Another little declutter frenzy. Got rid of another batch of old bras, barely worn special occasion jobs now too big
pjs, shirts x 2, raincoat and jacket.
Wait for the big one ... DH agreed to get rid of THREE pairs of jeans. All on appeal of vanity - I asked if he planned to have a 34 in waist again and he was not pleasedhe's wearing a 30 at the min
that said he won't let me dump the 32s.
I'm pleased with that little lot.
Now off to relax in a lush bubble bath - also decluttered from back of bathroom cabinet!0 -
Also I came across this today and found it inspiational, especially for those of us who are plodding our way towards declutterinf. hope you enjoy!!

Sorted the takeaway containers today. 4 tubs and 10 lids binned. How do you end up with an odd amount? The ones kept will be used for batch cooking.
Also finished off a bottle of conditioner so that's one less item cluttering the bathroom. If only I could finish the never ending bottle of shampoo.
3 items sold on ebay ready to take to the post office in the morning before work.
Long day at work tomorrow so I'll get nothing done again.
In other news, the building society did the valuation on the house I'm hoping to buy today. Just need to wait on the outcome of this now. it's starting to feel more real :eek:Starting mortgage balance 22/04/2013 £71,250
Overpayments to date £410
Current mortgage balance £70,6500 -
Not done much recently (story of my life) but have decided to try and get rid of 10 things a day for the rest of the month. Feel a bit down about it all today, as started off so well and since Christmas I just seem to have done nothing. Oh well.
Haven't got rid of anything today, but listed about 30 things on ebay, so hopefully at least some of them will go!0 -
Decluttered the last of the huge Buddleia bush today.
Then opened up the garage - recycling company coming tomorrow. We usually have them collect plastics, metal in fact any stuff that our local council doesn't recycle. The front end of the garage is a bit emptier now. Then it was on to the other end of the garage - found lots to chuck.
So now there are 30+ bags of plastic, computer, keyboard, monitor, video player, storage chest, laundry basket, metal and other bits outside the garage door waiting to be collected tomorrow for £5.
Plus we put a buggy, child's doll's pram and some wood out by the front wall for people to help themselves - most gone.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Did anyone see that programme on tv last night 'obsessive complusive cleaners'? Really good... Those sort of shows always make me clean so I didn't see the end of it! Will watch next week... Hav to say we hav no clutter compared to some in the show... Wouldn't like to spend 19 hrs cleaning a day either though! I thought some of the people helping to sort out clutter and dirt were really lovely. Inspirational! If anyone gets a chance watch next week! Raining out and I'm still not driving after c sect so gonna stay in and do some cleaning/decluttering!No more toys til Xmas 2022 , mfw 2023 challenge , Trying to not waste food , time or money and appreciate the moment more!0

Yes, I watched the "obsessive compulsive cleaners".
This declutting is really addictive. I would like to think most of us on mse are somewhere in the middle of both worlds.
I think this may have been the 3rd in the series? The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
There was allot of empty cardboard boxes in the loft yesterday from the major sort out, so this morning I loaded them into the car and took them to the local recycling centre (which is one of those near some shops not the main one). Then I went to Cash 4 Clothes and got some money from the almost final sort through of clothes.
The final load of the bric-a-brac went to BHF this morning and I was able to get rid of all of it :j
Now we are pretty much down to the smaller stuff. There are still a couple of big black bags of rubbish up in the loft but when our main bin gets emptied next week then we shall bring those down and transfer them into there. We think we have about three main bin loads to go before the end and we can do that over the coming weeks.
The absolute worst has now been dealt with, now it is just going back through and really cross checking and being ruthless as to what we have left.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
