if I can't find 13 things to throw out

that day is a dim and distant dream to me too!

I've got about 40 videos: I like all the films, but realistically am never going to watch them again (no VCR) and the space they occupy would be perfect to put my CDs and DVDs in.

will charity shops or anywhere take them or do I have to bin them? it seems a shame to throw them away if they could be of use to someone...

The charity shop my Mum works in doesn't take videos - it would be worth phoning around a couple (if you've got several that are nearby) and asking before schlepping them all to a certain one and finding you have to bring them back again!
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

  • Present finally given to work colleague, so that's another item gone.

Have some items pending on ebay, which will be an ongoing campaign as I plan to list 6 or 7 things every week!

    Hi all,

I guess start small and maybe focus on one room at a time?
Welcome podperson. I've been aiming for 10 items per day and not minding where they came from.

I probably have ended up concentrating on one area at a time, but I think if I picked a room, then it would be overwhelming, as I would feel that I had to finish it and that would be too much work in one go. Once I've got started I usually find more items that can also go, but starting with a realistically small aim works for me.

Good luck, even if you just chuck out a few bits each day, your home will start to feel less cluttered very soon. My house is definitely looking clearer, the kids commented on it when they came home from school. I didn't actually do much tidying today but think it's the first time they've really looked around.
  • Hi fellow declutters!

I've finally decided how to tackle decluttering this year,as I don't really have a huge amount to declutter now.Last year was a pretty good year on the decluttering front.:)

I'm going to try for 365 items.

To start off with, nothing so far,but I'm having a good think.;)

I'm on holiday this week,so hopefully will find a few things to chuck/give away.

    Evening everyone

Had to go to one of my sales units and remove all the Christmas stock, so I currrently have a car full of Santas etc :(

However, did manage to post 9 Ebay items, and take a black bag of rubbish to the tip. Working tomorrow, so won't manage to do anything but will start again on Wedmesday.

I bought both my kids folders and put their master pieces in there, every now and again I go through it and get rid of the least priceless ones x

What a great idea. Mine are in a large cardboard / sugar paper folder in the loft but really need to be sorted out in some kind of order.

Today I have removed a very large toy shop bag full to the charity shop, and also went through my recipe books. Have earmarked four for the FB / car boot pile and some randome papers with recipes on have gone to the recycling bin.
