Well done for going on the first run helpinghubby. Everyone has to start somewhere - it will get easier if you do it regularly.
Well, seen as i started this thread i probably should share some details of my situation..
I have been thinking about my diet quite a lot over the last couple of days. I think my basic meals are ok but i was wondering if you would look over a typical day and see where i'm going wrong:
typical day
breakfast - bowl of museli / bran flakes / weetabix (no sugar added)
mid morning - bannana and cup of tea
lunch - cottage cheese salad or hummus & salad sandwhich. yoghurt. 2 pices of fruit.
mid afternoon - fruit or piece homemade flapjack
dinner - somthing like pasta/vegi chilli/spag bol/jacket potato& salad
evening - 2-3 cups of tea, fruit, yoghurt, often chocolate
Obviously the choc has to go!!. Right, no time like the present - so I have just eaten a flake  and i solomly swear that i won't eat any more chocolate until next sunday. If any of you catch me feel free to shout!!
I justify making flapjack cos its full of oats and seeds and nuts and other 'healthy' stuff and obvisouly saves me spending £££ on an afternoon snack from cafe. But maybe it has to go too
Exercise i don't do too bad on. I am pretty fit. I have been to BodyPump this evening and for a brief stint on the treadmill. Plan to do a longer run tommoro (4-5 miles) and then Body Pump on weds. Will plan the rest of the week when i check out the gym class lists.
Looking at it all written down i don't know what to do - it doesnt seem that bad? But obvisouly it is becasue i need/want to lose a stone for summer :cool:0 -
Weigh in tomorrow... Dun, dun, durnnnnnnnnn
I think we've had a good week, I've got spare points, so I haven't over eaten this week, but I still feel, well, chubby... We're all meal planned for next week too, and I'm working all week so that'll be more exercise. I want to try and do at least 2 davina sessions this week as added exercise. We're doind the WW Wendie Plan, so we can have a super high day on Wednesday and treat ourselves to fish and chips, but still stay within our points for the week as a whole. OH has got her ribenaso she's hoping for at least a STS. I hope she hasn't put on, else she'll get disheartened and want to give up. Anyway, I'll check in tomorrow with our weights.

Hi everyone, may i join in?
I need to lose at least 2 stone, but have been trying non-stop for a year now and nothing seems to be happening. I have some medical problems (challenges) too, but still - I haven't really gone down at all. I think if i 'admit all' on here like i do with my daily spending, it will do me good. I can't do anything particularly cardiovascular, but i walk LOTS (busses in London are soooo slooooow). Contemplating going swimming in the mornings but not sure if i have enough time (or where our local pool is, to be honest). I also tend to eat the same as my OH for dinner, but smaller portions / with salad etc. Maybe I need to re-think that, as we're having Sausage & Mash tonight! Not very FFW!
Just had museli and tea. I swopped to Earl Grey 4 months ago and no longer take sugar in tea or drink coffee, which saves me a good 6 spoons a day. Wish i'd lost that equivalent in weight!! x0 -
Lost 3.5 lbs :j I know its the first week though and it will slow down now, but I can already feel my work trousers are looser.

Thank you. I've just come back from my lunch time walk (In my new trainers) and feel rather good. Did just over a mile in 18 minutes.
You seem to eat very healthily to me. Although I think flapjacks are quite misleading and if you were to be serious about this then it probably would have to go. I'm more of a believer of not giving up things completely though, so you could work a couple of treats in a week.
One of the things I picked up when dieting, was to vary the diet, so try and have different breakfasts. You could have a boiled egg with wholemeal bread one day (maybe the weekend?) for example.
Mind me asking what you weigh? You don't have to answer that. I'm 5ft5 and 10 stone 13lb. I went down to 10 stone last year for my wedding, but it's all piled back on again. I don't have the motivation to eat like I did before so now I've decided to eat as normal and exercise instead to make up for it.
I do think if I stopped eating out, I wouldn't put on the weight, as my calorie intake isn't that bad, even with the chocolate...it's all those mystery shops I've been doing (free meals) that are my downfall. Just an example (nothing to do with mystery shopping) a meal at Harvest is somewhere in the region of 1500 - 2000 calories!! It's quite shocking.0 -
Please help!!!!
It's all going a bit wrong!!!
I've eaten a small apple pie (Little individual one) and a whole Heaven chocolate bar (i'd never tried one)
Definately not on the diet. And the worse bit is the chocolate bar made me feel ill and wasn't worth the £1.39 I paid for it
Please help as I can feel myself falling off the wagon and I'm about to go into a meeting with my fave ginger thin biccies! I don't stand a chanceCurrent debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
