  • Made a start on my clothes this morning, and as we were going into town to meet friends, took them straight to the charity shop, along with a few other bits I sorted first thing.

    1. 2 burned up scented Christmas candles in glass jars - recycling
    2. 1 china rabbit ornament
    3. 1 sweatshirt top
    4. Christmas card that didn't get delivered
    5. Loads of manky veg from the fridge - composted
    6. Set of pastry cutters
    7. Toffee apple sticks - not sure why I had these, I have never made toffee apples in my life!
    8. Tall Christmas cookie tin
    9-12 4 tee shirts

Not much else done today, having a lazy evening and an early night as I didn't sleep at all well last night, in spite of having taken a sleeping tablet!
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

    Welcome hello daddy
Hope you're feeling better soon donnajt
Today has been a good day decluttering. We finally got round to buying sn elephant trunk for the tumbledrier. Our WM and TD are in an out house attached to the house that used to be the coal house. It's become a bit of a dumping ground depite its small size. So once OH had fitted the trunk i got going with the decluttering
    1) battery for car we no longer have to tip
    2) back shelf for same car to tip
    3) rhodedendron food which had gone solid to bin
    4) fat balls well out of date to bin
    5) dried mealworms ditto
    6) photography chemicals to tip
    7) big box of dead household batteries to tip
    8) dead long life bulb to tip
    9) loads of tumble drier fluff to bin
    10) empty colour run bottle to rc
Then cleaned out old swing bin and filled with seasoned wood (xmas pressie with grate for outdoor fire)
Back in the house for a bath
    11) last of a shampoo so bottle to rc
    12) last of conditioner so bottle to rc
    13) 5 cheap nasty razors after cutting my leg with one
Also went to CS with curtains, towels and blankets decluttered previously but waiting for car trip as heavy
Oh and sorted freezer and bleached out cupboard with mouse dropoings and redid the small gap with gaffer tape (and very pleased with myself i knew exactly where the gaffer tape and scissors were)

Just had a successful de-clutter of the bill and bank statement box. Got rid of a ridiculous amount of paper, considering the box was de-cluttered about six months ago.

I'm now sitting here with a glass of Baileys. So my thoughts have turned to alcohol. We don't drink that much, and when we do have anything, it's mainly wine, or a glass of lager with a curry. The Baileys is from Christmas.

I've noticed we have several opened bottles of drink, mainly spirits.

They must have been there for a good 20 years. I think we bought them 'just in case' any visitors wanted them. A couple of glasses have been drunk, but I can't see us drinking whole bottles of vodka and gin. I don't think alcohol goes off, but I don't think it can be in tip top condition either.

I think they'll be de-cluttered down the sink. We have a few unopened miniatures which we'll have to make the effort to drink.

If I post sounding drunk you'll know the reason!

Still waiting for OH to come home so in the meantime I have sorted out the pile of mail and I have also sent off an email so that is 2 things ticked off my to do list.

Planning to see "world without end" at 9pm might achieve some mini decluttering before then.

Emptied the airing cupboard and reorganised it. Decluttered some spare bedding. Also went through the storage in the bedroom. Some of you may remember I counted that I had something like 25 hairbrushes a few months ago, that I then culled! Well today I did another cull so now I'm down to single figures!

Had a shift round of pictures after unearthing lots more in the box room. Decided some of the ones that I used to have up can go, so decluttered 5 more pictures. Also chucked an old game which has lost several crucial parts.

6 ebay auctions finished today, all sold, going to pack them up now ready to post on Monday. More items waiting to be auctioned, can't quite muster the energy to photograph and list them. It's all a bit never ending isn't it sometimes.

I didn't realise it was candlemas today - it's been a lovely spring day, but not managed to get out (garden desperately needs attention).

littlies have spent 3 days being sick, eldest recovered yesterday and just as i had put the final bits of washed bedding on, youngest ran into my bedroom and was sick everywhere. so i've mostly been de-vomiting things (they were both sick in my bedroom, the only room with bare floorboards with big gaps in between them, bleugh).

managed on friday to get rid of all the videos (to the tip unfortunately no cs's would take them, a box and a bag of stuff to cs) so the cupboard that did house the videos now has dvd's cds and console games in it - sorted out the console hardware into a wicker basket in the TV cabinet, and in all this freed up 2 large storage boxes - one is pretty so will think of something to do with it, but the other is just serviceable so it will go to CS.

had bookcase delivered, it is massive and fits so well in the space I wanted that it could have been made for it, but it is a vintage solicitors bookcase from ebay and it's filthy (not mentioned in the listing) not just dusty but in parts black layers of sticky dirt that has started to grow mould. I was too exhausted to say anything when it came, and it will clean up, but I am fed up that I have to spend hours and hours doing it. I've done the first clean because I can't have mould growing in a house with already sick littles, but it's going to take quite a bit more before I can use it.

still that's my moan over - think spring cleaning may take all year! but I'm definitely starting to see progress. well done on January everyone, I'm off to light a lovely candle (AND I know where they are!)
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)

    • Sold 3 more items on ebay
    • 1 pair of jeans into fabric bag (ripped on the bum! )
    • 3 t shirts into fabric bag
    • 10 cosmetics - bin
    • 2 bracelets sets to CS
    • Oh, and photos of sold ebay goods on laptop all deleted

I have had success with a new mystery shopping company and have gained 3 alcohol ID checks with them, and 2 from the main mystery shopping company I use (1 which'll save money on food shopping, another will give me & OH a free meal when we go to Wales! :D)
