    I intend to start 2014 as I ended 2013...with a list! Though it's a short one today...
    - Go with OH to buy Mac :) though he didn't buy it as the sales assistant was rubbish
    - Choose my Christmas present from OH :) now to order it
    - Deliver final Christmas present :) and they invited us to stay for lunch
    - Sort out freezer
    - Read for half hour (managed 15mins so far) :)
    - Take daily photo (one of my resolutions is to use my camera more)
    - Name main goals for 2013 to put on wall to remind myself!
    - Continue with mini cross stitch :)
    - Watch one of unwatched DVDs :) will possibly make it 2 before bed time :)
    - Count up unwatched DVDs and unread books (there are plenty of them!) :)
    - Swagbucks/Adpoints :)

  • Morning folks, weather has blown out all of our plans for today, saving us quite a bit on petrol (outdoor swim cancelled) or entertaining (back up plan - invited folk for lunch - they can't get here) so we are having a cheap start to the new year!

    Todays steps:

    • Enjoying heating as thought we'd be entertaining - washing is drying well anyway...
    • Board games with friends this pm...now at their place, so heating will be zapped off after lunch. We have lots of bits we can take from here, so no spend...
    • Cooking up reduced food in a big batch ready for our big dinner with friends on Friday...warms my kitchen up today, makes sure the food is ok, and makes things a bit easier on the day!
    • Research tonight - landline costs are huge! and a nice email from Orange / EE saying they are putting them up more. No thanks, we'll find a deal elsewhere ;)
    • Phone calls to confirm plans for next weekend- trying to combine our travel plans to get lots done in one go. Also the weekend after - trying to find ways to cut the cost of that trip too x
    • Ironing ready for paying guest who arrives at the weekend! Easing back into it after having the house to ourselves for so long.
  • Ruby, really empathize with the smoking...We rented our house out for a week whilst on our hols and came back to find it reeking, yuk. One of the things that helped clear the air was having little bowls of bicarbonate of soda or white wine vinegar dotted around (just small amounts, separately). Not sure how that will work if they are still smoking in there, but might be worth a try if you get any respite from it! Good luck x

What a horrible nights sleep! It's alright having 2 weeks off but I've not had a great nights sleep since we broke up. I just wish I knew why. It's not like I'm not tired!
    Today's tasks:
    - Put away washing - at least got it cleared off dryer
    - Get stuff together to go to OHs tonight (well in a couple of hours) :)
    - vaguely plan for next week (to expand at weekend)
    - Finish mini cross stitch :)
    - Wash hair :)
    - ad points
    - Swagbucks
    - Clear desk (and put things away not on floor!) :)
    - Make prawn curry for tea

  • I did have a list but it went to pot.
    I managed to:

    - Exchange PJ's from christmas
    - Plan what I might write about in my assignment questions
    - Wrote about one of the two activities that supports babies development (I was doing Feeding & Bath time) I just got to do bath time now.
    - Spent time with my partner which was nice as I actually enjoyed it; he brought me 12 roses ... stating its "1 for every month of this year that I will love you"
    - I took a hug amount of wallpaper samples to make a collage on my wall (Plain pink is boring me now)
    - Signed up to B&Que (I wanted to buy some pillows at £2.50 each, and signing up meant it was 3 for 2 on all cushions & pillows = £5 for 3 pillows for me) lol.
    - tidied my room a little bit

  • Hi everyone and a very Happy New Year!!

My first post of 2014 :j

I was back at work on Thursday, bleurgh, but thought it was better than going back tomorrow and doing a full week straight off. Haven't got back into the swing of making productive lists yet but this week I will put aside some time to do it. On the bright side, all paperwork is up to date and I only have a couple of standard letters to forward to CAP Money; on the downside, I only have about £200 to last me through January as it was rather expensive visiting parents over Christmas :( still, could be worse and £200 will be fine if I can get back into the swing of making lunches, etc.

Sadly the smoking situation hasn't improved, the weather here has been horrible so we've had the doors and windows shut a lot. Sometimes I retreat to the bedroom, close the door and open the window to try to get rid of my headache! I know smokers don't realise how much it affects non-smokers, and I'm not even sure how to approach the subject as I did know people smoked indoors before I moved in, it just wasn't this often and I didn't know it would affect me this much.

Oh and I have 20lb to lose before Easter!! Well that's the target, anyway..... been swimming today, so that's a start. OH and I have set ourselves the target of being active every day and trying a new activity/ location every week, which is something positive to work towards.

Ho hum, off to the ironing for me - lovely to talk to you all again! xxx
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j
