Bag full of items decluttered from box room:

    3 CDs
    Bag
    2 toys
    Advent calendar
    Leggings

Moving the old bookcase from my daughter's room exposed a very grubby corner, so gave this a scrub with some diluted bleach. Also had a go at the window frame and skirting board. I opened the window to air the room, the cat then could hear the birds in the trees so was quite keen to jump out and join them. He also helped me clearing under the bed in the box room, busy morning for him too!
  • Hello
Not done much recently, been working a lot and this dull horrible weather does nothing to inspire me. Will have to whack on the radio later which usually helps me get motivated.
Will report back later, hopefully I will have managed a wee bit. Everyone on here does so well I dunno how you keep motivated.

I've been sorting through paperwork today. I have sorted a big pile out in the kitchen ready to file, but it is too cold in the study so filinf will have to wait for another day. I have put the shredder in the kitchen and I'm slowly working through the pile. The shredder keeps overheating though so it's a bit stop/start!

The kitchen is starting to look clearer though so I'll keep plodding on.

I keep flitting back to this thread to read and have half heartedly joined in some challenges but never completed them :o Why can't I stick to them?!

I need to seriously declutter. Badly. I can't find my passport & as I'm travelling to visit my brother in April, I need to find it sharpish. I've given myself a week to find it before I have to apply for a replacement as I can't risk not going....

So..last night I started in my bedroom. So far I have the following...

1-5: Bags of clothes for cash4clothes.
6-8: Bags of clothes for charity bin (yep, I haven't decluttered them for ages!)
    9. 1 big charity sack full of old paperwork and envelopes.

And I haven't even made a dent :( Things built up after kiddie #4 was born, and I'm a little overwhelmed :o

    Thanks all xx

Well done - you've sorted out loads today - try not to look at your home as a whole - section it up and attack from there - today I am doing the kitchen and living room - only because kids keep demanding my attention...I also keep a list beside me - really inspiring when you start to see how much stuff you have sorted thru, rehomed, gotten rid of

Good luck finding your passport x
  • Another 10 items sent to charity :) I really need to start ebaying more but I'm lazy!

Right while iTunes is taking forever to update things on my ipod I'm going to do a quick whizz around for 15 minutes to find some bits to declutter.

This thread seems like a good motivation! Yesterday I cleared the bottom of my wardrobe where my shoes and bags go - put 5 bags to get given away or ebayed, depending on whether my mum wanted them! Have also got 8 pair of shoes to go ebay today! Feeling rather organised :) x

When it's written down it doesn't look that much, but the paperwork takes ages!

This week I'm turning my attentions to our bedroom. There's a few drawers that need looking at, and the real major task is my husband's bed side cabinet. He's put paperwork in there for years and now it's really heaped up. I haven't decluttered it before as it was 'his' and not really my concern. But I've had enough now, and he's authorised me to get stuck in.

I also want to look at the drawer of this desk where I'm sitting now. Just over three years ago I was made redundant - the whole office was closing and 250 people lost their jobs. So the contents of the office had to go, and at the end all of us were walking out with all sorts of things, with management blessing.

I've got loads of paper and things in this drawer. I'm just going to sort through it, and see exactly I've got in there.

I've earmarked Tuesday for all this work. I don't normally spend a whole day on it, but I want to get this done

    Right then!

    44. Bag of rubbish
    45. Candle burnt/used up - it's a wide glass one from Ikea, don't recommend them at all. It burnt a pool of wax in the middle and left the outside unmelted. Only bought from a charity shop.
    46. 47. Medical packaging, recycled
    48. Bag of those horrid crystals used to keep stuff dry (quite toxic to have laying around )
    49. Bubble wrap
    50. Ear buds, bleugh
    51. Plastic wallet
    52. 53. 54.55. 56. Books returned to work friends
