  • Well done Giggles on the nativity!

I've moved to my caravan - sigh - missing my flat already. To be more accurate, all my stuff is in the caravan (and no hope of it being unpacked before Christmas!) and I'm in the house with my boyfriend. I've already cried a couple of times as I'm so homesick. What a wuss.....

Hope the Christmas preparations are going well for everyone! xxx

  • Hi all,

It's not going so well in my new place :( everything's ok with my boyfriend, but it's really getting to me how much his lodger smokes (indoors!) & how he's started now as well - he did nothing for months and now it's several times a day. I'm going to work with a permanent headache and spend my time worrying that I stink of smoke. I don't smoke and didn't realise it would be this bad... I'm so homesick for my little flat, I'm even wishing that the caravan was habitable so I could spend more time in there!

Sorry, it's a pretty fed up end to Christmas Eve from me, I've left them to it and gone to bed. I hope everyone else is enjoying the celebrations! Xxx

  • Christmas Day and yesterday were better thank you Giggles :) today I did a bit of sales shopping - £10 off the boots I needed! - and some tidying :(

Going to visit my family tomorrow, they live about 200 miles away so I don't get there very often. Very nervous as my boyfriend hasn't met them before, and I'm not sure how he'll cope with meeting my younger brother, who has Down's syndrome; his speech isn't great and I struggle sometimes too. I'm worrying already - I just hope it all goes ok.....

Hope everyone has had a fab Christmas xxx

  • Glad you had a good Christmas and Boxing Day Ruby. I hope everything has gone well with your boyfriend meeting the family.

Hope everyone else has had a good Christmas too. I'm currently trying to get organised for a thrifty and organised 2014 so I save money and have some time to myself more often! Trying to come up with SMART goals for the year so I can see exactly how much progress I've made with them!

I will do better at stepping in 2014. It will help me to get things done, and make me realise on rubbish days that I've achieved something...even if it's only getting out of bed!

I'll start as I mean to go on...
    Today's jobs:
-sort washing and wash 2 loads :)
    -catch up on only connect
-sort out diaries/calendar...I will not double book myself in 2014! :)
    -organise handbag :)
-find homes for non-edible Christmas presents
    -strip bed :)
    -put sheets on bed :)
    -half hour reading
-half hour piano - postponed as mum and dad are watching tv
    -meal plan for this week

    That will get me started!

    Have also
    -tried on bridesmaids dress
    -helped design wedding invites

Hi all, I'm back from Christmas break and have missed you! Hope you've enjoyed the festivities!

Thanks so much Fairy, Ruby & Suzi for your encouragement with Stepchange.

The 2 advisors I've spoken to have been amazing...... they have sent me a full brochure with budget and strategy.

However, I don't have enough at the moment to go on an official DMP... they are advising me to make a token payment to each creditor of £1 until things improve and I have more to offer.

I'm disappointed that I'm in this situation as I wanted them to take my payments over for me, but I suppose my goal is to get back to a position where that is possible. I lost my job in the summer so there isn't much to play with right now.

Good news is that Halifax Credit Card have written to say they will accept a zero offer for a short time.

All my other a/c's are on hold for a short time as well.

Ruby I feel for you regarding the smoke issue - when my marriage ended a few years ago I spent a lot of time with a couple of my friends who smoked in the house - I would come in reeking of smoke and coughing like crazy!!!!! (apologies to anyone reading this who smokes!! Not meaning to sound judgmental!!)

I had intended to get up and get busy this morning. OH gave me an early morning get out of bed call and I went straight back to sleep!
However, I've got a few things crossed off my list already and a few more to do. Had internet issues this morning which meant I couldn't do some of the jobs anyway. Think it's sorted now!
    -write shopping list :)
    -shop :)
    -cancel gym membership
    -cancel photo mag subscription :)
-gather stuff to go to OHs overnight :)
    -shower :)
    -1/2 hour piano :)
    -post book :)
    -post DVD :)
    -wash up :)
-put on heating in spare room :)
    -check bus times :)
-find very simple knitting project :) going to try a hat!

Happy New Year Fairy :-) glad all is going well with the new business.

I'm sure I'll drop in again before tonight. Not many steps today as I'm at OH's until he gets home from work and didn't sleep well last night. However I'm determined to continue stepping!
    So today's steps:
    - shower
    - wash up :)
    - put washing away :)
    - read for half hour :)
    - start mini cross stitch :)
    - update blog :)

Have also cleaned work tops and registered for nectar ad points and earned 100points while watching les miserables :):)
Enjoy the last day of 2013 :) x
