:rotfl:should ave carried on reading before my jaw dropped, i sat here thinking "That is extreme decluttering!":rotfl:
toolboxes and tools etc are now in garage awaiting a "sunny day for DH to go through them"
while up there i got down another 8 carrier bags of birthday cards and playschool paintings, ive decided to cull them all except special ones ie parents siblings and godparents. i dont really think the day will ever come when one of my children ask to see if auntie whoever sent them a card on the 4th birthday and can they see it. im finding cards from school friends theyve forgotten they were friends with.
already put 1 full brown bag out for recycling along with a cracked washing up bowl that was also in the attic (Why?)SPC~12 ot 124

as well as birthday/christmas cards ive been culling school stuff, id got what looked like everything my children have ever brought home from any learning establishment up there. found 3 carriers of playschool stuff my youngest had done, hes in his teens now and has produced better, so lots of it is now recycled, there is a folder now to go back up.
table is cleared of paperwork clutter and magazines and looking much better.SPC~12 ot 124

Afternoon everyone :hello:
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages since I last posted on here. Too much clutter in my life I'm afraid (emotional and physical!).:o
Sitting in front of me is a charity bag for the local air ambulance which came through the door last week and is being picked up tomorrow. There's not much in it, but something is better than nothing isn't it? I need another look through my clothes as I'm sure that there's plenty to go in there as well as the books.
A declutter of cupboards is required at some point...

- An attic full of school projects. I am surrounded by pictures and "Space ships" the kids have made. They would be so cross with me if I outed them. Still it's tempting.
Love the feeling you get when something you would have thrown earns a few on ebay, well done.0 -

we have 5 and the youngest is in his teens so we have an attic full. Ive hung on to it for quite a few years so hoping im not coming across as heartless but some on the things ive kept are little more than a splatter or line on a huge sheet of paper, also they been badly stored so are now pretty battered and creased.
ive almost finished another ball of wool from my stash and its going towards a charity blanket so will be leaving the house eventually.
not sure what else ill find to cull today
someone gave me a tip to help with the guilt of culling childrens masterpieces, photograph them then once they've been displayed for appropriate length of time they can be culled to make way for the new one and you have them stored on a memory card which takes up far less space. was told a bit too late to help me but could be helpful to others.SPC~12 ot 124

I'm joining in a bit late, but I definitely need to join this thread! Have read a few of the pages at the start, looks like it'll be full of ideas and motivation
I've been living between 2 houses for the past 10 years, and the end result is my room in my mum's house looks like a bomb's hit itI can get into it, just about, but moving around is difficult. We are hoping to buy a house towards the end of the year (combining with my mother for a more suitable property), so the whole house needs to be de-cluttered before we can even get around to getting it ready to go on the market. Major task ahead, my mum's almost as bad as me for clutter!
Hoping to get loads of motivation from this thread0
