Thanks for the new thread. I'm in.
I'm in the process of moving house. I started really well de-cluttering as I packed up but then ran out of time, having to pack up and move a load of clutter to the new house, admittedly mainly stuff I want to try and sell rather than just give away or take to the tip.
So boxes everywhere I'm afraid - the garage is definitely the worst.
2013 will be the year I finally becoming clutter free and embrace the minimalist lifestyle once and for all.0 -
Thanks for the new thread Charlie's mum.
I'll be joining in again. I didn't post much last year but I was merrily decluttering along!
As part of my MFW journey I am going through the 9 steps to financial independence program ( details on my MFW diary as I'm too lazy to keep explaining it in full) At the moment I am doing a full house inventory as part of this so as I go I am decluttering and cleaning. I've parted with so many books over the last few years that it was a bit of a shock to realise I still have 108 in our bedroom alone! Goodness knows how many I started with- probably over a 1000

I'd like to join you please. The clutter in our house is stopping me from moving forward and doing the things I either need or want to do. Even worse really is that it's stopping everyone else in the family functioning properly (constantly misplaced stuff, no one can find things that we know we have so then we have to buy another... You know).
I'm going to go with the 15 minute s a day idea and chip slowly away at it all. .Trying to keep in budget.

Who's up for a quick burst of decluttering today? Say for 15 minutes?
I'll see you later to report back :jDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

The one thing I want to declutter is the garden? does that sound mad at this time of the year. These loads of left over pots from the summer, and I'm surposed to like gardening as well.
Fortunetly, due to dark mornings and nightsI only see it at the weekend but its already driving me mad. So I will have a mad half hour doing a little bit of decuttering.
Its not a big garden so I'm sure a little bit, done oftern will help.0 -
I would just list the things if it was me. With regards to pay packets it varies so much. I used to get paid weekly, OH monthly. Now OH still gets paid monthly and I get paid every four weeks, so mine ends up at varying dates throughout the month.
At least you will feel better once its listed anyway
Thanks, I think you're right. I took a mosey over to the ebay board and it appears this whole week is listing free so I will put them up tomorrow, maybe as 30 day BINows to allow for everyone's payday!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
Hi! I think I'll join you all as I too hate clutter!mineallmine wrote: »Who's up for a quick burst of decluttering today? Say for 15 minutes?

Me! I'll be doing it later as I'm off shopping shortly.
I started my decluttering on boxing day:D
There come's a point when everywhere seems so full of 'stuff' that it just gets to you.
I am basically a very neat and tidy person(there's a minimalist hidden away in me somewhere) but my house is too small and I share it with 2 untidy men and 2 dogs:cool:
It is a never ending battle.
I've done ok so far - all kitchen cupboards done:j
Just the understair one in the kitchen to go.
Wardrobe done:T
That's it so far.
Good luck everyone with their decluttering, I'll br back later to see how everyone's done! xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Tomorrow I plan to list a few things on Freecycle or TradeMe (our local equivalent of eBay) so I can get them out of the house. They're in a big box beside me right now and it's very annoying. I might just Freecycle the lot actually as the annoyance of waiting for a week to see if anybody buys them is probably not worth the amount of money I'd make... I'm lucky enough to not need the money so the value lies in whether or not I want the items, and I don't.0 -
I would love to join in this year I feel at least half the contents of my house don't get used.
I have started putting some items on ebay - taking advantage of the free listing. I think the decluttering is going to be a long haul

There are some great websites out there that help with decluttering. I particularly like 365 Less Things (and yes, I know it should really be 365 Fewer Things!) as every day there is a mini mission for the type of thing you should declutter that day. It's very helpful if you just want to chip away at the mountain of crappy possessions in your house!0
