I'd like to join in please! I'm a serial declutterer. I clear out then I gain a new hobby or a bunch of gifts and the clutter takes over again! My latest hobby is sewing and a sewing machine and fabrics etc takes up a lot of space. I think I will try to make more homemade gifts this year to declutter and save money at the same time.
I hope to declutter 365 items by July 1stDecluttering 2015: 2162/20150 -
I'd like to join in.
My house is seriously cluttered and living with Mr Neat & tidy can get really difficult.
I like to do craft so have bought tons of stuff over the years, and DH seems to think I can just throw it away, rather than eBay it, as it doesn't cost £££.
There is no point arguing about sell lots of low price items still adds up plus it would scare him if I did add it all up!
My mum was a hoarder, old newspapers empty boxes etc and DH thinks I have the same
I don't think so, just with 4 kids I don't have the time!0 -
Could I join as well? My first job is to declutter my wardrobes in my bedroom which I plan to finish by the end of January and then drawers in my bedroom by the end of Feb.0

Would love to join in. I'll keep following for a little and read the motivating tales to spur me on. Thank you I really do live in a hovelThe secret of Christmas

I'm in - the 2012 thread gave me more impetus to declutter in 3 months than at any other time in the previous 10 years. I've got the next 2 weeks off work so I'll catalogue my progress."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

so long, digital clutter!
I've been doing exactly the same thing with emails
I've also done a lot of decluttering over the past few months. Today we took down the christmas tree and decorations (tossing a few I really dislike) and the place looks so much nicer after a good polish and vacuum to boot :rotfl:0 -
We don't do Christmas decorations so at least I didn't have any of that to deal with! They do add a lot of visual noise, don't they?
I've just finished doing some work in the kitchen. We had lots of old coffee jars in a cupboard so I've repurposed them for holding cooking ingredients in the pantry, which allowed me to free up some cupboard space and also deal with all the half-packets of this and that lurking at the back of the pantry itself.
We still don't have enough space to hold all the spices (42 jars and maybe 20 other packets/boxes) and bottles of sauce, ketchup and that sort of thing, and the pasta and noodles section is a mess, but at least the middle of the pantry is looking good now
Maybe I need to do more Chinese cooking to declutter some of the four bottles of soy sauce we seem to have acquired!0 -
Many thanks for the new thread. I'd like to join too please!
I found the 2012 thread inspirational and I hope that by de-cluttering my home, it will also help de-clutter my head!:o I will probably add a (hopefully achievable) target each monthDecluttering 2013 challenge. GC Jan 2013:£100 spend/£240. 20p Challenge 2013. 50p Challenge. £365 in 365 days. I WILL Mealplan and not change my mind!0 -
Can i join please
Got a loft full of stuff that needs decluttering, 2 DS wardrobes that needs sorting and a understairs storage that is full :eek:0 -
Hi
I would like to join in this year. I have 'stuff' that just gets moved about because it has no proper home so just gets moved from table to worktop to shelf to table etc...
I also have a garage full of things, It has become a dumping ground for everything that is not currently required by myself, DH & 2 DS's.
I often look at the mess and don't know where to start so I just ignore it all.
Now I AM going to tackle this one day at a time untill it has all gone
Also I have decided in 2013 that I am not buying anything new unless it is absolutely essential.
Hoping to get lots of inspiration from you guys.
Good luck & a happy and tidy new year to you all.0
