Well i'm not doing well at all. DH went to the shop on tuesday and came home with 20 YES 20 dark chocolate flakes because they had been reduced to 10p as they go out of date soon. It could have been worse. They had four boxes of them and he toyed with the idea of taking a whole box. 48 I think. I have been restricting myself to one a day but they are screaming at me from the fridge. Help:rotfl:The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

I've been trying to start dieting again for the last few weeks and have given up as I think it's quite hard to diet and be on a strict shopping budget. So now I've decided to exercise instead.
I went out for an hours walk yesterday lunchtime, and did 10 minutes on my trampette today.
I've been looking into doing the Marathon with my hubby, but its a lot of hard work, but not only that, a lot of time needs to be put into training, so now I'm going to investigate the training for a half marathon. The other downside to running is the set up costs, we don't have suitable trainers/clothes, so will need to spend some money.
Otherwise, we'll do the London to Brighton Bike ride again (did this in 2004 and swore I'd never do it again).
I find I need a goal to aim for. Anybody else considering doing anything like this?
Hi, Im seriously considering doing the London Marathon next year!! I am currently not very fit, but have been exercising at least 4 times a week for the past few weeks and have gone back on a diet that I have found worked in the past (until I came off it and ploughed my way through loads of crap food because it seemed cheaper). I figure I have until August to see how my level of fitness is as to whether I apply or not. I know exactly what you mean about having a goal to aim for.... my friends say surely being healthier n slimmer would be a good enough goal but that doesnt work for me really. Anyway, good luck to you whether you decide to do the marathon, bike ride or half marathon :j
For anyone who is struggling with diets I would recommend the one I am on... its Rosemary Conleys GI Jeans diet. It is brilliant, doesnt actually cost alot (you do have to work through all the suggestions as it could cost alot if you're not careful) and is basically healthy living rather than diets you wouldnt stick to once u have stopped. I have been on it now since last Monday and I have lost 8lbs already (and I have had a few 'naughties'!!) Also I have been exercising with a gym ball and Im finding its working brilliantly. Its easy to do, apart from when you first get on it tho cos you may fall off a few times.
One more thing before I go, altho I have gone on a bit already... does it annoy/anger anyone else that in the media there is this continuous discussion about how we are a nation of obesity, yet what does the government do to help? It makes me so mad that junk food appears to be cheaper and more readily available than healthy alternatives. Sorry, had to have a little moan there0 -

I'm sick of fruit and yoghurt already. Was very bad yesterday cause I just got too hungry and pigged out
*sigh*

Can I suggest you have a look at the Rosemary Conleys GI Jeans diet? It works on the basis of low fat, healthy regular eating plan and the idea is that the foods you eat fill you up for longer so you dont get hungry inbetween meals so therefore dont pick at food. I think the key secret to any diet is making sure that it is something you can always stick to. There doesnt seem much point to me being on a diet where you are always hungry, dont enjoy it and as soon as you stop the diet you put all the weight back on (and generally for me I put more back on too!!). I think the word 'diet' should be banned, as I think it automatically makes people hungry by simply mentioning it!!! :rotfl:
And to all those who have lost weight and are doing well (there are too many to name them all)... Congratulations!!!! :T  especially, I noticed, Lucy1982... wow, that is a very impressive weightloss and an inspiration to many FFW on here :j0 -
Thanks Njbhons, you've made me blush!

I'm not associated with it in anyway. I just found it today and you can plot runs and it works out the mileage. Perfect for working out different routes. Hope it helps someone.
