  • donnajt - :T that's amazing, well done.

Didn't think I'd get any decluttering done today, as I was out all morning, and am busy doing paperwork and applying for a job this afternoon (and on MSE as well :o) but I cleared out lots of random pieces of paper from my car (notes to myself :o) and some rubbish. I also found a box from some outside Christmas lights which DH must have shoved on the dresser shelf with the cookery books (of course, where else would it go ) which I've recycled.
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Oh am soooo back in again. Did really well last year in getting rid of loads, but still LOADS more to do.

So today I bit the bullet and started to sort out the dumping room/computer room/craft room - can you see a picture building here;).

I only have about an hour or two a day to sort/declutter and clean, but have decided that as I clean houses for other people (despite mine looking like it needs a cleaner :o) that I will start a little pot and actually pay myself £2 for every hour that I declutter.

So I have done my first hour and sorted and decluttered as I went.

    1. Pair of old school trousers - CS bag.
    2. Pair of unworn football boots - friend.
    3. Pair of too small plimsoles - friend.
    4. Top too small - CS bag.
    5. Bag of sorted felt tips, pens and pencils - bin.

and I have found a small desk space now that the boys can use to do their homework on :j, with neatly sorted pens etc in pots next to them :D.

Oh dear at this rate it is going to take me till April to finish just one room :rotfl:.

  • afternoon all.

have been catching up on the last 3 pages as I don't think I will be able to read all of them unfortunately.

Love the pictures donnajt! an amazing transformation and an inspiration to us all. you must be so proud.

I need to work out which two days in the next month or 2 I can have off to tackle the decluttering once and for all. I want to do it all in that time and even if things aren't physically gone from the house it will be enough that they are in piles ready to go.

    Have listed on freecycle today:

    flat screen computer monitor
    2 over radiator clothes airers
box of 8 blank rewriteable cds

Just wanted to say that Donna's DD's room now looks fantastic !

I've popped a couple of things in the charity bag today. I think I'm going to update my 'de-cluttering list' at the end of each week, so I can see what has been done in the preceeding week.

When I started my 2013 list, I didn't really have a target in mind, but I think 365 entries on the list would be achievable. In reality, more than 365 'things' would go, as some of the items on the list are multiple items.

Another few baby steps for me. I'm finding this thread very inspirational.:T

Two big carrier bags of books to the charity shop. Lots of rubbish and broken junk thrown away and the bedroom decluttered a little and the dust decluttered up the vacuum. Disgraceful.

Off to do a bit more after tea.:T

Ive gone through hubbys work clothes. He's got much more than he needs and a lot he doesnt wear so they will be liberated to the big workplace in the sky. He's ok for jeans and t shirts, he wears padded shirts when its cold but i could do with getting him a couple of cheap fleeces to replace his tatty ones.

I have to agree! Amazing work.

Well... DD1 is back at school, so while dd2 bounced on our bed the great bedroom clearout begun.
    -2 bags to charity shop
    - 1full of items for ebay
    -1 to tip
    2 boxes recycling
5 bags vaccumed down and stored.
    Dozens of coat hangers gone.
    :j:j:j
We still have to shift out the wardrobes though. Also managed to clear the various piles of laundry.
I have a huge feeling of achievement.
  • I need to declutter too! I have a big box in the garage full of stuff I need to eBay and I need to go through my wardrobe again!
My mum will need help decluttering too as she's soon to move house, from a 4 bed semi (for 15 years) to a 2 bed apartment. And she is the WORLD'S biggest hoarder. And she knows it. This means I have to remove all my last bits from her house also. But only after my exams!
God luck people! And hopefully you may earn a few bob in the process!:T
