other thing, as has been mentioned, is to use water - I do this with weetabix and porridge and just add a splash of milk at the end, doesn't taste any different.

Banjo - are you sure you can't change groups when you have a countdown? I thought you could, and there's a discussion here with no real consensus, but would be worth checking with a consultant from another group (if you can find one at a time that suits you) as it's a shame that you're not getting your money's worth and the support you should get from your current group.

i find it easier to eat my SF's throughout the day rather than with specific meals, only because if i go to my parents for dinner, i cant pre-empt what they are going to have and sometimes SF's just wont work with it. Like if im having a break in work, ill grab my fruit or veggies that ive got prepared or whole, and munch happily on those, or graze through the day on them when i feel a little peckish
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

you could try to eat more for breakfast, and where are your heb and hea choices

I don't like big breakfasts, fruit is fine for me. HEA is milk in coffee during day and HEB is usually my snack, which I hadn't decided on. (alpen lights or ryvita).

I asked my Consultant and she said I could go to another of HER two Groups. They are both evenings though. My poor kids have only been out at night when we are driving to an airport :o

haha banjo that cheered me up rather nicely thankyou :rotfl::j:beer:

though now that i think of it, over the next few weeks im going to be rather busy so i need to keep a check on my syns.. staff do (VERY late christmas one as we were all sick) on the 1st, a pampered chef (???) party on the 2nd, and a surprise birthday party on the 9th haha.. the staff do will be easy to work out, i can easily swap to plain old D.coke when the others are rather merry and ill be happy, just need to press the boss for where he wants to book so i can peruse the menu before we go
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

Ha, she would say that! If there is any way around it (get someone to babysit etc) I would say give it a go, even just as a one off to see how another group differs :)
