I've finished my catch up, well done on all the progress everyone :j

I'm a bit tired this morning as both DD and DS woke at various stages in the night and have been up with DS since 6am. But I do have to crack on today.

    To do
-clean the house from top to bottom (this may take a while :o)
-do some washing (the pile is huge so school uniforms is the minimum)
-ironing (again at least school uniforms)
-sort ebay collection for this afternoon
-6 ebay items to parcel up
-check mealplan for coming week and write shopping list if anything is needed

It's free listing on ebay today so
    [STRIKE]-relist unsold items[/STRIKE]
-list one item that I have to re-do the photo for
-list stairgate (that I didn't get around to doing last week)
-list linen basket no longer need
-list four other small items currently on dining table

Also have a large pile of records that need listing but I may not get around to doing this. I think it would be best to do these all in one go as people may want to buy several, but I never seem to have enough time to do deal with them in one sitting. I may have to rethink this and just aim for 5 today?

Also realised that I forgot to buy any meat in for our roast today so need to ask DH very nicely if he will go out for some.

    Happy de-cluttering everyone :)

Well my bombsite has gone from bad to worst - got rid of quite a bit but I found xmas stuff in the cupboard which means I now have to empty the other side of the stairs cupboard so i can put it all together. Also found DD's baby box, which I have decided to go through and combine with DS so one big job has now turned into a million and one jobs!

Didn't help that family came over yesterday so by time we got home from shopping it was gone five...DD stayed at grandparents, DS in bed by 7:30, so DH and I snuggled up, treated ourselves to an indian and watched a film...off to parents for Sunday lunch so gonna stick DS in front of TV and have a mad hour...will report back

    Morning all

I think I am getting good at my declutter answers.

How many do we need? when did you last use it?

Oh is getting better at wow , look at the space, that looks better.
along with do we really want to throw that out? we have had that so long...

De cluttering today. I have a corner in the utility room that needs a tidy.

I want to start a new craft. patch work with some old cotton clothes.

Emptied laundry basket - washer - online - then clothes horse.

Done the ironing that was piling up.

Went shopping at Asda. De cluttered their whoopsies for them - now in my freezer. Shame their was not more loafs today.

Not sure how to start the patch work, as I want to get the sewing machine out. I think machine sewed patches will hold together better than hand sewn patches.
I will look online for some lessons. I want to craft the mse way and not spend anything :)
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)

Hi, I'm currently selling off all our vinyl.

I'm currently working on the singles and soon I should be able to move on the the LP's

I don't know what sort of reciords you have, but this is what I've found.

70's and 80's singles are very slow to shift if they are sold individually - in fact I don't think my life would be long enough to sell them all on an individual basis ! :rotfl:

I've found that selling them as batches works better. I've sold them in batches of anywhere between 25 and 70, and have realised prices of between £12 and £40 for the batches.

I do them as postage free, so I have to find the postage cost from the sale price, so I'm not making a fortune, but they are going out the door.

The 50's and 60's ones are a different matter. I've sorted out some of the more interesting ones, and listed them individually, and they have sold on the first listing for up to £6 a time.

I've also tried small batches of 10, and they sell quickly as well.

I'll be moving on to LP's soon, so I'll have to work out the best method of listing them.

It's been quick a productive week for decluttering.

Here's my summary, I'm pleased with what's been achieved this week

    128 1970’s Y fronts (don’t ask!) clothing bank
    129 Batch of 1970’s singles – eBay
130 Old jeans – clothing bank

Firstly a huge congratulations to flyingmamma on the birth of baby Freya :j

I haven't posted in a long while, and basically nothing much has been decluttered since then :o. The cardboard/clothes mountain in my bedroom is still there, although it did get sorted a bit.

I have put some cardboard boxes in the recycling that I was saving for ebay/amazon packaging, but as I have another 2 piles of boxes and envelopes I figured I'd never get round to using them. I bought a new food processor as my old one had a broken bowl. I'm going to put the mixers and blades, etc on ebay and if they don't go I'll take them to the tip. I did put 10 items on ebay this week and only one has a bid on at the moment, I also sold 3 items on amazon so they've gone :T.
I managed to find another trees worth of paper in DD's room ~ where does it all come from??!!!!

Also binned/rc'd various bits of toot from a kitchen drawer, including takeaway menus (on a diet :naughty:), dried up elastic bands, a pot of vampire blood which had leaked (not real, just fake halloween stuff ;)), and an old dirty lunchbox which had been sitting in the back of the cupboard for about 3 years

I really do need to try a lot harder. I'm so impressed with everyone who has managed to clear all their stuff and keep on top of it.

  • I've much improved the paperwork pile in the kitchen, mostly current stuff in progress now :j.

Ironing basket decluttered and all put away.

Had a good tidy around upstairs.

Necklace I'll never wear in CS bag.

DS and DD's uniforms out ready for tomorrow.

Thinking about quick declutter of lounge carpet with hoover, really needs doing and will look loads better if I just get on with it :o.

Going to shut myself in kitchen later and do a bit of baking while I also sort tea, set myself up for lunchboxes this week, just some flapjacks and chocolate crispie cakes will do I think as I know I have all the stuff for those and kids (and me) love them.

I've finally joined the Grocery Challenge from next month, hopefully keep me on the straight and narrow in that area of my spending :).

Hope everyone is having a good day, keep going, you'll feel better when you've done it, whatever today's challenge is for you x

    Keep Smiling :)

The garage has been blitzed :j:j The Land Rover had to be pressed into action and sent to the tip because it was pretty full!! Tip was a nightmare though!!

Loft kind of gone through again, three big carrier bags full of books and videos (videos not DVD's) for the CS tomorrow.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

Try Craftsy.com for some free online classes:

This is quite a good book too from the Book People:
    http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100&productId=265739&searchTerm=quilting

I started patchwork and quilting last year, it is addictive, particularly buying gorgeous fabrics and useful quilting gadgets. Not necessarily helping with my decluttering, but at least it's made me clear out cupboards so I've got space to keep my fabric!
