Hi, I know its March but i'd really like to join please.

    £4715.75/£4747.69

    cc1 £976.99 cc2 £1503.43 Loan $2267.27

Paying loads of interest on cc1 and cc2 (making my payments almost worthless!) Have applied for a new cc with a 16 month 0% balance transfer, been accepted just waiting on credit limit to confirm. Fingers crossed xxx If this goes through i will be paying £55 off the cards than just on interest, big difference!!

Been meal planning and starting my os ways to reduce living costs last two weeks and living better with more money. Have started saving a little emergency cash and budgeting in xmas, i kept getting nearly debt free then BANG xmas or BANG car needs fixing. Need to plan these things in rather than just spend the cash this time. I like to have credit cards paid off for christmas then loan next year, but if I do it quicker even better

Looking forward to joining in xx

Well I've just had half my expenses paid back and another £50 from my sister in the payback of her loan...so I've reduced my overdraft by £50. I've also scooped up all the money from the joint account except £100 and all the money left in my account except £20 and paid it towards the CC. I'm finding it a bit demotivating that even though I am paying money towards the CC, because we need to use that money for food etc the balance isn't really reducing by very much :( However, I do know that I've paid even more onto it this month than I did last month, so at least the interest will be less. I want to get it down to a manageable size that I can clear each month and eventually not use.

Either way, I can declare that £50 :D

    I'm still chipping away.

I have borrowed more money so my husband could buy a new bike which has set us back. I've not included it as I've made my spreadsheet so complicated I can't add it in easily.

Borrowing extra is a shame but he is actually on board with the budget now so I think it's actually worth it in an odd way!

You guys really help me to keep going so thanks!!

Hi xJOJOx  I have added you, you are #162, but I am a bit confused about your figures...I have put you down as having to pay off £4715.75 is that right? When you post an update put how much you have paid off so far as that is what we record on the front page. So next week you could be:

    #162 £10 / £4715.75

    Welcome and good luck! :j

Well done everyone for your payments :T

    Payday :D:D:D

    #4 £1381/£7345

Baby steps still. Trying to get to that elusive 2k savings mark so I can pay of my credit cards. Although I have enough to pay off one I might get impatient and pay off one of them as they are about £1k each :) :rotfl:

    Under 6k owing now :D:D:D
    In debt no more!

i think i can probably give up on getting on the housing ladder, since the announcement of mortgage help from the government means competition will be mad >_<

Maybe, maybe not! Our issue is that OH has a bad credit history so it was always going to be hard anyway, but if they're guaranteeing mortgages with a low deposit then we'll be competing for the lower priced houses :o (since we're unlikely to get a joint mortgage with a small deposit...)

Excellent, the new budget will leave me with £20 more in my pocket each month! That will let me feel just a little more comfortable.

TBH, I think the first time buyer scheme is just going to push up the price of new houses/flats. After all, if people can afford them more easily, there will be more demand on the limited number of 'affordable' properties out there. It's going to lead to so many more new developments now, which just sounds like such a headache to me!

we don't want to buy a new build, they are poorly constructed and tiny from what i have seen......wonder how it will impact on houses already built though?

a new build development here has just finished, £165k for a 3 bedroom with allocated parking and a tiny garden!!! are you having a laugh. i live in a terraced house down the road and you can buy one of these for £80k... granted no parking, but you get a lot more room!
