Evening everyone.
Only decluttering I've managed over the past few days is getting rid of the weeds on the driveway & front garden. And pruning 2 large bushes. Glad that the garden bin is getting emptied by the council tomorrow.
And also got rid of some cracked/broken plant pots0 -
decluttered an RC car and board game todaySPC~12 ot 124

Just found this thread and seeing as I've been deck uttering thought I'd share
Finally admitted that the clothes I have stuffed everywhere are either never going to fit again or are far too young for me now so three bin liners to the charity shop and two bin liners to the recycling centre
Also 30 pairs of assorted boots, shoes, sandals and slippers
I can now fit in the clothes I do wear, which always sat in the ironing basket because there was no room in the wardrobes lololo
Next I attacked my bookshelves. Two cases for charity and a bagful to a friend with instructions to give to a charity shop after she has read them
Then I attacked my dressing table and half a bin liner of really old cosmetics and junk really
Now I'm looking at my hot press. It's stuffed with sheets and duvets etc. but it's too hot ATM.
Still the place is still a mess but I'm getting there slowly.0 -
Am feeling very pleased with myself. Freecycled two dining chairs which were very nice but never ever used and given to us by friends when they downsized. Also two ikeea bucket chairs. There's only the two of us now, we have a sofa each as it is ! Cot is now packed away in loft now DGD is in big girls bed, and I've put a lovely wooden trolley in there as its in the way downstairs. Her spare granny's house clothes, bath towels etc are on it, and some bedtime books. Have sorted through three 'man' drawers with DH. He has kept all kinds of carp, but thats ok cos its now in his man shed. So glad he got that, saves arguments over all the old plugs, bits of wire that we will one day use. Done the undies drawer . Now got to do the PJ drawer. I just have that feeling that when we get back from hols I will be wanting to paint sitting room as I will notice the muck when Ive not lived in it for two weeks ! That is if it cools down. Now what else can I chuck out ...........0

I am back from our holiday. I am up early today to do the ironing this morning. OH has gone to the tip this morning with an old fridge where the door has fallen off, he also taking several large cardboard boxes.
I am planning to go the charity shop today with an old wok and some other bits and pieces. The window cleaner is coming at lunch time to clean our windows and conservatory roof, they haven't been cleaned for over a year.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. After reading through this thread 2 days ago it spurred me on to start a mass clean out of our house
So far over the last 2 days I have done:
3 trips to the tip with garden rubbish just 1 more load to go!
6 bags of books, clothes and ornaments to the charity shop
I've totally cleared under the stairs so that is where my sons toys are now stored
Pictures I have been storing for the last 4 months have been put up on the wall in the hallway
Dining room has been completely emptied, new curtains have gone up, just waiting for the new carpet to go down next week.
Today I plan to empty the living room, hoover and polish throughout
Give the downstairs loo the last coat of paint
then start to empty the pantry ready for it to be painted.
My house is starting to look fab :jG.C July £21.09/£1000 -
Great progress today.
* Sorted through some old paperwork and have either filed it or shredded it. Old insurance certificats, instruction leaflets, old bank paperwork for accounts that I no longer have etc.
* 7 x paper logs have been made and 2 buckets have been filled with more shredded paper with water so that I can make more logs next weekend.
* Today have been a bit cooler so I spent an hour or so in the garden and generally tidied up. The garden bin is now half full.
I never went to the charity shop today, decided to keep the bag as a motivator to continue to look for things that can be given to the charity shop.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

No progress at all today. Had to go into town to take some stuff back and get curtain fabric for DGD. Am planning to get a decent airer for the winter to try and avoid using the dryer. Come to conclusion I need somewhere sensible to store the ironing board and airer. Food for thought. DH may well be part of the construction plan. Early bed and early up in the morning to try and make the most of the day. Hope to end up with a big box of stuff to give away/recycle.0

I'm noticing a pattern with my decluttering - it matches the kids school breaks
Ousted all the none working felt tips, used colouring books have gone to the recyling bin.
Can't decide whether to ebay the pile of clothes that I've filtered out of the girls' cupboards or just drop it at the various charity shops.
Likewise with the girls toys. Hopefully I'll get hubby to go up in the loft today to bring down my material box so I can sort through the bits I gather through the term0 -

Not sure how large your landing is but we scrounged a 6' length of 1x1 and have it going across the landing balancing on the 2 door frames. It provides loads of space to hang up drying clothes and they are not in the wayAll that is gold does not glitter
All those who wander are not lost
