Hi Catt
I'm really not into exercise and was really please when my SW person told me that going to the gym will only give you a 6 pound weight loss over a year.
This may not help you, but if you've done SW before do you still have all the books? If not I'm sure someone here has said they've got them on PC.
Good luck and keep at. You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

I'd be interested to know how or why?
The thing about exercise is it will burn fat and increase muscle. Now muscle weighs more than fat so theoretically it's possible to put on weight, but lose fat!0 -

I don't agree with that at all. Weight loss or gain is a simple balance of calories in vs calories out. If you spend more calories in the gym than you take it then theres no reason why weight loss would be limited to 6lb a year!
Obviously you don't NEED to go to the gym to lose weight, nor does simply going to the gym guarantee you will.
But to put a value on it like that is out of order IMO. She was probably trying to sell you some miracle SW product you couldnt possibly lose weight without :rotfl:0 -
The good thing about exercise is,it tones up the flabby bits that are left when you lose weight and makes you fitter and healthier
since starting at the gym my body shape has changed, quite a lot,I now have a nicer hourglass, rather than the round apple I was a few months back
even if it doesn't help you to lose pounds,it will make you lose inches.

My diet has been pants this week, I eat pretty healthily but I've been so hungry all week and OH went shopping which meant some deserts went in the trolley. There's still easter eggs floating around the house which aren't helping a lot. The good news is I've not gained any but I've not lost any either. So, starting from Sunday I'm back on the waggon regardless, I'm off out shopping for some willpower tomorrow!:A

How's everyone doing?
I've spent a fortune today on trainers for me and hubby, and some joggers for me. I saw the ones in Primark - £4, but they didn't fit. So got some from TKmaxx for £12.99. Not too bad I think. Trainers were a little more but we tried on loads and loads and I've been told by loads of people that trainers are very important. So that was £117 for 2 pairs. Ooops. It's not like I can't afford it, will just have to go a month of not helping hubby with his card debts. And finally got a sports bra, again paid full whack as the ones in TKmaxx didn't come in my size - gutted as they were only £4.99. Nevermind, hopefully this one will last a long time. Managed to squeeze in a Mystery shop - fast food though - so no good for the diet! but at least it paid for the parking and petrol and I got a free lunch
I've mapped out a 30 minute route to begin my training tomorrow! Am a bit nervous about looking like a wally attempting to jog/walk down the street.0 -

Thats fantastic well done. And don't worry about looking stupid - anyone who looks at you is either impressed, jealous or both!0 -
I've done my first ever training session and it went OK. I was worried after the first 30 second jog I was knackered, but the 30 second jogs after that became easier. I am incredibly unfit, and I'm a little concerned I'm not going to be good enough in 4 weeks to start the 8 week training program for the 5k.0
