Cost of Tinting Windows?
Hi All,
Was just wondering if anybody could tell me what a reasonable price would be for tinting the rear windows on a car please?
I just taken delivery of a brand new BMW 1 Series and I need to get the rear windows tinted. I was going to add it on as an extra but the Salesman at the BMW garage said its much cheaper to have it done by an independent garage.
Had a few quotes and they seem to vary massively!
Thanks very much.

I didn't want to just pick the cheapest quote, was an expensive car so I want it doing properly A few of the garages have offered to send my pictures of work they have done so will decide after that. The garage that charged £800.00 work from an Audi dealership so that probably explains the price! Very useful to know you paid £200.00 though, was that recently?:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Worth remembering that any tinted added to the windows in front of the B pillar is very likely to take the obscuration beyond the legal limit. Not relevant to the OP, but perhaps the Focus owner. If stopped, you maybe asked to remove the tint, and you could be prosecuted.Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0

I had mine done around 8 months ago by a sign writing/vehicle graphics company
All my tints are behind the B pillar so fully legal0 -
Had my zafira people carrier done a couple of years ago. 5 Windows behind b pillar, all with decent quality lumar 20% charcoal film. Came to £170 from East London tint shop. Was good job and still looking as new.
Might be more if you go metallic film or its awkward fit around rear wipers etc.0 -

It's surprising how many drivers don't realise that most windows in front of the driver are already tinted to their legal maximum.Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0 -
Problem is from their glossy photo's you wont see how close to the edge they have cut the film and how many wrinkes and bubbles they left behind.
What you want to look for is a local company thats been trading for more than 5 minutes. Without swapping ownership between the family pets.
I want a refund. Ahh sorry we are under new ownership you need to speak to hammy the hamster he owned us last week. The new owner is bertie the budgie.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
