Less coming in, more going out - I'd forgotten the other benefit of de-cluttering - finding things that you thought you'd lost or forgotten you had.
Yesterday I found my spare iPhone charger & 2 Cineworld tokens. That takes care of entertainment this weekend - "Gravity" in 3D here we come....:jShifting my energy for 20200 -

A huge hello from me :wave:
This thread is just what I needed to get my butt into gear, my house is in serious need of a declutter and a deep clean so I may be on here for a while
Our living room & kitchen are not so bad cos these are the rooms we use the most so I tend to keep on top of the clutter and dust, its the rest of the house I need to tackle because its starting to depress me, I cannot even bring myself to look in the spare rooms cos they are such a mess.
So after reading this thread again last night, I have decided today is the day I start sorting it out and this time I'm going to do it! xG.C July £21.09/£1000 -

Welcome Jacksmummy. I find aiming to sort out a whole room is daunting so I've been aiming for 10 items a day, every day no excuses! I did this for a while at the beginning of the year, now re-visiting the challenge for November as the house was starting to fill up again.
Decluttered today:
Old tin opener (got 2 other better ones)
Bag of papers from my daughter's toy drawer
Jumper
Bits and pieces left over from lip gloss making set
2 magazines (read them both last night)
Book
2 pieces of children's sculpture

Everyone's a bit quiet here this weekend, hope you're all ok and just busy.
Welcome Jacksmummy I have quite a high 'clutter & dirt' threshold, then one day I just snap as it gets too much so I know exactly what you mean. Hopefully this thread will help. Baby steps is definitely a good idea and then you'll find a system that works for you, whether it's counting things, doing 10 minute bursts, doing one room at a time or a little from everywhere etc etc. Recording stuff here really helps me.
I've made more progress over the last few days:
106 - 122 sold a wardrobe on Gumtree which has been collected, I know a wardrobe is one item but it was in bits in the loft so counting the bits individually.
123 - 138 sold a box of lightbulbs & switches we'd removed when we moved into the house, also on Gumtree
139-141 3 glass rammikins from Gu recycled, OH keeps keeping these but decided we had too many :-)
142 broken picture frame bin
We did more sorting and I'm sure we threw other bits out but can't remember any specifically. House is definitely starting to look better though :-)Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
