Now I thought I wouldn't have time for the 100 item fling, but got the kids to sort through their books and decluttered:

    55 books
    7 magazines
    2 Moxie dolls
    3 brochures
    Leaflets
    Nail varnish
    Dried up glue stick
    Bear coat hanger
    Thread
    Non-glowing glo stick
    3 completed colouring books

Also returned my Mum's sewing machine and chucked out a wine carrier

I make that 78 out of my 100 items!

Havn't started on the 'Glory Hole' yet but I have managed to put some old recipes on my computer (VERY food splattered excercise book!!) & I bought a nice yellow lever arch file to store my recipes in. No I'm not procrastinating - honest - I WILL start the major work tomorrow ;)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Few more bits decluttered whilst doing bathtime:

    2 little teddies
    Dried up facepaints
    Gap jacket (will probably ebay)

As well as lots of general detritus that I'm not going to count, as it should have gone in the bin long ago...

    I've set myself a mini challenge :j

I'm going to aim to declutter 100 things this weekend (over the next 3 days)

Feel free to join me :j
Brill start donna! Wow cte slow down you're showing the rest of us up! Brill idea to get the kids to sort through things. Come on silva make a tiny start this evening, go through a drawer or cupboard! :D

Right let's do this! Hubby has already been doing some sorting

    First targets will be things:
Annoying or frustrating me, the generally in the way stuff
    That have an emotional/negative attachment

Will be back to report progress later.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.
 Fab thread: Long daily walks

Having read the phrase glory hole on here I used it to describe our annexe at a Christmas family gathering- telling everyone about our glory hole. I think I said that we had a glory hole in the annexe. A look of shock and horror crossed the faces of my children and their cousins-a mixture of embarrassment and amusement.

My son who is 15 led me to the kitchen and showed me the definition on Wikipedia.

    Enough said.

Just to clarify we do not have a glory hole in our annexe!
    June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving

    July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550

    October challenge £100 a day. £385/£3100

Decluttering isn't going great, feels like I never make a dent and end up feeling rubbish without any gain. Does anyone else seem to have bits of paper everywhere? Big, small, envelopes, notes, leaflets, statements, its everywhere!

Know that feeling vikki. All you can do is work through it, one heap at a time. Just pick up one pile of paper and sort it this evening. Perhaps start with a drawer, then you can keep the envelopes and other useful stationery in there.

Paperwork you need to keep - I've got a couple of these folders which are fine for keeping all the paper under control:

Ooh now I want to buy one of the Jan Constantine ones... will have to resist.

This made me giggle very much!! A few years ago we lived near a village that had a charity shop run for the local church - it was called 'The Glory Hole'...

My mum said once, what a super name, we should call our craft room that!!! I had to explain to her... lets just say she was rather shocked!! :rotfl:
