Hugs ziggy, hope you feel better soon x
Declaring Jan at (just over) 330 items - put IKEA 2012 catalogue in recycling, along with empty box, and washed and gave to charity OH's thermals (which he finds too itchy so have been sat at bottom of laundry basket for 3 years!).
Have had a teeny bit of flingers regret with dress got rid of the other day as I did like it, but trying to remind myself that I barely wore it because the buttons kept popping open!!
Aim for Feb is 300 items, still long way to go. Counting is a great way to motivate me.Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

gee whizz! Just decided to get started on February challenge to give myself a head start. Went into our spare room of doom to tackle the bags of things had withdrawn from DD/DS rooms but not yet sorted or counted. Over 140 items binned or put in charity bag :j! Going to up my target to 400 now !Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

14 more Word documents deleted from my laptop.
One handbag (that was like a huge, black pit, into which I'd put things, and never be able to find them again!) - CSEnjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

10 minute declutter of my daughter's room (got her to help). She reluctantly parted with:
2 magazines
Packaging from magazine gifts
Pet hospital
Brownie cap (will ebay as hardly worn)
Dead plant
Disney Princess
My Little Pony slide
Origami creations
2 bags
Toiletry bag
Most of the house is now relatively decluttered, it's the kids playroom and my daughter's room that are now the main targets. My son keeps his room tidy but I will see if there are any bits he is happy to get rid of. The problem is that I don't think he always realises that once things have gone they don't come back. Or maybe I'm just too sentimental and want to hang onto his things as he's my baby boy...
I was aiming to declutter 10 items a day for the first week of January and have kept it up for the whole month. Feeling a bit tired with it but the house is looking better so will carry on for the first week of February and then see how I feel.0 -

Well done to everyone's declutters. Whether big or small, every little helps (except when it's horse meat :rotfl:
Off to work soon which will be a long day followed immediately by a church meeting so declaring my 13 already.
Another 13 videos to the bin. CS's no longer take them, we havent played any of them for maybe 5 years. Lesson to self - should have taken them to CS then while they'd have still been some use, so now being much more proactive in passing things on we no longer use, eg 1/2 size violin to friend with young daughter, revision books to school.
Time for my morning ritual of visiting each room with a scented candle, drawing curtains, opening window, making sure everything is tidy, closing window. All very niceDecluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Pleased with decluttering effort today dispite spending most of the day with my Ma to cheer her up (does leave me feeling drained by hey ho)
Big black sack of clothes donated to the air ambul*nce container and a pile of books and sundries to the CS, so there's a space in my bedroom now which does give me a boost
May not have much time to post in the next few days but will aim to keep my eye on what's happening."There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇0 -
Hello all, not been that good a couple of days off:( (my work week is Fri-Tue,so Wed/Thu is my "weekend"). Have been reading all your posts and have been getting very worked up about getting on with things, so had started a list Tue of things that I wanted to do. But now sat here I don't feel that I have really achieved anything:sad:. Anyway this is what I have managed to do:
1. Online tax returns filed for 2 associates (do bookkeeping part-time), so paperwork can be archived.
2. Carrier bags sorted and tidied (I counted them and there are 472 - can you believe it:eek:) Did this in front of tv whilst OH was trying to watch something so he got the message that I wasn't happy about bringing more in. Went to SM on way home tonight and he told me off for not having extra bags (always carry two bags for life) so I had to ask for another bag:o.
So think it worked don't know how long for though.
3. Cleaned The Girls out, I have three Degus and it can take a good hour to thoroughly clean their cage, and took the opportunity to move their cage completely and hoover (always hoover under their cage when cleaning) and mop the area of the room they are in, I will do the rest of the room on Sunday morning as I'm not in work till the afternoon.
4. two washloads through but not ironed yet.
Not decluttering but we have been to the local shopping outlet village and looked around for clothes for our cruise in 4 weeks, so it's another thing off my mind as we have started, but it will mean clothes coming in not going out. Though I have now started mentally going through what is in our wardrobes with regard to what we have already and what we need to get.
Sorry long post, but now I have read it back I feel a little better as I have done something. Off to bed now as want to try to get up a little earlier tomorrow to get some ironing done.0 -
Oohhh forgot had my hair cut today as well, so both hair and money decluttered.
And good news from parents, they sold their house last September and have actually exchanged contracts today, had three false starts since the beginning of December. So they are moving on Wednesday. So that's my days off sorted next week.0 -
Big hugs to everyone who is suffering from depression/SAD. As a sufferer for 25 years you have my sympathies. We bought one of those SAD lamps for Christmas, and have a blast of it for around half an hour every morning before getting up. Think it's helping, I'm not as depressed as I normally am after Christmas (or it could be the prozac I take every day!)
Found a couple of things today that I gave to a friend who came to lunch: every time she visits, she goes home with something we've decluttered! At least it goes to a [STRIKE]cluttered[/STRIKE] good home!
163. Photo frame - friend
164. Scarf - friend
165. Christmas present - friend (haven't seen her since before Christmas)
Have been working on hubby's quilt again the past couple of days: I'm hand quilting it so it's not a quick job, but I've nearly finished it. I had set myself the target for end of January, but hey ho, so what if it takes another week?
Have booked our holiday for 10th September, so need to declutter around 4 stone of fat before then. So will be starting my healthy eating plan tomorrow, might even weigh myself in Boots if I'm brave enough!
It's a new month nearly - I decluttered 165 items this month. Amazing - I didn't think I had much more to lose as the house is tidy, but it's there, lurking in cupboards and drawers out of sight! I think I'll aim for 100 again in February ....Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Hi All,
Took five bags of books to OXFAM charity shop who were very pleased to have them. I need to go to dump on Saturday to get rid of bags of clothes and papers. Also, I am going to buy a shredder, ink for printer, and continue declutter!
I an going to count the number of items that leave the house! What a good idea! I sold three books on ebay and must have taken 45 books to charity shop.0
