Sending positive vibes and so sorry that bay of E has been tricky and demoralising..

    Have a good weekend x

Thanks brizzle - and well done on your bay of e sales :T I just find it annoying with people buying stuff and then not paying - by the time i've then been able to send a 2nd chance offer the other bidder has bought something else and i think i had 7 NPB's this month which is quite alot :( I also should have said i would never have expected all the things with watchers to sell but was hoping for about a quarter to turn into bids - never mind x Hope you've had a good weekend too x

  • Still struggling with internet! Other than that, not bad, thanks. Did some PT temping this week and I have a new car...old car was getting too old to sort out the repairs and I was looking like I would be in a situation like you are in. I feel bad saying that when you are struggling as I'm lucky to have had help when I needed it. However, I will pay it back so I will be lurking here for a lot longer! :rotfl:

Oh, I cracked the screen on my phone as well. It will cost a fair amount to repair. :(

    Take care. xxx

Hey PB - good to hear you've had some work this week :T Hey don't feel bad about the car situation its good to hear you have someone to help you. I should not have got my car fixed and i was really annoyed as i didn't feel the garage gave me all the information they had which would have allowed me to make more of an informed decision - especially when they knew this was a debate i was having fix / sell  But having spent the majority that it will finally end up costing to get it fixed then i just have to plod on x

Yikes to phone - hope the cost isn't too much for you x

  • Hi DDFW

I haven't disappeared, just spending money which should be going on a house (if I ever buy one) and it didn't feel right to post here. I feel like I haven't made any progress in my life this year and particularly disappointed that the house purchase hasn't happened. Anyway, I have come to my senses. I need to save money for the house deposit even if the purchase will be next year rather than this and for some rainy day savings because my job situation is looking shaky.

Anyway, enough about me. I am worried about you. I do hope the assignment is going OK. There is only so much one person can do and maybe the debt needs to temporarily rise to get you over this difficult patch.

You seem to be in what I might call a structural problem in that there is little room for manoeuvre in your current situation. I appreciate there are short term issues to deal with first, studying, getting through Xmas etc. Hopefully if the economy strengthens next year, it will provide you with better job prospects and give you a break from money worries.

    Take care x

Chocs!!! :j:j:j Super lovely to hear from you :D please don't ever feel like you can't post here - your posts are always helpful with good information / support / advice but i also understand the need to have a break from here sometimes too. Anyway you have been missed and i am glad you are ok :D

Sorry to hear the house purchase hasn't happened for you - i would say you are right to continue saving - this will just put you in a better position when the right house for you comes along :) I'm sorry too about the job situation - i am in the same boat but am not going to worry about it as i can't change it but also appreciate how difficult it is to be in this situation as i do have the odd pang of the 'what if this happens...'

Actually, officially putting it down on here now... drum roll... i am aiming to be debt free by 24th December 2013 - a months time  This way firstly - i can really enjoy christmas without thinking of the debt and how to repay it :T Secondly - without having the constant worry about how to raise the shortfall in funds i will have more time to devote to my studies (which are my priority) and maybe time to start putting more effort into the job search  I will of course still try and raise extra money which will go towards the mortgage / savings but i feel this is completely different to having to raise the money to meet the repayment of debt.

Thank you as well for your insight :) one of the things i am having to acknowledge more and more is that i realistically cannot afford my house and car with my current income. Hopefully next year will be our year Chocs - as well as for PB, brizzle and jwil too :)

I have a long and complicated plan as to how to be debt free by next month, there is no wiggle room at all.

Well i have procrastinated this morning but back to the assignment - *positive vibes* please :)

  • Ok folks a few major and more minor things to cover off :o I'm on here trying to give myself a much needed talking to about my assignment :o Unfortunately a couple of hours after posting on sunday i was really ill and still felt much the same yesterday which made work even more of a chore than usual. Of course when i got home last night after little sleep sunday with being ill i was a bit worse for wear and only managed about 3 hours work on my assignment  being generally shattered i really wasn't being very productive. I had a bit of a lie-in today  and have just had a very nice late breakfast :D But now i *need* to knuckle down. I'm struggling as i had a plan in place which has been scuppered by losing so much time and so am feeling a bit paniced  I am going to keep popping in here for a calming break and for motivation too ;)

I am going to commit to typing up the next section of my work before popping back in :) That should see me a quarter of the way there in rough ish draft :)

Exciting news: - several more nvq certificates have just arrived - i knew my assessor said i'd get a few but when i just got one thought i'd got the wrong end of the stick :T

Weird news and don't quite know what to do - i'm sort of debt free :eek::eek: The sale of my precious much loved larger item has gone through achieving the top amount i'd hoped to get, i've used money intended for savings and various bits of repairs, i've kept food spends etc. to a minimum, i expected to have to pay towards an event but my mr is treating me :smileyhea And finally one of the money things i had planned to do was to use the mortgage over payment money in december to pay off the last of the debt if needed. I currently have novembers overpayment money sat in my account, if i move it to the smaller overdraft then i am actually debt free  I still have my credit card balance but that is paid off in full each month incurring no interest or charges and is used purely so i can take advantage of the benefits of the account. This months bill has been paid in full. Next months bill will also be paid in full etc. I don't know what to do... logic says to pay the mortgage money to the mortgage as that is incurring interest (small overdraft isn't) BUT the urge to be debt free is really pulling me to pay off the overdraft and be done with it. What does everyone think ? I think this is distracting me a little bit too :p

  • Well as the larger overdraft has definitely been paid off i will update my sig for that :)

I have typed up the next section that i wanted to - [STRIKE]some[/STRIKE] alot of editing and polishing needing but it is good to get it down altogether and start to pull it into order a bit more. As i was behind on my studies i didn't have as much time as i wanted for the assignment but then when i put my plan together i was happy - but the illness as i said scuppered that. I enjoyed my breakfast and its the first proper thing i've managed to eat since sunday so that is good :)

I'm going to have a quick read on here for a bit of a break as the section i did ended up being much bigger than expected

Still not decided on the mortgage money v debt freedom :D
