    Please help!!!!

It's all going a bit wrong!!!

I've eaten a small apple pie (Little individual one) and a whole Heaven chocolate bar (i'd never tried one)

Definately not on the diet. And the worse bit is the chocolate bar made me feel ill and wasn't worth the £1.39 I paid for it

Please help as I can feel myself falling off the wagon and I'm about to go into a meeting with my fave ginger thin biccies! I don't stand a chance :(

I think the idea is: don't panic! If you do have the biccies too, then compensate by having a light dinner: maybe a bowl of soup or steamed salmon and salad. That should set you back on track! :A

Well done for going on the first run helpinghubby. Everyone has to start somewhere - it will get easier if you do it regularly.

Well, seen as i started this thread i probably should share some details of my situation..

I have been thinking about my diet quite a lot over the last couple of days. I think my basic meals are ok but i was wondering if you would look over a typical day and see where i'm going wrong:

    typical day
breakfast - bowl of museli / bran flakes / weetabix (no sugar added)
mid morning - bannana and cup of tea
lunch - cottage cheese salad or hummus & salad sandwhich. yoghurt. 2 pices of fruit.
mid afternoon - fruit or piece homemade flapjack
    dinner - somthing like pasta/vegi chilli/spag bol/jacket potato& salad
evening - 2-3 cups of tea, fruit, yoghurt, often chocolate

Obviously the choc has to go!!. Right, no time like the present - so I have just eaten a flake  and i solomly swear that i won't eat any more chocolate until next sunday. If any of you catch me feel free to shout!! :o

I justify making flapjack cos its full of oats and seeds and nuts and other 'healthy' stuff and obvisouly saves me spending £££ on an afternoon snack from cafe. But maybe it has to go too

I'd say watch the flapjack, as very high in sugar. Its so easy to watch the fats and forget about hidden sugars. Nuts = high in fat, although they are good for you, so little and not very often. How about snacking on oatcakes/rice cakes? That said, I do think your diet is quite high in carbs. I have found this excellent resource on the web:

    http://www.sofeminine.co.uk/m/health/calorie-counter.html

Ther's an option to analyse your diet. For your average day, it suggests:

If you want to lose a few kilos, try sticking to a daily intake of 1200 kcal as part of a balanced diet.

Your diet is too high in protein, try to cut down on (but not cut out) eggs, meat, milk and fish...
Your diet is too low in fat, try to eat more olive oil, cheese, butter, nuts and meat...

    Balanced Meals
Your breakfast seems too light in comparison to your other meals.
Your lunch seems too light in comparison to your other meals.
Your snacks seem too heavy in comparison to your meals.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Afternoon all :hello:

Had a good couple of days, went out for dinner with my parents and got very drunk last night :o I only had 4 vodkas but combined with my medication was lethal  I pointed all the alcohol and meal and went half a point over, which doesn't matter the once ;)

Could I just point out to all those who worry about eating the 'wrong food',that you should NEVER deprive yourself of anything whilst trying to lose weight,if you do,it will make you crave it more and you will pig out,the trick is to count treats as part of your plan, everyday I have a packet of iced gems,a curly wurly, packet of crisps and a packet of love hearts, all these snacks are lowish in calories and if you count them as part of your intake, you will be able to have all the naughties you want and still lose weight.

I joined an aqua aerobics class today, phew! totally worn out and glutton for punishment me,off to gym tonight  will sleep well later :D

Well before the threads were merged I posted that I wanted to lose 2lbs this week and I don't know how but I did it:j My meal plan for this week had already been written up before joining this thread but sticking to it and only having the odd dark chocolate flake instead of one a day and drinking a lot more water seems to have done the trick. I'm going to have to look at this weeks meal plan again though as there is a lot of pasta in it so will try and swap some of the meals around but we plan and shop monthly now so the ingrediants are already in the house except for the fresh veg. May just have to have smaller helpings and bulk up on salad.

Target for next monday 2lbs again.

Well done everyone else who has lost

You seem to eat very healthily to me. Although I think flapjacks are quite misleading and if you were to be serious about this then it probably would have to go. I'm more of a believer of not giving up things completely though, so you could work a couple of treats in a week.

One of the things I picked up when dieting, was to vary the diet, so try and have different breakfasts. You could have a boiled egg with wholemeal bread one day (maybe the weekend?) for example.

Mind me asking what you weigh? You don't have to answer that. I'm 5ft5 and 10 stone 13lb. I went down to 10 stone last year for my wedding, but it's all piled back on again. I don't have the motivation to eat like I did before so now I've decided to eat as normal and exercise instead to make up for it.

I do think if I stopped eating out, I wouldn't put on the weight, as my calorie intake isn't that bad, even with the chocolate...

Thanks, i think i'll try scrambled egg + grilled tomatos or something like that for breakfast (have to get out of bed earlier :o )

I agree about the eating out trap! Its so hard to know what you are eating - especially as i am veggie so the choice isnt always very big to start with (veg lasagne again anyone?! :rotfl: )

I am 5'2" and currently 9st 8lb. When i was younger i was size 16-18 but am now 10-12. By the end of last summer i'd got down to 8st 10lb, mainly through regular running and following SW plan. I would love to get back down to that weight and then sustain it. In fact even just losing half a stone and keeping it off would make me much happier. I also need to get toned - i have never done resistance training consistantly before. I know it might not seem like much but i'm small built (short + child sized hands and feet) so getting to a size 8 would make me look much better i feel

Thanks for the link nekozombie. Its certainly an interesting site. Suggests i should be eating around 1200 calories a day though which seems like a lot. Also suggests i have bigger meals and less snacks although i'm not sure about that. I have low blood pressure and am prone to hypoglaecemia - i find than eating small & often keeps my concentration levels higher at work & stops me feeling dizzy/fainting. (eg cereal at 7.30am, apple in car at 8am, bannana & cuppa 10.30am etc - rather than eating the whole lot in one go)

    So my plan is:

    1) cut out the flapjack & chocolate - 1 bar allowed on sunday during 24 :p
    2) eat a more varied breakfast / lunch - going to check out OS meal plans for ideas.

    3) run 2-3 times a week
    4) attend body pump 2 times a week
    5) attend spinning (or go offroad on my mountain bike) once a week

    7) lose 1-2lb a week
