You know, if we really do achieve the wannabe target of "Fat Free", we'll all die. Perhaps the title should be changed to "Debt Free and LDL & Transfat Free Wannabes"?Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Morning all!
Very pleased to see the new thread up and running. I'm aiming for a 3lb loss this week. Started off very badly yesterday when my OH (Who was meant to be cooking dinner) decided he couldn't be bothered and we had curry instead. Not only calorific, but that was £18 down the tube. Not sure how to bring my OH round to a dfw's way of life - he earns 50k (+ bonuses) to my measly 22k. He has no debt apart from the mortgage, and so my attempts at saving money always seem like penny pinching to him.
Anyway, heres to a good week to everyone!BCSC Member 70:j

I'm so glad this thread is back :j
A friend of mine sent me a link to a group of 20 & 30-somethings who go walking in hampshire - they're accredited to the rambling association, doesn't cost anything to join etc, just take a packed lunch with you! They also arrange car-sharing to the walk starts so that it saves everyone money & is better for the environment. I'm hoping to go on my first walk with them in a couple of weeks time, 7 miles, easy grade & as I've already got walking boots it's going to be dirt cheap for me!
This one is particularly Hampshire, and only for people in their 20s & 30s, but I'm sure there must be other similar groups around the country. If anyone wants the link to the Hants one, PM meTotal Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Hoping to lose about 8lbs this week
Probably not going to happen though!
I'm glad our thread is back too, I'll definitely be needing a way of motivating myself to get back in shape soon, and I definitely can't afford to go to classes or join clubs. I think I will try and follow the weightwatchers points system, as I already have the books and it worked last time, and will try and do loads of walking with the pram to get fit again."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

lol... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Just wanted to say don't put yourself under too much pressure to get back to your pre baby weight.. it took 9 months to gain it and bar liposuction you're not going to lose it overnight! I've never gotten back down to my pre-ashli weight.. I was 9 1/2st before and 11st before I had kaitlyn but I am honestly happier with a bit of weight to me!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

I'm sure primark do jogging bottoms for about £4 i think. Yes the RFLs are £10to enter which is a lot considering short distance. They are well organssed though. Other local events are usually similar priced except for the 'big' ones - great north run, flora marathon etc whch can be a lot more. There are tons of cheaper events though - again, have a look at the runners world website where you can search events based on local area and distance.
Half marathon in a year is certainly very possible. Depends on your current fitness - if its not bad then even one for sept/oct time wouldnt be too extreme. And yes a sports bra is essential - depends on your size but i got mine from M&S for £9 (half price, £18 full price)
Please don't be put off - any old trainers will do to start with, you'll feel the benifit more of a new pair in a few weeks anyway.
Good luck
Well, I've done it! I'm officially signed up for the Race for Life. I can't back out nowI'm running on the 22nd July, so just over 12 weeks.
I thought lots and lots about this and looked up training sessions, and I'm not fit at all, so I think even the half marathon was being way ambitious. So 5k it is. I've been walking all week, including today. And I'm shopping for joggers and trainers at the weekend and I'm starting off on a training session I found for newbies on Sunday (its 30 days, well it'll be 28 days) of 30 minute walk/runs, consisting of 10 minute walking, 15 minutes walk/jogging and 5 minutes walking. Then I'll move onto a proper 8 week training session for the 5k.

Well done! That brilliant – its always good to have a target to aim for
I am doing one on 13th May but its with stepD and so we'll be going at her pace. More of a sponsored walk than a run - but when she asked if she could do it i thought it was a good thing to encourage!!
I am planning to do 2-3 10Ks this year and then a half marathon again next year.0 -
How has everyone done today? I've had about 600 cals so far, so I'm going to have a nice healthy tea now
