  • Flyingmamma, thank you. You are right, chin up it has to be.

Ate a big frog today, for first time DS and DD gone to stay with their Dad for a few days. I sent them off cheerfully this morning and I rang them this evening and they sound absolutely fine. They are only a couple of miles away, but strange for me, longest I have ever been without both of them. Gave myself a couple of minutes to be weepy when they had left, then thought busy is the way forward, put some music on the radio and got on with it. DD's bedroom is also now clutter free and sparkly. Also on the plus side, I can have a nice bath without anyone coming in to use the loo :). Will be doing a bit of comfort eating, had a stroll to local shop to get chocolate.

I may find some energy reserves a bit later to do a bit more before I put my flannelette pyjamas on (end of May!).

    Keep Smiling :)

went in the attic yesterday brought down 5 full length mirrored wardrobe doors and all the bits of cheap nasty mdf that make up the rest of the wardrobe, it wasnt nice 28 years ago when we bought it so lord knows why we struggled to get it all up in the attic. anyhow it is now all i n a pile on the front awaiting a tip run next weekend.
also bought down a box ful of DD3s converse and trainers, going to persuade her to put them on eblay about 8 cardbord boxes came down with them they will hopefully go as eblay packaging.

been in attic again fro a couple of hours. 4 big bags of magazines out for reycling (mostly N64 and game boy monthly which i dont think are now worth saving as the consoles are obsolete!)
found a load more empty jewellery boxes will ask DD if she wants to eblay them as a job lot if not they are down the CS
    broken xbox head set binned
water filter for a filter we no longer have binned
2 plates and a fish tank pump in the CS box

got to dyson the landing now as a bag of polystyrene beads somehow got mixed in with the mags i was throwing down out of the attic so they are now everywhere.

    morning declutterers
went back in the attic again yesterday afternoon, found a load more mdf and hardboard from other pieces of flatpack furniture (about 14 panels of assorted sizes) all brought down to get rid of.
a carcass from a chest of drawers!! - the mirror broke years ago and te drawers have been used elsewhere -remind me again why that was put in the attic????
a box of ratty tatty old posters we used to have up
2 big bags of clothes that should now fit youngest (they were his brothers) ive told him to try them on what fits goes in the laundry what doesnt goes in the CS bag.

There are tons of cuddly toys up there scattered about the bags have split when people went up to reclaim one or move them about, i need to rebag those and rehome some some to the next school fete that has a cuddly stall. - if i feel the need to go up again today that will be my task.

Hi all- not posted on this thread before.... I live in a small 2 bed flat and have A LOT of stuff.... which I'm working on :) Got this week off work so always a good opportunity to take stock! I've got someone coming later today to collect a bag of old towels from freecycle that they wanted for pets and a bag of soft toys.
Let's see if I can shift anything else before the week is up!

    morning all

Did a tip run last night all the wood, mdf, mirror panels and plastic boxes are now in the right recycling bins and not cluttereing up my attic or driveway.

this morning im going to bag all the mags i stacked on the landing after mondays attic foray. i told the whole family they would have a few days to take any they still wanted and any still on the landing by friday weer going out for recycling. Well no one has so much as taken a peak at them yet so away they go.

had to ring the dentist tis morning as chewing on a piece of gum last night i declutterd a filling and half a tooth. Cant stop sticking my tongue in the huge hole its left.

    editted
now have 13 bags of paper/card recycling ready to be taken away
just took a stack of the last 12 months of essentials mags down to the hairdressers, also gave her a moneybox as she'd broken her tips box.

    Good morning

I haven't posted here for ages though I am steadily working on clearing my spare room which had become a horrible dumping/storage room.

I do read your inspiring posts occasionally when I feel overwhelmed by the size of the task.

Have lost count of number of bags taken to cs and each weekend I am listing items to sell.

Anyway thought I would mention that there is a free Kindle book on Amazon today about Speed Cleaning and Organizing

One of my decluttering goals is to stop buying print books (as I have hundreds) but I do allow myself to add books to my Kindle (preferably free ones) as a Kindle hardly takes up any space :D
