Morning All
The sun is shining here in the East Midlandsso best make the most of it.
I haven't posted for a while, but been plodding, and my home is a work in progress. State of play: bathroom and DS's bedroom uncluttered and sparkly clean. Rest of house could do with good clean and tidy, bit of clutter/odd cupboard outstanding here and there, leftover piles from previous declutters, etc. Garden front and back quite tidy, half way through garage declutter (lots of spiders ). Guineapigs' home - clean. So, all in all, feeling quite positive. I have realised that the list to keep the house nice is never ending, but rooms are SO much easier to keep clean and tidy with less stuff in them.
We have at least had breakfast here, so itinerary for next few hours, shower and dressed for me, DS and DD washed and dressed, my bed sheets and DD's bed sheets need trip through WM and putting on line, quick tidy around, walk down to Mr T to get few out of stock items. Might get around to cleaning another room today. Feeling bit fed up re: separation from not so dear H, find it best to keep busy, so I'm going to get started (just one more cuppa first).
Love to all. Keep filling those bags and taking them out of your home! Guineapigsqueaks x

Had a good sort out on the study/third bedroom.
So much stuff, CDs etc.
OH has actually started sorting and shredding some documents from when he was chair of an organisation, from which he retired 10 years ago. Need to clear the lift of the stuff that went back when we cleared it before. :cool:Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Hi everyone
Last time I posted I was very down in the dumps, I think the good weather has given me a wee boost.
Cleared a bit of my bedroom by finally building a chest of drawers I've had sat unbuilt for a year:eek: still some to do but I have a place to put my clothes now.
Last time I was complaining about my dear daughter who had messed up her room after me tidying it. So the upshot is I left it, didn't nag her but she finished her exams during the week and had some free time with what was left of study leave. She's gutted all her schoolwork from her room and chucked all of her subject paperwork she won't be doing next year ( not sure that is a good idea but she couldn't wait to be finished with a couple of the subjects!!!). She's also asked for a bookcase as she is an avid reader so I have one to declutter from my living room she can have. So I am pleased she has made the effort without me putting pressure on her during her exams.
Started on clearing my garage, just a little bit but nice to see a bit of space in there.
As for the dining room...well...no more progress. I seem to jump around from area to area chipping away at little bits. This morning my youngest couldn't find any Wii remotes so I gutted a wee corner of the living room and ended up with one large bag of rubbish and a big pile of papers for recycling...well done dear son for nagging me to find the Wii remotes! Lol
So little bits done, I have to say that the better weather makes it sooo much easier for me to be motivated, if only we had a bit more sunshine.0 -
I think we all feel inspired to clear things out when the sun is out too!Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I’ve recently had an ‘in’ of a desk, which I got off freecycle. I’ve been after one for a while to put my sewing machine on, so it’s permanently set up ready to use (the theory being that I may then use it more, lol), and also for all my sewing accessories to be stored in the drawers. It will live in the spare room, where it is at the moment but it’s not exactly where I want it, as the room needs to be cleared a bit more before I can put it in its permanent home. I have sorted some bits and all my sewing accessories and material are now in the drawers of the desk, which emptied 2 storage tubs from the cupboard of doom, meaning I had a bit of room in the cupboard to store some of DS’s boxes from the spare room.
Also got rid of a huge cardboard box, as I managed to condense the contents of 4 other storage tubs, which left me with another 2 empty ones, and I’ve now put some of my ebay stuff into them. This week OH has gradually been taking the stuff we sorted out in the shed to CS, he has just a few more bits to take during this coming week.
Today I sorted out the newspapers and free mags that come with the weekend papers, which have been at the side of the sofa, was a bit shocked to find that they dated back to the beginning of this month, lol, but all are now at the recycling centre.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

not been on for a while so here's a progress report.
Made up 5 boxes for cs from stuff decluttered from different rooms. Bathroom is now decluttered after a brainwave to decant all bogof shower gels into one large empty shampoo bottle. much more space now.
Have nearly found my lounge after a massive declutter. working on craft cupboard now so that when the 20 tubs are gone can hide boxes from bedroom in there and do one at a time.
slow and steady. but progress being made. Can at least have visitors now lolDeclutter 2005. 32/20250 -
Hello there fellow declutterers !
I haven't posted for a couple of weeks, but here's a list of what's gone out in the last couple of weeks
257 Old photo album – eBay
258 Old slide viewer – eBay
259 Mixed old papers – eBay
260 5 x Ladies Trousers – eBay
261 Blouse – eBay
262 Old jeans – clothing bank
263 Old postcards – eBay
264 5 x mens trousers – eBay
265 Pair mens shorts – eBay
266 Pair ladies shorts – eBay
267 4 x jigsaws – eBay
268 Book – eBay
269 Old socks –clothing bank
So progress is still being made. My target was 365 things for the year, so I'm well on schedule. Also, there are multiple items in some of the entries in my list, so that's even more individual things that have gone.
I'm away on holiday in September for 24 nights, so I'll probably stop the declutter around mid August to prepare for my holiday and I don't expect to get back to normal until mid October, so that'll be two whole months out. Therefore I'm pleased to be ahead of schedule.
Also I've unsubscribed to several email mailing lists, so there much less clutter in my in box.
Good luck with your efforts everyone !Early retired - 18th December 2014

Afternoon all, busy few weeks, still chipping away at the loft while still trying to declutter the rest of my house. Got rid of lots on eBay, mainly clothes, big bag of OH's clothes weighed in for cash, box of bric a brac/toys/clothes to charity, big bag of clothes n shoes to ds's friend, bag of clothes to niece, decluttered upstairs bins (how do they fill up so fast ), few bottles of toiletries finished, recycled lots of bags and boxes to post eBay items.
Probably won't get much done this wk as its half term!0
