Good morning all  - hope all who are bug-laden are taking care of themselves - think I've managed to see off the worst of mine, though they've lingered longer than is usual for me this year :(. Just a bit of a 'rattly cough' that's giving me a bit of aggro at the moment, but basically back to normal :j.

I finished decluttering my coat hangers the other day - so now have a bagful of 'children's size' to take into the CS with me this morning - the best of the adult ones have been distributed between three wardrobes and the remainder have been binned - CS has more than enough of those .

Have also worked my way through another packing box and 'put items where they belong' - so another box for the outdoor lock-up. Looks like I'll be advertising on Freecycle again shortly :T.

The over-flowing food stash - from the 'Christmas-that-never-quite-happened' - has now been sorted into two plastic crates. One is designated 'treats' and the other is 'everyday stuff'. I've made a note of 'use-by'/'best before' dates so that as little as possible 'escapes' being safely used up.

At the moment, I'm feeling pretty good about my spare bedroom - there's now space to 'turn around'/'move things' without playing tetris and we've had a few 'dgk sleepovers' without losing one among the debris in there ;).

I've got an ambition to buy a new bed for our room - that'll involve shifting our current bed into the spare room and dumping the one that's in there at the moment. Unfortunately, it will also mean a 'shufty around' of the furniture in BOTH rooms - not looking forward to telling OH .................... may have to be left until I've cooked his favourite evening meal :rotfl:.

Keep up the good work folks - I'm off to the CS for my shift today - and need to keep repeating my mantra. 'I'm here to work - not to buy!'

Keep up the good work everybody :T - speak later - Lilyplonk xx

Hugs ziggy and anyone else struggling with the black dog.
Well done to everyone's declutters. Whether big or small, every little helps (except when it's horse meat :rotfl:
Off to work soon which will be a long day followed immediately by a church meeting so declaring my 13 already.
Another 13 videos to the bin. CS's no longer take them, we havent played any of them for maybe 5 years. Lesson to self - should have taken them to CS then while they'd have still been some use, so now being much more proactive in passing things on we no longer use, eg 1/2 size violin to friend with young daughter, revision books to school.
Time for my morning ritual of visiting each room with a scented candle, drawing curtains, opening window, making sure everything is tidy, closing window. All very nice :D

    :T that's fabulous, well done!

Not much going on here - well, I've been 'preparing' for my interview next week  - I've unsubscribed from a few email newsletters, and deleted some duplicate photos. Need to back up remaining photos, and continue decluttering my Word documents :o
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Hi ziggy - I understand completely how you feel - I have SAD and have been struggling since September last year - I have had my medication changed for the 3rd time and I am really hoping to have turned a corner. If you want to chat, pm me x

I'm pretty please with progress in Jan but still have a long way to go. For Feb, I am going to set myself a target of items to declutter. I didn't do this in Jan but regretted it halfway through the month as I think it would really have helped motivate me.

    Feb declutter target 250 items.
  • I am going to go around the house and see if there is anything else to go to the CS.

    Mini declutter this morning:

    Curtain hooks
    Badge
    Keyring
Shampoo that makes my hair look greasy

Also put other bits in my craft room away in their new homes.
