I'm going to get hold of a 30 day shred DVD and give it a go. Then maybe we can try that group challenge someone suggested?

Strangely enough our consultant was talking about exercise in general yesterday. She intends to create an 'interest table' (always reminds me of playschool:)) and a sort of library of exercise DVDs was suggested. Also, some people with really good losses (albeit new joiners) had been using a 'flabelos' machine at the local sports centre and raved about it. Apparently it's vibrating plates and they were doing a daily 5 mins.

I made a stir fry for the first time!!!!
    Tukey,mongetrout,mushrooms,wholegrain mustard, fromage frae.
Was very lush & will make again :)

I love stir fry and always feel virtuous with my huge heap of SFs. I raid the fridge, cupboards and freezer for all sorts of bits of veg. Only just found out you can freeze beansprouts too. I make mine by marinating the meat (tiny amount, beef's my favourite) in soy, ginger (lazy), garlic (lazy), shake of 5 spice (optional) and a sprinking of stock cube and a splash of water if it's not enough. I stir fry the meat then add veg then pour on the marinade mixture. I serve with noodles or rice. Totally syn free and yummy!!

Although my 9lb loss over 4 weeks sounds okay. I have only lost 3.5 lbs in the last 3 weeks, which is uninspiring to me. I'm not going to blame my meds/disease otherwise I will never win. Others in the Group that are dropping 3 lbs+ per week talk of stopping eating a packet of biscuits a day. I've never been that keen on biscuits, cakes etc. I had a fairly healthy diet before SW, just a tad too much wine, and crisps and a beer at weekends.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I know it's disheartening listening to all that nonsense, it's why many people stay away from group! You must believe that an average 1-1.5 lbs a week weightloss is good. 'Do the math' and think where you could be in a year. Enjoy your fishcakes, they sound delish.

I was the same as you, always had a relatively healthy diet but wine being my downfall, (not just at weekends though) became a habit after stressful days at work, was too easy to sit an chill with my wine, and I do somethimes miss my wine through the week, I know its doing me better in the long run and look forward to it at the weekend now, one bottle through the week when me & DH watch our programme together is all i have now, and its counted in my syns :D

I was exactly the same macpep and joined the 'cutting down alcohol' thread to break the habit of week-night drinking before I started SW. I don't think I could ever have contemplated a 'diet' that banned my weekend wine (all saved up for and synned).:D

Well i didnt have the mugshot for lunch i ended up with minestrone soup from Sainsbury's while popping in to get my dad's shopping. With this in mind not being home made my syns will remain untouched now as had the WM roll it came with and 2 cups of tea at dads with his milk so using the syns for those.
The chicken korma from the magazine is lush - didnt have korma powder so had to use tikka but it was plate lickable :p and everyone demolished it which is an even bigger bonus!
Has anyone tried the new limited edition Yeo Valley lemon and poppy seed 0% fat free yog? Picked it up today and it is 4.5 syns for the whole pot.

  • Hi everyone,

Feeling ecstatic to have had an awesome first week at work - have literally loved everyday and actually can't wait to get to work every morning! Don't do Saturdays or Sundays though!

Feeling less happy about my eating, need to get a handle on snacking at work - today not so bad but I have had a little choc at 2syns which I didn't plan on!

B: porridge (HeB) made with half milk (1%, I had 120ml of it which I think works outs at 1/2 my HeA) and half water, 1tsp golden syrup (2syn)
    S: pink and white (2.5syn)
L: pasta with baked chicken and sweetcorn, 3 satsumas, pink and white (2.5syn) jelly (0.5syn)
T: was going to be spag bol but due to bf being super late sue to the accident on the m1 he will have a take away and i am having pasta with sweetcorn, chopped tinned tomatoes and sliced up skinny lizzies (2syn)

so thats 9.5syn plus the little choc i had making it 11.5syn!

Have treated myself to 2 mini bottles of wine so will have half of one of those tonight as a 'end of first week' mini celebration.
Oh, had a tiny coke at work too as was at a lunch time networking meeting - asked for diet but no idea if it was or not :/

Going to get a little flask from my parents tomorrow so I can take soup to work - even if i have to reheat it there it will be nice to have a hot option.

    Right plan for this week:
*1HeB each day until Friday (damage control for this week and next weekend)
*a hot lunch at least twice (only working four days)
*maybe buy some apples so I can diced up one, then add satsuma segments and a chopped banana to nibble on at my desk
*Chinese take away for valentines (low syn, usual options)
*Eating dinner out Friday and Saturday due to the tournament

There's only one morning event at work, breakfast will be provided but I will either eat before I go or keep that day as close to 5syns or less as possible!

    Currently thinking:
Breakfasts: porridge (HeB) with a banana
    snack: 2satsumas
lunch: soup (0.5/1syn)/ravioli (1.5syn)/Pasta salad (free)
snack: pink and white (2.5syn) and hot choc (2syn) OR coffee (milk from HeA) and a pack of special k biscuit moments
    T: something 5syn or less

that places me around 12syns i think...going to try that for a week at work - must be disciplined now until payday!

Your best bet would be to grab a copy of this weeks bella magazine which was released on the 5th Feb and use the voucher for free membership leaving you to pay just £4.95 for the class fee to get your books and all the info you need to get going - this is sooooo much cheaper than Ebay unless you have any mates that have tried it and given up? Voucher valid in group for 2 weeks.
