  • Gawd! Only been debt free for a week and it's soooo boring!

I'm really bored; I keep looking at the bank balance - it's ok, it'll last until payday - no more d/d's or s/o's to come out, nothing doing at all.

Since I paid off the cards I've been phoning to cancel them as I only need two at the most so now I'm not getting much post either... really boring!

At home I keep checking things like the electric meter reading(!). I don't need any shopping so I can't go looking for bargains and I'm so over just spending for the sake of it that I really don't want to buy anything - how boring is that?

I need a new challenge, any ideas? I work full time and I'm doing a college course so I don't need something to fill hours, just a diversion I suppose, like the debt busting was, I dunno, just bored!!!:rotfl:

    No, perhaps it's a goal I need?

I have opened an ISA where I'm squirrelling my child benefit as I will have to repay some of it and I've got a Junior ISA now for my son. I've set up little e-savers in my Nat West a/c to separate monies for holidays and budgeting, but I don't actually have a goal or prize that I will be saving for.

Mmmmm this needs more thinking about - what do I really [STRIKE]want [/STRIKE][STRIKE]need[/STRIKE] want?

triple choc chip I think a savings goal is exactly what you need! Do you have a dream holiday anywhere? Take the kids to Disnay World? House deposit?

Also i have just come back from a few nights away with the family and we stayed in a travelodge and as we only paid £29 a night i was really dreading what the room was going to be like but it was fine and i would definately recommend it if anyone is looking for a cheap place to stay.

Not caught up on the thread but just saw Spagbol's rant about BT at top of page. We've just switched to Bt and now our laptops won't connect to the wifi, allegedly it's a Toshiba with Vista laptop issue!?!?!?

thanks to the horrible gas bill my monthly payments are now £90 p/m!!! makes me feel sad what else i could spend that on.....we have asked to change back to quarterly bills so we can track the usage more easily when the new boiler system is in.

You're definitely getting the new boiler then? That's good news! At least your payments can only go down!

hismissus we have BT in our house share and I'm not very impressed with it either - it's constantly disconnecting, and the hub doesn't seem to have a very wide range on it. Signal upstairs is very patchy for me, and it's not just because of vista.
