:T Well done to you all for all your decluttering this week.

Tonight I have spent some time sorting through a bucket full of various coins that OH has collected over the years. We are off to Spain in a week's time and I now have a bag full of Euro coins to spend (I am sure it will pay for a dinner).

Apart from that not done much this week.

I didn't manage to sort through the mail last week so got to do that this weekend.

Today I sorted the last couple of boxes from the big shed clearout. Got 2 big boxes condensed to 1 small box (which has a mixture of stuff to keep and stuff to ebay), 1 box for CS, and a box of toy farm/zoo animals which I'm offering on freecycle, and the big boxes have been put in the green waste bin. Also binned loads of stuff, and the drawers in the sideboard in the shed, now only contain a piece of rope, a washing line, a door stopper and some adhesive hooks.

There was a carrier bag in one of the drawers, which had been in there so long it had disintegrated! As I pulled out the bits, I found a dog collar and lead, which belonged to a dog which we had in 1984, when we lived in our flat! I'd completely forgotten that was in there, as we've lived here for nearly 22 years, and haven't owned a dog since the one the lead belonged to.

OH took the last of the CS stuff, from the shed, to the shop today. The next thing we need to do in the shed is sort all the screws, nails etc and get them into some sort of order, so will do that when we get a nice day and we're free to do it, we've both got a week off the week after next, so maybe we'll do it while we're off.

Hope you don't mind me de-lurking but I am feeling quite proud of myself today for making a small start to my mess!
I have been through all our paperwork and managed to cut it by about half, then I went through my long neglected card making supplies and found that most of my hoard of unused envelopes have stuck themselves down so I have got rid of all of those, then I tackled the huge box of padded envelopes and mailing bags - got rid of all except a few of those (about 5 each of mailing bags and envelopes). I found a huge stock of fabric shopping bags which aren't really big enough to use for shopping so I have donated them to the school for the kids.

Feeling motivated by this I sorted the kitchen drawers and dumped loads of junk I never use and which has seen better days then raided the pantry and got rid of the 7 empty chocolate tins I just had to save after Christmas.

I can go to bed happy tonight and hope that I still have this much motivation tomorrow for another go! Goodnight all!

Haven't done any decluttering in a while but got rid of a binbag full of stuff today, mostly clothes/undies that have seen better days, old paperwork and general rubbish that's been lying around for far too long. Have also cancelled paper bank statements and opted to do everything online which will prevent any more paper coming in (apart from the essential stuff).

Yesterday I went through my wardrobe to choose clothes for our holiday next weekend. 3 items of clothing will go to the charity shop. A couple of sample sized toiletries will be used up during the holiday as well.

Our recycling bin is filled up with cardboard and bottles & jars ready for the collection tomorrow.

Next item to do is to do an hour or so with ironing.

I finally did the ironing today, it took more than 2 hours to do. While I was busy doing that OH made 20 paper logs from our shredded paper.

Also, threw away 2 broken pepper mills that OH has been storing on the worktop for months. I emptied the content from the mills into a pestle and mortal and grinded the peppercorns.

I am also taking a couple of old crossword magazines with me on our holiday. Hopefully I will find the time to complete them.

I ventured into the loft this morning. I was reading that the vinyl versions of the Now That's What I Call Music albums have suddenly seen an upsurge in popularity.

Selling off my old albums is one of the decluttering things I want to do, so I went in search of the Nows. I have them from the start until about 1988, when I switched to CD's I've found the first album in the series, and some of the others, but we have so many records up there, I couldn't locate the others. But at least I have something to get me started. Incidently, I gave up on the Nows in the early 2000's when I realised I didn't know any of the songs on the new albums !

I was also dismayed to find some more 7 inch singles, I thought I'd sold all of those. So I've brought those out of the loft too.

Here's my update of things that have left the house

someone was telling us the first 7 or 8 of the Now' albums are really valuable rare and sort after.
so make sure you get a good price for them.

finished another book today, i will pass it on so that something else to be decluttered.
