Pay day is Friday for me and the 28th for DH and I am excited to make my first overpayments. We still don't exactly know what DH pay will be because his rise didn't go through in time for jans pay so I will have to wait until the end of the month to make the first op. it's so frustrating eek:

I am aiming for £1000 off the total in March:)

I need a plan of action for my car. :S at the current rate I'm going it won't be paid off until 2017, I'd like to gone way before that though... I think I'm owing about £5.5k on it including interest etc. Once the other debts are out of the way, how should I tackle it? Suggestions welcome :D

My car finance company said I could not make a partial payment, only a full one. If you put the money in a savings account until you have enough to pay the lump, then do it. You will save a bit in interest as well!

A free credit check report. Have a google. It gives you the report monthly, although it's not always up to date but still great for a freebie

    Hi everyone!

Long time no see.. I have certainly fallen off the wagon a bit since I came to live in London :o
Am trying to reel it in now, but didn't pay my target amounts off for the last 2 months, and March will probably be the same, so I'm looking at being debt free end of April now. I'm still very happy that I will have managed to clear over £5K in just over a year which I never thought would be possible.

I need to keep visiting you guys to help me keep the momentum!! you turn debt busting into dare I say it, some sort of fun exercise!! (almost!!)

Well done to everyone paying off debts this month :T

Declaring £100 off my work loan and small payment of £21.49 off my CC from last month. Right now off to have a catch up and see what you've all been up to xx

Yes I thought that would be the case. Hmmm. At the moment I am paying off £1380 a year on it, with a final payment of I think around £2300 unless I decide to carry on paying my current monthly payment until it's all paid. I'll see where I stand when we've paid off this debt and see if I can put some savings aside for the car as well as the house deposit.
