As of ten minutes ago i am debt free!!!!
so excited!
I still have to be a good girl this month, but have been paid a fair whack of overtime so bye bye spanish bank overdraft! For the first time in 17 years i am in the black.
Although i don't really post much, hearing about everyone extraordinary efforts has really helped me to keep going, so a big thankyou to everyone (esp. Jemma and spagbol) for all your encouraging words.
I have already treated myself to a new hoover ( exciting i know!) and now we are going to start saving for a new car for my husband, and a new kitchen.
Good luck to you all with your debt busting journeys, i'm sure i'll still be lurking from time to time.
#13 £8500/8500 100%!!
I'd giver her a wide berth tbh, who would review a conversation and text how mean you are? Unless this is a close friend and the behaviour is out of character of course then I'd be worried but it doesn't sound like it is.fritterprincess wrote: »Hi all!

I have closed 2 cards in the last few weeks but they haven't registered on the noddle thingy yet, still on there as open and last update was early feb. Does closing them mess up credit scores then  I thought I'd be ok as I still have 6 other cards and 2 bank accounts

It is entirely up to you how you count things on this challenge, some include all payments others just extras or a certain CC. I include all payments but ignore the interest until the end of the year as I find it more motivational to see what I have paid gross rather than net. Just work out how you think you would like to see your payments and go with it
Well done Kerri :T
I am having a really down day today
I think I find school holidays hard (especially just before payday) as I feel like I should be able to take the kids to the beach or the farm or whatever without worrying about the money and this always hits home in the holidays. We have been to the park a couple of times and I've just got them a film to watch on the telly for a few quid and some sweets but still I feel so miserable.
I am seriously tempted to crack open a bottle of wine but am on a diet too
It's just too unfair, if I was destined to be this crap with money could I not at least have been THIN instead of rich?!?!?!:rotfl:
Thank you! Knowing that means I am less likely to feel like a failure! I have a set amount of spending each month as the OH runs the finances like a business so I pay a lump sum every month and whatever is left pays my petrol and clothing, school trips for my daughter etc! I am trying to be more economical with my fuel and not having gingerbread lattes at 'Costa small fortune'. I have also set myself as a target member at 'Slumming World' so have saved £20-£25 this month! But have £35 for school trip to pay and 2 birthdays this month!
Why does it feel like you are saving one area and then it pours out another! I want to pay off extra but it's not looking likely!
I am loathe to give up my :doh:hobby, Burlesque dancing, it's what I look forward to each week. But should I?
On a plus note I have sold £16 worth of books to Fatbrain, so gonna post these today! I also run a Phoenix Cards business but have put in zero effort, maybe if I can get my backside into gear I can do a bit more on that and raise some extra funds! Stock is low though and I don't want to invest anymore at the moment!
Am going to make use of the free listing on ebay this weekend too I think!
Oh what to do, lol!
Good luck all.0 -
