Hi all!
We live in a new build house, well, it's new in my opinion, think it was built in 1990. I find it's just smaller than a victorian terrace or even the 1960's council houses of around our way. The ceilings are lower, the doors seem narrower and the walls sound hollow compared to my parents victorian built, to survive a bomb blast, stone house where I can't touch the ceiling even if I stretch and jump.
We've decided to stay put though as I think buying a house now will plunge us into more long-term debt, if that makes sense. We reckon once my debt has gone, we can overpay the mortgage and be mortgage-free in 10yrs.0 -
So in the debate of new vs old, there is no clear winner
However my walls are paper thin so I don't think I care too much about that!0 -

There never will be a winner! It's what works for you that matters.
We got an email around today telling us they're doing a company wide pay review, which is great news! Likely to be just above the nationwide average, but also depends on individuals. Will find out in 2 weeks and hoping they might include a little bit of a performance based boost (I won't hold my breath though).
I'm getting RSI from my computer at work, and our office go to is on leave this week. Will have to miss out on over time at the weekend now, as I need to let my arm rest.0 -

Just had another look.....yes they look lovely. Would I pay twice the price for it compared to something else the same size elsewhere in the town? NO. lol
Good news0 -

Ah I see, yes hopefully you can get a good settlement. And that is another good name typo to add to my collection :rotfl::rotfl:minicooper272 wrote: »There never will be a winner! It's what works for you that matters.

any idea how long we should wait before applying for OH's credit report? we want to check that his debts have been marked as settled... it's been about 4 weeks for one and more for the other, probably about 6-8?0

Hello
The last of last weekend's ebay buyers has now paid. 7 of the items I listed have bids, totalling £49, so I am hopeful that I will be paying some more this weekend coming.
Also, I have £110 due from Quidco at the next payment :j
Still a week to payday though!
Total now #11 - £3721.27/£10,224 = 36.40%
I am really happy, the balance on the credit card is now less that £1000, only by 14p, but less is less isn't it. It will be paid off by the end of May
and then I will start on Very, which is the next most expensive debt  According to whats the cost Very will be clear by the end of Sept, but I reckon it will be sooner than that, which will enable me to start on the next dearest debt and so on......
I never thought I would be so motivated. ntil I joned this challenge, I would just pay my minimum payments and then go out and buy something I didn't need or presents for others.
