Forgive my ignorance , but, unless for example you have MI5 agents as rear passengers, why is there a "need" to get the windows tinted.
My daughter's car had legal tinted windows when she bought it and the reduced visibility from inside the car, in my opinion, is hazardous.
I'm surprised that insurance companies don't load the premiums where these things are fitted.
I have driven cars with tints have even driven small vans and those humongous Mercedes limo vans and I have had no problem seeing out its all about using wing mirrors

why tint lets see, you dont have to sit on hot leather, harder for a thief to smash window/ see inside the car dont get sun on your little baby in baby seat

My wife was not convinced at first with tinted windows. That was until we had to spend one hot Sunday afternoon stuck in a jam on the M1. Standstill for 3hrs whilst they they cleared the road back to last junction. 1.5hr in and kids were desperate for loo... Glad of the privacy glass we were!

As for lack of rear visibility, well you soon get used to that. Only really an issue at night when you have no lights. You manage just like any van driver out there.

Listing as an insurance mod is certainly a valid point. Many policies penalise the most inane of mods, it's not like we're fitting nitros! Guess it is one advantage of paying for factory fit tints - you have them as standard, so you can opt for vanilla insurance.
