It says 2 weeks to make, but I'd suggest leaving the lemon peels in as long as you can, it will bring out more flavour. It's not too strong either, it's too sugary to be drinking loads!
I split mine out into 250ml bottles, but unfortunately the ones I bought were square shaped. My friend left hers in her parents fridge while she went travelling for a few months and her dad kept asking her about the amazing salad dressing she left in the fridge... Took her a while to realise he'd been pouring limoncello all over his lunchtime salads!

Had such a stressy weekend, lots of little things, worst thing is that a friend I met for drinks accidentily let slip on fb (where my boss's PA can see) that I'm job hunting... Also have to get an expensive mouth shield from my dentist as I've been stress grinding (not surprised!)
amr you're definitely not having any luck! But that's the third thing now yes? That should be the end of it!
Grrr at your friend, what a silly thing to put on FB!Chocoholic - that's an awesome amount to have saved towards Christmas, well doneDo you have lots of presents to buy? We're going cheap, cheap, cheap this year and making most of our presents. The limoncello is stewing already
Limoncello might be a good call for pressies this year, luckily with baby and job situation we can get away with just making stuff this year!minicooper272 wrote: »Go for it! This is the recipe I used: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1087/limoncello

I might try that recipe actually. I also thought about doing xmas pudding vodka last year, sounds yum!DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Still no baby!!
DH has had two job offers :j:j:j:j:j:j:j He starts one on Monday, both employers were very understanding about our situation and that he might only be there one day before having to take some unpaid leave :rotfl::rotfl: Sadly he won't get any SPPDMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -
Oh and today he has been paid what he was owed from his old job, this means only 2 weeks unpaid so far with whatever he takes off after baby left to go. Freelance work should cover that shortfall so all bills will be paid, we just won't have made much of a dent on this challenge
At least we'll be no worse off though :T and will start 2014 on a mission!

Yay for the OH :j:j that must be a huge relief! Like you say, to be able to make it to the end of the year no worse off is pretty great! Especially with a third baby due in 2 weeks left now(?)
Christmas pudding vodka sounds really nice. I'd also recommend home-made infused oils. You only need to buy ordinary olive oil, it's only a few quid for a big bottle. Use fresh herbs (make sure they have no moisture on them), dried chillies/chilli flakes, anything you like really! It makes a lovely gift for people. Buying ready made often cost about £10 for a nice bottle selection, or if you make your own it's about £3...0 -
Yay for OH
and yay for baby being here soon
We're doing the bbcgoodfood recipe for the limoncello, OH keeps shaking it each morning so I make him shake his booty whilst he does it hahaha. Best thing is that it makes 2 litres in total with only using 1 litre of voddie, and I didn't buy expensive voddie either as it wasn't on offer
OOh minicooper you've just reminded me about the infused oils, I might get on and do some of those today. I bought a big thing of cheapo olive oil, OH said "why did you buy cheap oil when we have loads of oil in the cupboard?" ...erm, that's my nice oil I like to use and I got it on a good offer maybe? He won't ever understand my logic I'm sure. You do have to be really careful with infused oils as you don't want to give people botulism so make sure all ingredients are dry before putting them in.
Money update from me, I've transferred another £1000 into my savings account. Well I've actually transferred £2000 from my pay cheque, but I need to see how this month goes as to how much of the additional £1000 I can count towards savings. I am going to buy the OH a triathlon watch for xmas & new daddy present, but they're not cheap at all. However, I'm surprising better at not spending my money when it's not on credit, how peculiar.

OH's bikes were stolen last night
our fault for not bolting them down, so live and learn I guess... not having a very good month
on the upside our cooker is fixed and OH's sister bought us a big box of Thorntons to eat. nom.0 -
Oh my word AMR you're not having a very good month at all, good job it's over now! Did you have insurance? Glad your cooker is fixed though
Not sure if anyone has considered this before...but I've just sewn some pepper, chilli and herb seeds in a little propagation thingy that's going on my window sill. I'm hoping they'll germinate, then in a few months I'll have indoor peppers of my very own and herbs, so I won't have to spend 60p+ on organic peppers!!! The kits were a present for my sister that she rejected, there's 6 different things to grow in each of the two kits and more than one seed per packet. All for no more than £25, I'm quite impressedDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
